only if you help me find someone who knows how to properly braid silver into silk wink ... I'm going to do a proper check of the area. xd *And with with a laugh Karasu misted out again, a strong breeze whipping past and dissapeared again*

Evan had given Melissa a great deal to think about.

"I just thought it was an odd dream. I didn't like him too much though, he did seem to be a grumpy old man and he blew smoke in my face!" xp "I thought he sounded very...... lonely."

I have to keep my mind out of the clouds, and focus on flames. No, that isn't what he said, I need to pay attention better. Focus on one good thing.

"Is that like thinking happy thoughts?" she asked.

She yawned, a bit more sleepy now.

"She's... special."

No other words came. He coudn't be that diplomatic about Lady Raven. And thus, they had reached the front door of... whatever it was. The shack, the cabin, the building in general. He placed Melissa down and knocked twice on the door.

"Hello in there..."

....................

There was a high pitched sneeze.

"Maybe they're not home? I hope so, I'm starting to get cold out here."

(Vacation has ended. Pics are with Crystal. RPtime again.)

Another knock- this one a bit more insistent. She was getting cold, and Evan did not have time to fool around. They needed directions and shelter, whichever came first, and it wasn't going to be pretty if they didn't get it soon. Still, he was patient about it... and soon enough, the door opened.

The man looked the two over for a moment before grunting momentarily.

"Well, don't jus' stand there like a couple of trees, get in before your limbs fall off from the cold."

With that, they gained access.

(This is the point where someone else takes over this NPC. I am tired.)

Suddenly, the heavens let loose a scream unlike anything ever heard by mortals. And even if they had heard such a scream, it would have been the last thing they ever would hear before going completely deaf, or having their heads explode. Whichever came first.

Enter Dash: Super-Sonic projectile form.

With the realm of logic and science being tossed completely out the window, (such is what happens when crazy powers on a scale such as this are involved.) Dash traverses a fair chunk of land in an obscenely short time span. Let's say, a matter of milliseconds? No, centi-seconds! No one ever uses the unit centi-seconds!

50 centi-seconds after recieving the pummeling of a life-time from his opponent Reiko, Dash found himself between a rock and a very large, very hard place. Namely the Mithril Mountains. The impact was felt for miles.

When the tremors subside, all is relatively still, including smoldering mass of rock that was Dash's impact zone.

"REEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

THOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Dash had opened the flood gates of hell, and what came rushing out, was PURE OWNAGE!

With speeds rivaling those at which Reiko originally sent him packing, Dash literally ripped through the mountain itself and prepared to unleash his FISTS OF FURY! Only his opponent would not have just mere fists to contend with. No sir, at the ends of Dash's arms would be no less than several tons of SOLID MOUNTAIN HIDE!

BOOM! THOOM!

He would slam each one into Reiko, but not quite with the force needed to shatter them. That wouldn't come until the hammer-fist follow-up.

Not only would the boulders then shatter, the attack would send Reiko careening down into the Mountain side below.

Dash would then follow, performing some hyped up flying spear attack which served to drive Reiko through several sections of mountain until finally emerging on the far end of the range itself.

Only MASS CARNAGE was left in their wake. Nearby towns and villages were practically buried under countless tons of rock as it came crashing down behind them.

When it was all over, Dash allowed Reiko to be carried off by his momentum and hovered in place like the badass he was.

It had been warmer in the hut. Much warmer. The snow had since come with the wind, and they were trapped here for a bit until conditions softened. The night was coming on, and though Evan wasn't affected by the cold in any way, shape, or form... Melissa would be. Immortal as she was, she was only half that. Half did not count- not up here.

If there were no other people to worry about besides just himself and Karasu, this would be easier. But there wasn't, and she was a living, breathing beacon to the first stop on their journey.

The cards worried him as well, both the Tower and the blank, as-yet-unnamed card. The ones that weren't mysterious were ominous. The only one they didn't worry was Hugin, though he said nothing about them. In fact, he had little to say this day. That was both good and bad, because his advice and abilities were crucial here.

In any event... Evan asked the questions while Melissa rested.

"So then... these mountains. Do you know of anything remotely... interesting about them?"

The man, who looked no younger or older than his mid-fourties, looked up briefly from his tea. It looked as if he had been up here for a bit, and yet he looked perfectly sane. Perhaps it was because he had someplace to stay and a fire to sit by. Perhaps it was because he was prepared for such an extended stay.

No one knew but him- at least, until the question was answered.

"Hm. Depends on what you mean by interesting. There're dwarven folk in the mountains, further up. I've been tradin' with 'em for quite some time now, and have made a comfortable living for myself via that. The stories they tell are quite... interesting, really. You may not believe some of them."

Evan raised an eyebrow. "Try me. I've heard and seen a lot."

After raising an eyebrow, the man nodded. "Right then... well, you might believe it and you might not, but I've been up quite a ways on this mountain, and a major colony of dwarves swear by their ancestors on this story. There's supposed to be the ruins of some kind of fortress here on this mountain; from some war or another. Seems like it happened some time ago, although there are supposedly a few things intact... and in surprisingly pristine condition.

"Hell, I even hear tales of someone walking amongst those ruins, though I doubt that's true. No one can survive in that kind of weather for that long, lest they be inhuman. 'S all just a story, though. You'll have to talk to the dwarves further up the moutain if you want to hear the rest."

Evan nodded and placed a hand on his chin. "I see... I believe I will talk to them. Thank you."

The man shook his head. "Just be careful- there are things on the way that I doubt one would enjoy conversation with. In fact, I figure they'll be more of a mood for dining, if you catch my drift."

Evan grimaced. Perfect.

*Karasu misted back into sight with a frown*No sign of any other people around here...

*She was obviously agitated, her normal emotionless demeanor was being affected by something, although what, was not clear. Her appearance had changed quite a bit while she was away as well, her light gray outfit becoming a much darker gray, almost a black, and her hair was all tied back in a braid the silver and crystal ornament hidden but her pointed ears now quite visible*

Evan didn't have to turn around to speak to Karasu. He could sense her presence well enough that he could feel her out with his eyes closed. He could feel her stress from where he was sitting, though he didn't know what the problem was. Naturally, he was inclined to ask.

"So then... what is wrong? That tone of voice is only reserved for when something has gone out of sorts."

He turned and took another sip from his tea cup. It was a piercing, soul-searching look he gave her when he finally directed his gaze upon his former subordinate.

"And don't tell me that nothing is wrong... Your appearance changes with your moods as well. So speak, please. What is troubling you?"

The man who was in the room just stared at her- the woman who had just come in like some gust of wind. After blinking for a moment, he shrugged and took another drink. He didn't know who she was, but he figured that there were stranger things out there than just her.

*She met his gaze with her normal icy stare, still trying to wipe the frown off her face and regain her control* Hono... Hono had done something... I did not expect this, I knew that a change was coming but she has gone in another direction than the one I set in motion... can you feel the ravens? There affiliation has shifted slightly, they still hear us... but we are no longer totaly in comand of them, and I can not sence Hono at all anymore, neither can Bren stare

She is alive and well, the ravens told me that, but they will say no more... they only babble about a new dawn for the flock, whatever that means
rolleyes *Karasu tugged at her braid absently, never noticing as the hidden bits of crystal and silver in her hair cut into her gloves althought her hands were not even scratched*

Evan almost smirked. He knew that if he did, Karasu's ire would be directed towards him, so he kept his features diplomatically neutral. However, one thought came to his head- one that would have made him laugh in any other situation.

Mommy's very angry...

He shrugged and said, "Yes, I can hear them. From what I can gather, they seem to have found a new leader of sorts. From what you have said, I can only assume that it is Hono. She always was a bird brain.

"Fear not... the same end will meet her, whatever path she takes. However, this is not natural. We will look into it later- for now, we have a job to do."

He gestured towards Karasu's hands and said, "You'll ruin your gloves that way, you know."

stare *Karasu scowled a bit more and even went so far as to stomp her foot in a show of frustration, a gust of wind rushing out around her before she simply let it go, her expression going blank again as she let the issue go for now. She let go of her braid and looked at the cuts in her gloves. Karasu actually winked at Evan and simply blew across her palms, a light mist forming across the material and then disappearing, apparently mending the cuts in the leather although she kept the dark colored clothing* We need to keep moving, will Melissa be alright to go on a bit more this evening?

There is a good place to camp about three hours further up the mountain...

This time, Evan did smirk. Karasu did know how to have her temper tantrums, if one could call them that. When she was good and finished, and informed them of her scouting results, Evan nods and says, "Excellent. It's not right however to wake Melissa up just yet. I would rather let her sleep just a bit longer before heading towards that site."

Evan looked at her again. Such a young girl with an innocent face. Those dreams that troubled her had both him and Hugin worried to a rather unsettling extent. But they had no time to worry about them now. If Evan attempted to infiltrate her mind- view her dreams from a more direct perspective, there would most likely be a trap waiting for him.

Part of him didn't care. The part that wanted Ymir dead- the part that wanted to destroy this nuisance and rid the world of a mad god.

Part of him worried about how Melissa would take this kind of intrusion. The part that cared for the girl instead of what was inside of her, though this part was worried that what was in... would get out if given enough time.

"We have to find Idunn as soon as possible. She may have an answer as to how to save this girl's life without having to dive into her subconscious."

I shouldn't have brought her...

The voice of reason, Hugin, responded.

You had no choice.

He sounded almost sympathetic...
