Elysia Kavanagh Her body was trembling slightly. Vanna noticed and perked up, looking at her mom and touching her hair lightly in concern.
"Do... do you think there's still time to catch him? Can I go to that celebration still?" The woman looked at her in surprise. "That's... where you're headed, darling. We're all in the crowd to go to The Choosing."

Lorelei froze for a moment, mouth open. Then her cheeks (the parts that weren't scarred and oozing) turned bright red.
"My mind must have fled me," she murmured, ducking her head and pulling up her hood on instinct. "I don't quite know what I'm really doing... I suppose I could make an excuse and say I've only heard of this part as being the "Light Bearing Ceremony," which I wouldn't be too surprised to find out is wrong, too. It's sad - I was born here, raised here, and yet I'm apparently so unfamiliar with the Port that..."
She held up her hands, sighing. Then she laughed a little. "Forgive me. I'm usually not like this at all."

Marissa was crestfallen, and chasted herself for being so. Could she really expect each problem to be so simple for the poor Filor to understand? Still, the words she said were of interest.
"The...Northern King? Loch...I don't know the name. Where do I find him? Besides...to the north?"

(I know I'm a little late from page 14 plot. So, I'll do my best to keep it recent. ^_^)
DeArca, a little confused why the friendly priests ignoring him, could only trail behind the others as they socialized, played, and above all...had fun. The only thing DeArca could do was overhear conversations, listen to the noises of the crowds.....and chase Ash every direction there was to go.
"SORRY!" DeArca panicked, dodging a woman as quickly as he could as he ran towards Ash, who could only squeak as he was chased. "ASH! Stop right there...you're not supposed to run away!" He said and Ash squeaked again, playing his favorite game, hide an seek. In a crowded place, it was so much easier to hide because he was small, but it was so frustrating for DeArca to find him.
"Ash! Stop...come on, you're gonna get lost....I'm going to get lost!" He said, stopping a moment, hoping to find a brown blur race across the ground, but there was no luck. "Even Marco has better sense than this..." DeArca sighed, falling to his knees in the crowd, looking through several dozen legs. "Where are you?"
Ash, being cute, came up behind DeArca, crawling onto him, running across his back, and made a rolling leap off his head. "ASH!" DeArca said, crawling past several people towards a wagon as he crunched right under it. "Hold it!" He fell forward, grabbing Ash with his hands as he fell against his chest. Ash squeaked, finally caught as DeArca sighed and began to worm his way out from under the wagon. "You little sneak!"

Oqaia The woman beamed back at her. "It is! It is a glorious day for the celebrations. ...Would you like some sweet juice for you and your... erm... pet?" The priestess had a series of white swirls and circles that created a mask about her eyes and then curled down the left side of her face. A single vine-like tendril of white eked down onto the line of her jaw on that side- and it was strangely appealing and beautiful all at once. Irina gazed at the woman in white, admiring the swirling markings around her face. She was beautiful, Irina thought, giving the woman a wide smile while moving Kalpana to her other arm so that the woman could see her more clearly. "We would love some juice," she said, nodding at the woman's kindness. "I'm not sure Kalpana here would like it, but I know I would," she finished with a wink. "And well, she's not exactly a pet...She's my daughter. I know it sounds kind of strange, but eventually, she will become a child. She's what we like to call a Fortunette."
Irina wasn't sure if the woman knew much about gypsy magic. Irina herself was new to the idea. She hadn't seen much gypsy magic until she had joined the caravan, but she knew Kalpana coming into her life was destiny. There was a reason for everything, she knew, giving the badger a squeeze.
Kal nuzzled the woman's arm cheerfully, as if to say: "Yes, I'd love some more sugar!" The badger wasn't accustomed to such sweet foods, and it was giving her a rather pleasant sugar-high.

Oqaia The figure near her did almost trip, but another figure caught her, and stood her upright. The woman gave one look at the man who had caught her- about to thank him, but then, paled and rushed off through the crowd. It was then that the man turned to Gwynna, instead, and beamed a smile that seemed beyond reproach. "I guess she's not used to them," he said, a honeyed voice almost drawing attention away from what is very obvious: this beautiful man- masculine and perfect in nearly every respect- boasts a very large pair of white, angelic wings. "Sorry again!" Gwynna called after the retreating woman. Her eyes widened as she turned to the distinctly impressive man beside her. "Hm, I can't imagine why!" she exclaimed, her tone dry and amused. The young woman shifted Nusa on her hip, revealing the infant's animalistic ears. Gwynna adjusted the shawls again, although the man with her was sure to attract more attention than a small child. Nusa fidgeted, not liking being all covered up, in spite of the chilly weather. She giggled at the Shiny Man, her clothing woes forgotten. "Bah!" Her mother grinned and stepped closer to the winged man as the crowd moved around them. "I'm Gwynna, and my daughter is Nusa."

Menelie Caroline feels the woman's grip on her loosen. She doesn't bolt yet, though her better senses tell her to. Better not to draw attention to herself. She keeps a close eye on Rojiza, nibbling at a piece of sweet fruit. She would not abide her daughter being taken from her, or anything else happening to her. Mulden leaps to mind, and Caroline quells this thought forcefully. [So Oq doesn't have to go looking for it. xD]

Oqaia The woman turned. She had grey eyes framed with whitish blonde lashes, and around her neck, a very small vial- no bigger than a child's thimble- that was toppered with a small diamond, but had nothing inside. She smiled at the compliment, and half-curtsied, but the look on her face was still... sad, in a way. "Thank you. The only other diamond flute I know of was my aunt's- but she disappeared long ago. The other diamond instruments... they belong to my sisters." She said the last word with mounting sorrow- and even more upsetting, it seemed that the word was also laced in acceptance. She had lost something, and somehow managed to accept that it would never return. "My name is Susa. And you are?" She listened and nodded, "I am Heather this is Amkia and Kala has ran off somewhere." She sighed and looked around but she couldn't see the leopard. She could only hope she wan't getting in lots of trouble.

I think you just ought to find this man of yours- the thought of him is muddling your mind." She patted Lorelei's arm to let her know that she didn't mean her words unkindly.

"The...Northern King? Loch...I don't know the name. Where do I find him? Besides...to the north?" "The Sentinel Lochs are the great protectors of the Phyleohn Sea- and some of us Filor, and the other merswift people who live in the Sea as opposed to the sweet waters of the Pythos- we call them the Kings. But the Northern Loch is seen most often by landdwellers. You'll have to get to the Port Docks and find some way to call him."

Oh, that's... just marvelous." The way she smiled at Irina, it was obvious she meant it. "It's wonderful that you're already a mother." She turned, then, and gave a signal to one of the sweet juice bearers. He came over and brought the priestess a flask, who then handed it over to Irina. Before the bearer ran back to his post, the priestess whispered something in his ear. The boy nodded- a chaste little gesture that didn't suggest anything one way or another, but then he took off towards the front of the crowd.

She is as sweet and pure a Darkling Infant as I've ever seen, Gwynna. You should be very proud. ...Which caravan are you travelling with?"

Lorelei was still blushing, pushing some of her blonde curls back behind her ear.
"Well... we're all going to the same place, yes? I might as well stay by you for now. Who knows what trouble I might get my muddled self into were I to start pushing through the crowds, hm?"
She did want to run ahead, but looking at the state she was currently in... well, that didn't sound like all that great of an idea.
