"I'm not part of the Circle," Tatsumi answered Tsuzuki, sighing softly. Well, he wasn't. By the definition they were currently going by, he wasn't PART of the Circle.

...Oh. ...Well now he felt stupid. Which wasn't an odd feeling around Tatsumi. He often got the feeling he'd barely graduated kindergarten around the... coon... or... man, he was having a hard time getting used to this.
"I guess... that's good..." he said finally, feeling awkward about just... standing there... being wrong...

Feeling of stupidity... growing... growing... "I was worried!" he protested, looking pointedly away from Tatsumi and finding himself very interested in the door frame.

Tatsumi gave Tsuzuki a skeptical glance. "And your worry is what prompted you to believe I was part of the Circle. I see. Your opinions are well noted. Don't forget to tell Hisoka-kun about missing the meeting." With that, Tatsumi turned and strode away.

"You're not even trying to understand, are you?" Tsuzuki muttered angrily, barely catching himself before slamming the door shut. No... no noise. Hisoka was still asleep.
Fine. If Tatsumi wasn't going to talk, he wasn't going to talk either. That'd show him. ...in theory. What theory, he didn't know, but... Tsuzuki frowned as he leaned back against the door, slowly sinking down to sit on the floor, his eyes on the sleeping Hisoka.
His partner had sounded so... if not sure, so upset, and while he knew better than anyone exactly how sensitive Hisoka could be, not just anything set the kitten off. But... Tatsumi didn't lie. So what was going on here? Refusing to waste more braincells on the matter until he could talk to either 'soka or Tatsumi--wait... he wasn't talking to Tatsumi...--he moved quietly back over to the bed settled down next to his partner, wrapping an arm slowly and gently around the boy's sleeping arms and chest, seeking both comfort and sleep in the most passive of silences.

"Disagreements can be taken up later-- for now let's prepare for phase one-- before Miss raven suspects."

"If there are so many disagreements, however... perhaps we should refresh everyone's memory as to why these... engagements... are necessary?"
"I assume you have a suggestion?"
"I don't think that we need to listen to his suggestion yet. Nothing has happened-- yet."
"Of course-- it was only an idea. Nothing more."
"If we need an example--"
"That won't be necessary."
"So certain?"
"Yes."

Hisoka awoke with a start the next morning, whimpering softly before realizing Tsuzuki's arms were still wrapped around him. Since the wolf had since fallen asleep, Hisoka didn't feel as self-conscious about nuzzling his partner-- he needed the comfort right now. That dream had felt so... vivid. Almost as if those voices from deep within the shadows were reaching out to consume him...

Tsuzuki shifted slightly, eyes opening just a tad. In most cases of waking up, sleeping was far preferable. Opening eyes to only the slightest amount was the best way to ensure nothing untoward was about to occur. Thankfully, all he found upon opening those deeply purple eyes was Hisoka. Much better than any alternative in his opinion.
"Morning," he mumbled sleepily, content to just be holding and watching his partner. They'd never done anything quite like this before... had they? As thought before, better than the alternative...

Hisoka smiled slightly at his partner-- Tsuzuki somehow always managed to make the world seem brighter... it calmed the Empath down more than he cared to say. Ever. "Good morning," the cat murmured, content not to move for right now. The after effects of the dream quickly faded away in the wake of Tsuzuki's gentleness...

Had he really just spent the entire night here? ...Wow. And not the slightest hint of insomnia, bad dreams... well, maybe on Hisoka's part... But nothing that'd woken him. Which was the problem these days, it seemed, when he failed to notice how bad a time Hisoka was having with his subconscious. "Do we have to get up?" he whined quietly.

Hisoka laughed quietly. "...probably. I think I missed last night's meeting..." he muttered as he realized that he'd fallen asleep before the nightly meeting raven insisted on. "Great..."

Oh yeah... meeting... Tatsumi... Circle or not--that was the question. "Ah... Tatsumi mentioned that... when he came around last night--right after you'd fallen asleep..." Tsuzuki mumbled. "We... didn't really talk... Not talk-talk. ...he's being irritable."

Hisoka sighed softly. "He's always irritable now. He went to a meeting with the Circle after that." The cat was certain now-- one of those voices in the dream, no matter how distorted... it had been Tatsumi. It had to have been.

"About that..." Tsuzuki mumbled, organizing his thoughts before speaking. "Tatsumi... said he... wasn't part of the Circle.... when I asked..." he trailed off, realizing that if Tatsumi had, for whatever reason, actually joined, the likelihood of him telling Tsuzuki so was very slim. But the coon didn't lie! Misled, perhaps... if he'd ever done that in the past, Tsuzuki would be hard pressed to remember it but...
