"Whereabouts do you come from?" he asked idly. He assumed somewhere in Eastern Asia, but he didn't want to make an arse of himself and make a mistake.

"So this place really is that much fun, eh?" he smiled. He hoped time would pass quickly, his goal in life now was to proove to himself and his family that he could be something special.

Oz was more reluctant to answer her question, furrowing his brow in thought. He was genuinely ashamed of his job. And who would blame him. Oz was a fallen star.

"Errr...I had a job in a...meat warehouse," he mumbled his reply. "But I used to be a professional rugby player," he added more enthusiastically. Was he trying to impress Sayuri?

'It is different,' Sayuri conceded carefully. It was obvious he didnt know the true reason behind his being on the Island and given her language skill it wouldnt be easy for her to explain things.
'I am from Gion, in Japan.'
She shook her head.
'I sorry, I do not know what those are,' she smiled apologetically.

Colche tilted her head and laughed quietly. Yup Tristan was very drunk. Of course, his comment about 'p***y' went partially over her head. She wrinkled her nose a little and contemplated what to say or even how to take that. Licking her furry lips, she shook her head "no, Cheetah, not p***y" She stated rather simply, what else could she possibly say to that?

Letting the comment go she contemplated for a moment on California. Fake women? What did that mean? She was about to askonly to be destracted by a wobbbling canine. Sighing gently the little cheetah girl turned her attention back on Tristan.

"Colche" She purrs holding out a furry fingered clawed paw like hand. "you sorta new?" she smiles she knew, new people were dodgy, and sometimes edgy around her, she didn't understand it, what was wrong with being fuzzy? "wassu gunna be?" she smiles, guessing he had probably asked since he had, had his first change, most people usually did.

If Thom realized Miller was avoiding looking at him, he didn't care. It wasn't surprising, really. Enough of the present islanders were scared of him, and they had been around for a while. At least this guy wasn't running away screaming. His face darkened at the mention of Sabin, but he politely remained silent until Miller had finished speaking, lazily nursing the bottle of alcohol while he listened. "Well, the didn' lie, eh? Jus' didn' tell th' full truth. Ahh, Dr. Duvert... Without a doubt th' cause of my lovely costume t'night. I was pesterin' his 'pet'." He chuckled darkly, taking another sip before offering his own explanation.

"Used t' play football f' Britain. Don't know if you 'eard about th' bus wreck? Back in May, shortly b'fore th' World Cup? Some'ow they snatched me from the wreck, an' 'ere I am, presumed dead by th' world an' likely incapable of ever playin' football again." He rolled his eyes and, as an afterthought, offered a hand. "Thom Brinley."

Many costumes had been considered before the squirrel woman had finally settled on one while smoking and watching Moulin Rouge one bright and sunny day. Even if the costume was pink, the 'tails' on it were perfect. It wouldn't be a heavy costume, and therefore it wouldn't be too hot or get in the way of her many appendages.

It wasn't a surprise that she was starting to really miss the fall weather of Maryland afterall, especially with the added heat of her fur amplifying the damned tropical weather.

Regardless of her and Anatoli's ideas of their own party, the announcement of a party thrown by the staff threw them off course. In the end, their ideas were stored away for later and that was that.

As with most parties, Antony had already downed a few pre-event shots to make such a gathering tolerable. After all, everyone had been invited and the albino had taken notice in the village of the current population, a lot of them quite new.

That many new humans and animal people in one small tent just screamed drama, and drama always was better with a couple, or in this case many, shots.

Therefore, that is how the rodent stepped into the fesitivities, in a rather tolerable mood and in her ever so sparkling costume. No doubt, it was time to stir the drama pot for her entertainment.

"I wouldn't worry about it, rugby is probably little known outside of the UK and Europe. And easily confused with American football too," he waffled on briefly, but quickly silenced himself. Women weren't always known for their love of sport.

Oz reached down for another drink, finding himself quite parched. The whole atmosphere was dry and the furry suit just complicated things. He just hoped he didn't smell bad in front of Sayuri.

"Oh wow, Japan. Thats one of those places I've always wanted to go. Whats it like?"

Uh oh

Oz winced slightly, trying to hide the sudden discomfort he felt in his gut. Bladders were a troublesome organ, life would be so much easier without one.

Even if Miller wanted to run from Thom he couldn't have gone very far if e tried. His legs had gone numb not long ago when Thom had decided to preform a little peep show in to what Miller could become. "No I guess he didn't still... how can the just do this? Nita said any one who found out ended up here, or was bribed... it just dosn't make sense..."

He frowned at Thom's mentioning of a bus accidnet, "I never watched the world cup but it was all over the news about some accident. So some one just picked you up off the street and sent you here?" Miller had yet to notice Thom holding out his hand and when he finally did it was a good few moments latter when he dared to look at the snake man again. "Miller Mi-" He stoped mid sentence noticeing what looked like a squirrle with to many tails. "You've gota be ******** kidding me..."

Tristan accepted her offered... paw and shook it gently before promptly letting it go. It felt.. weird. But then again, wasn't his own hands now abominations? She also had an odd name but of course, it had to be foreign or exotic. She didn't know what California was, afterall. "I'm Tristan Wylde, Colche, and to be honest, I don't know what I'm going to be. I think I might be a cheetah too. Or leopard. Something with spots and black eyes. I don't plan on it being permanent so details don't matter."

He turned around so that she could better see the patterns on his upper back. They were the only attribute from the change that he could tolerate. They almost looked like tattoos.

Something seemed off about the woman. His brain wouldn't behave long enough to catch exactly what it was, just that this woman was different than most. Childlike? "So.. how long have you been here," he asked curiously.

Deciding that everyone was too engaged in their own conversations for the time being, Pyroth snorted peevishly and with rather more force than was necessary, poured himself a drink, the result was a bit marred with spillages but he did it in the end, lapping up the drink casually from the glass. After repeating the process for one more drink he leaned back casually on his paws, using the table as a lookout point for the rest of the room.

He spotted Antony come in from where he was and smirked, she had actually managed to make her current shape look good. He was impressed.

Still, he didn't go anywhere, knowing that being beside the tables was the only way to keep at eye level and watch what was going down in the room.

After a glance or so around the tent, she acutely noticed a baby blue dress that wasn't quite filled out as it should have been. If there had been fur, she would have immediately assumed the one in drag to be Vasile or Avery, but this one was definitely not mammalian.

A chuckle that sounded more like a chitter left her muzzle before she ultimately decided to make her way over to the drag queen. She really didn't even notice the normal one, since her attention was almost entirely on the obviously intoxicated 'princess'.

"Your costume needs knockers," she stated bluntly, eyeing the drink in his hand before rudely taking it from his hand and dumping it back herself. Upon seeing his face, it was hard to tell if she recognized him or not. After all, the last time she had seen Thom was at the soccer game, when he was still normal then.

Colche

Colche's small rounded ears perked forwards as tristan spoke. He wasn't planning on being fuzzy for long? Maybe he was going scaly instead? She let the thought slide away though.

Those saweet baby blue eyes admired his spots as he turned round to show her his new markings "Purty" she smiles "like a saban" as always she had found a chracter from one of her many 'stories' to relate the markings to. Saban of course, from tarzan, the big scary leopard. Tristan didn't exactly look scary but he did reek of alcohol which could make things scary.

How long? It was a good question and one she couldn't answer, months, days even years were irrelevant to the little cheetah girl so she simply shrugged and replied "forever." It felt like forever, this her second halloween, she remembered the first not at all fondly, she remembered her first change and how she had hidden under a table nmost of the halloween events. Not this year,s he was out and about being a real princess in a big party, surrounded by friends, her family, when she eventually found them, and just generally jovial people.

"S'a private island, innit?" Thom shrugged, picking absently at one of the sleeves of the dress. It itched. "Even if someone did find out, there probably isn' much tha' can be done. An' f'most of us there's no goin' back. C'n y'imagine me poppin' up on th' field like this? People would 'ave a fit. I'd likely be shot. 'Specially if I claimed t' be me." He shook his head, grinning wryly. "I've no idea 'ow I got 'ere. Suffered a concussion in th' wreck an' didn' wake up for a few days after arrivin'. Duvert told me I'd be goin' back once I was 'ealed."

He quirked a brow as the bottle was stolen from his grasp, lifting his eyes to the squirrel woman. He frowned as she drained the rest of his drink, trying to remember where he knew her from... She seemed familiar, but at the same time she didn't. Someone who had changed again, perhaps? ...Oh. OH. He cracked a grin. "Tell that t' Duvert, eh? Damn thing wasn' my idea. Wha's th' name, Antony? Ow've you been? Punched anyone else lately?"

Miller shivered as Thom continued to explain about the island. Nothing you can do... you've got a week... it sounded more like he was going to die then turn in to an animal none the less it made him feel sick to think about. "I- I- need to be excuessed for a moment..." he got up quickly moveing towards where ever the nearest bathroom was, he felt like being sick all of the sudden, maybe it was seeing the suirrle girl pop up behind Thom. Or a mix of all the news, still he felt horrible.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:59 am

Tristan's jaw dropped. Forever? No wonder she didn't know about California. She seemed childlike so perhaps she's been on the island since she was a child? Never had any teachers or anything to help her progress naturally? Were the labtechs that ******** up? Would they experiment and torture a child? The idea was sickening. He didn't even know what to say to that.

"I'm so sorry," he stated. How it made his own change feel so trivial. At least he didn't lose his entire life to this zoo. It was a rather sobering idea overall and the false fun feeling he had from the alcohol was fading away. "They are even more ******** up than I thought," he commented about the scientists. "I'm sorry to cut this short, princess, but I've had a lot to drink and I think I'm going to go home and crash." It was a lie. He wouldn't be able to sleep just yet. He just didn't want to be around the party anymore.

He bowed to the young.. feline woman, then turned and began the walk back to his duplex.

A brief expression of surprise surged across her features at his identification, but she soon covered it up in a skilled motion. Her tails, however, swished behind her in adgitation. Man, he seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick as far as serums went, -and- he must have crossed Dr. Duvert in some way shape or form.

Unless he really was a fruit?

"Funny. I haven't had the pleasure, unfortunately... Are you volunteering yourself Cinderella?" She gave him an exagerated bat of her eyelashes before setting the bottle down and grinning placidly.

Her eyebrow rose momentarily as the young, normal male excused himself to the bathroom so hastily that it was as if he were sea sick.
