Well, if it were 2 syllables it could be Many Pennies, or maybe even many Penny? Which makes no gramitical sense... or cents? biggrin
(But if the clue stunk, lets stick with scents!)
Ok, just recently stumbled upon this one: The area ruled over by a chinese noodle dish. (2)

She Elf The area ruled over by a chinese noodle dish. (2) Why do I want to say "ChowMein Domain?" Is it because it's correct?!?

I was thinking LoMein Domain - I had always thought that Chow Mein was a vegetable dish and LoMein was a Noodle dish (like skinny Udon), and that is the way it mostly is, in NYC, but recently upon going to a P.F. Changs, a national chinese chain, I see that they put noodles in their Chow Mein, so perhaps the rest of the world does and WE'RE just the odd ducks... but that's another dish altogether!!
Ok, your turn Terra!

Ok, your turn Terra! I think you're confusing "Chow Mein" with "Chop Suey," but that's a matter for another time... The best feeling of excessive pride (2)

The way most restaurants here serve it, Chow Mein is mostly sliced celery and onions, (with chicken, if it is chicken chow mein), and it is cooked a LOT so that the vegetables are very soft, and the sauce is white, and the whole dish is kinda soft and mild tasting. Chop Suey, on there other hand, here at least, is a combination of several different mixed vegetables, chopped into large pieces, and stir fried and served still somewhat crisp, and in a brownish sauce. Interesting bit of trvia BTW, I have no idea if this is really true or not, but I had heard that the origin of Chop Suey in the US at least, was several decades ago, and some people came in to a chinese restaurant as they were closing up for the night, and the customers asked please, could they make them something, so the owner went into the back and threw whatever left over vegetables he happened to have into a wok, brought it out and called it something that sounded like "Tsa Tsui", which meant something like left over vegetables, and the people thougt he said "Chop Suey" and liked it a lot and they came back and kept asking for Chop Suey. Not a clue if that is really a true story or not, but it is what I have heard.
Oh, and I am still working on your Silly Billy clue, terra biggrin

It's not difficult, Elf. Just split the phrase into two and it should be easy.
