Lostagrace was in the middle of their normal day to day boozing and debauchery. Posted a little ways before the city were three guards to watch teh surroudning areas and take care of any critters looking to make the inhabitants lunch. Piper apperaead on the horizon and one of the guards spotted her and raised teh alarm.

The town took teh warning, and for a few moments silence reigned in teh taverns. Then large gusty laughs echoed around as men predicted who the idiot would be this time and who would deal with him. It was agreed upon, Big Jack would handle him, invite him for a nice friendly card game. Of course the deck was marked and they'd all blatantly cheat. And when the newcomer called them out, he'd get his throat slashed. Easy enough. Tehn all valuables would be first picked over by Big Jack and later the rest of teh town. It wasn't much but Lostagrace had it's own system.

Lostagrace had long stopped caring that what tehy did was below and completely outside of the law. They were a bunch of thieves and had no problems admitting it.
It was easier to take valuables from a dead man than a live one and survivors were usually few though tehre had been some over the years.

Oh yeah, this looked all to inviting. Though she reached a hand back and took hold to Serino's mane, dropping back to walk in stride with his front half. She could at least keep the horse close. Didn't even give a look to the guards as she passed them, still holding a glare. Had to at least appear tough. But this looked like a good place to at least pick up some information if on nothing else than the tournament that was to soon come. And where was the best place to get information? Why your local tavern of course. Easy enough to find...it was the damned loudest place there and she just really walked in, leaving Serino outside, having a bored expression on her face as she took a seat at the bar, ordering something to drink. Time for an observation session. Hey if she was going to go back to Malik in worse condition than she left she might as well bring some useful information to appease the anger.

Serino stayed outside, stamping a hoof on the ground. Oh he didn't like this place one bit. And he didn't like the way people were looking at him...half of those looks seemed to scream horse thief at him...well no one would be touching him unless they wanted trouble.

A few looks at her as she walked in and some raised eyebrows. Chain mail and a deep purple cloak. Purple signified wealth and royalty and that meant this little lady might have a rich someone willing to pay a lot of money for her. But it had already been agreed upon, Big Jack would take care of her.

He stood up, 6'2 and at least 200 pounds of what had to be muscle. He clomped over to her and took a seat beside her at teh bar. "Big Jack. Welcome to Lostagrace. Care to tell me what a little girl like you is doin' way out here?" He waved his hands around at the seedy tavern she was sitting in.

Everyone was silent watching to see what she would do. At a glare from Big Jack they returned to their drinks and conversations though glances were continously shot over at teh two at the bar.

Big Jack drank his beer and signaled the bar tender. "Get the girl a drink. On me. What do you want?"

She didn't even look at his as the bar tender came by and dropped a drink in front of her, the one she had already ordered. "You don't need to know, and it's none of your business anyway." Of course she had a back up name should the issue be pressed, but he already revealed one thing...if they didn't know her then that mean the Piper before her didn't come her. Damn it. "But if you feel the need you can pay for my drink still." No, she wasn't going to tell him what she was drinking either. But she did give him a slight look. "Maybe I'm just stopping by on my way to the tournament in Deep Water." She took a sip of her drink and crossed her arms on the bar, taking to rather ignoring him. Big Jack...what a horrible name.

He shrugged and slapped the money for his own down. She wanted to act like that, she could buy her own damn drink. He gave a glare to some of the other occupants in the bar and then looked at teh girl sitting next to him. "Tournament? You?" He laughed, slamming his beer on teh bar as the whole bar erupted into gales of laughter. "Why don't you stop foolin' and go back home where you belong? It's a dangerous world sweetcakes, not everyone has good intentions." He drank some more beer. "You any good with that thing?" He nodded to the bow and arrow, then leaned in close, leeringly studying her collar. "That's nice. Mind if I see it?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2005 4:51 pm

She watched her glass rattle on the bar. Of course that would be the answer. Clearly these people were fooled into thinking she was human what with her ears covered up and all. Ah to be a lovely deceiving elf, looked like you could be broken in two but that was hardly the case. "Well not me in the tournament. I have my own entrants though, for your information. But if I felt the need to show off I would enter myself. You're rather foolish there to judge by looks, aren't you Big Jack." Oh yes, there was definite sarcasm in her voice there. "And I suppose you would be one of those without good intentions, lurking in taverns, approaching women and offering to buy them drinks." She paid more attention to her own drink a moment before he was again being annoying to her. "I'm excellent with it thank you very much..." Then she sort of leaned to the side as he leaned much much too close to her and had a certain look in his eyes. But a hand was brought up and placed on his shoulder, gripping a little and pushing him back while she righted herself. Obviously it was strength someone of her build shouldn't be able to have. "Nice yes, but no. That's stays on and that makes it off limits. Why don't you go regale your pals with some embellished tale now?"

He downed the rest of his beer, already well on his way to getting completely and irrevocably drunk and he grinned at her. "Ah but I asked for it and nobody denies Big Jack." He lunged at her, intending to rip it off of her neck but he missed and instead grabbed that purple cloak. He pulled out a switchblade and the deadly glint of the knife glittered in the dim light. "I said I wanted to see it!" He brought the knife up in an arc and teh sound of it slicing the air could be heard by both of them. "I'll spare you if you give it to me sweetheart."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2005 5:10 pm

Okay, she had pushed her luck there. But if she was scared, she didn't show it at all, barely gave a reaction to him because well your enemy always loved to see a good reaction from you. She he had her by the cloak now and her triple colored eyes were watching that knife now. "Can't take it off, it's a collar with a latch that needs a special key device." Of course being as agile as she was she unclipped her cloak, slipping out of it to be a good distance away from him. Probably faster than he even realized, clearly he had had more than one drink that night. Though she didn't want to draw a weapon out yet, however her hand dis rest on the grip of her whip. She learned long enough ago how to easily disarm a man with it. "Spare me? Do I look like a damsel in distress to you?"

He glared at her and then grinned at teh cloak in his hands and tossed it to one of his buddies. Then he turned back to her. "Don't lie to me wench. You can take that necklace off, now do it!" He turned back and then rushed her with the knife. He was no longer playing around with the girl. Her question caught him off guard for a moment and he screeched to a halt. "Damsel in distress? All women are. You are nothing against teh power of a male, a lesson all women must learn at some point." To prove his point, he grabbed a whore who was sitting in one of teh chairs. He took the knife and sliced her dress neatly in half so it gaped at the front. When she hastily went to close it, he smacked her in the face and knocked her on her a**. "See? And now it's your turn, ready sweetheart?" He started stalking her, backing her up slowly till she was against the wall.

He rushed at her, his big meaty feast lined up perfectly with her jaw. He brought his fist back, the knife in teh other hand and aimed it directly at her jaw. One hit and she'd be on teh floor and he'd get that damn necklace. He felt his fist connect with a satisfying crack. And then he turned and started back, not even waiting for the girl to crumple at his feet, it always happened. He loved doing this, it gave him such euphoria, he'd celebrate by buying another drink.

"Wench..." Oh he was asking for it. Though her retort was cut short by his apparent display to show the damsel in distress scenario, as well as a blatant display of his supposed superiority. Damn her human sympathizing ways. But then he made it clear that she was next on the list, who was this guy kidding? Bad move on her part, backing into a wall...had really misjudged her distance there. And also looking back at that wall she hit left an opening and the next thing she knew she was sliding halfway down the wall with her jaw on fire. On please don't let that be broken. But she didn't the floor at all. Piper merely staggered forward slightly, wiping blood away from her mouth as she righted her footing. Needless to say a few murmur came from their celebrating as she didn't go down like she was supposed to. "You ******** b*****d!" Drawing out her whip it was snapped forward to wrap around his ankle and with a rather good yank dropping him to the floor. Of course it was drawn back and she snapped it again, removing his knife from him. Hm, now she had a souvenir. Piper walked right over though and stood on top of him, one boot on his shoulder, the other on his chest. And his eyes would come to see a serrated poison soaked arrowhead aimed right between his eyes notched on a fully drawn back bow string. "Care to tell me to do something again? Or hit me maybe?" Okay, now she was in a bad mood...

He hit teh floor hard and cracked his head but he didn''t even feel it. Instead he went to get up when she was standing on him. "******** b***h." He howled when teh whip knocked his knife out of his hand. He reached out and wrapped a hand around her ankle, not really caring that there was an arrow aimed right into his face. He was going to drop her the saw way she had him, he could feel his reputation suffering. "Get off me you b***h, or you''re going to pay!" He grunted and groaned, bitching at her.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2005 5:51 pm

Piper growled and changed direction of her target for the man's elbow. All tension on that bow strike was released, sending the arrow with tremendous force right through flesh bone and muscle at his elbow joint, so hard that it embedded itself to the tavern flooring. OF course pain reflex made his hand ungrip at her ankle. Another arrow out and she repeated the same motion on the other. No, she didn't like to be hit at all. Then she notched another arrow, pulling back on it. "You want another one?" And she backed off, aiming the arrow to his crotch. "Perhaps here?" Of course she gave a sweeping look to the others present as well in warning that she'd treat them much the same, or worse.

He screamed in pain at the first and then just whimpered at teh second. "Son of a b***h!" He shook his head and tried to pull up his elbows. He couldn't and it hurt like a b***h. "God ********..." He was cursing and screaming and he was ready to cry. It hurt so ******** bad. "Alright...you win. Keep the god damn necklace."

Everyone in teh tavern kind of backed up adn shook their heads. They didn't want to mess with this girl. She meant business. The bartender picked up her purple cloak and tossed it to her. "Go on. You've proved your worth. Take your stuff and go."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2005 6:54 pm

The extreme tension on that bowstring seemed to be easily let up just as easily as it had been applied. And then she caught her cloak, taking a moment to throw her bow over her back before clipping it back on. "Why thank you, and I believe me drink is on the house, yes?" Leaning down she grabbed the shaft of her arrows and yanked...hard, ripping them from both floor and Big Jack. Ha, he wasn't so big now was he. "I suggest you learn to treat the women who cross your path a little better, never know when one might do you in." A satisfying smirk and glare as she wiped off the arrows and put them back in her quiver. Hell she wasn't leaving them...they were ones from the few original she had made with Cymarron. Then she merely walked out and mounted Serino then and there. "I think we've worn out our welcome and Malik is probably starting to worry, let's head back." She wiped at her mouth again, removing more blood. Her jaw felt broke but it probably wasn't, she had survived worse. Good thing they had memorized their tracks, so they could easily get back in no time.

Malik was indeed up, and watching the day to day activities of home. wasn't too far off from the original. a bit more gladiator type training, but he supposed that was becuase of the tournament. probably constant traingin to make sure any gladiators entered for it would be the best of the best. and his back, good lord. he looked like he'd been whipped. he woudl have to remember to cut that girls nails or something. but he was getting a bit concerned. he knew she'd been goign to explore, but she should have been back by now..which ment he was pacing in teh main hall, though paying attention to the suroundings. no buyers ever came. apparently the slave money was made entirely through gladiatorial competition or this apparent annual tournament.
