Well I did mess up the spelling on his name, however I think he may like to poke fun at me because of the fights between me and Ess Tii Eph Yue (AKA total b***h) on the "The bad and the hated: Which games/characters suck?" thread. people like her and QuistisTrepe19 only seem to be on that thread to make put downs on other peoples views and opinions. I was planing on making a really great essay on why Aeris sucks but then they started teasing me behind my back, saying stuff like "Oh I bet you five gold she wont be back." and "Yeah she'll probably come back with some crap she pulled out of the Internet a**." Anyway I realized that, even if I did write a great and logical essay on "Why Aeris Sucks", people like them would be to stupid and juvenile to admit they were wrong. So I decided to forget it and not play into their game. I'm not saying this is the reason for the joke but it could be confused

From what I have seen soadshuyin seems to be a very nice, reasonable, mature, guy but I can't say that for sure because I don't know him personally. I mean he very well could have made a joke about my spelling error, because he saw an opportunity to be mean to me with out looking like a jerk to everyone. Anyway weather he doesn't like me or not I kind of wish he would post here more often, because I know he's a Clotif fan, and I think he could contribute much to this thread. 3nodding

Trust me if that conversation would have been in person they would have been running home crying with less teeth then they came with stressed IT also would have been nice if some one would have defended me even once since I wasn't wrong and they were just being rude. Anyway I'll divert the conversation in another direction. I recently found this on a Vintif fanlisting and thought it was very interesting. The sequel factor(s). Then we have the barrage of FFVII sequels. The applicable ones in this case are Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus.
As Tetsuya Nomura, director of AC, said in an interview available on AdventChildren.Net, Advent Children is just a representation of one of the many possibilities of the aftermath of FFVII. In other words, Advent Children, and follow-ups to it such as Dirge of Cerberus, are not canon. Most likely, Nomura made this distinction to avoid offending any FFVII fans who are opposed to the idea of sequels.
Therefore, anything that happens in those movies/games should not be treated or touted as canon. I noticed many Vincent fans are disgusted by Yuffie playing a major role in Dirge of Cerberus; given what Nomura said, this disgust is needless. Square Enix is just giving a nod to young fangirls that way (they did this before in FFX-2, with the various references to Auron that can be found in some of Rikku's dresspheres). So does this statement truly mean that AC and DoC isn't cannon? And if they're not cannon does that mean that BC, CC, and LO aren't cannon either?

It depends on what you consider canon to be... some people look at canon and think "made by the original creators"... then yes, all the FFVII sequals and prequals are canon. If you consider canon to be "a creator's original context without outside influence"... then no, these additions are not canon. It relates close to what I talked about in the "What do you think of Tifa Lockheart" thread when I discussed the differences of Tifa in the original game and of the Tifa we see in AC (an so on). Again this applies to all features of FFVII; characters, plot, concept, settings, etc. (If you want to know more on the concept of Tifa read my other rant) One big thing we all forgot about when the additionals came out was the multitude of theories that came out of the ending. To many Advent Children was pretty accurate, others thought Cloud and Tifa would be married by now, some thought Aeris came back to life, some (me included) thought that Cloud had died, or that the entire human race was wiped out... the list goes on. Also, if you really are open minded to the concepts and pay attention there really is evidence supporting all of these and NO real evidence disproving any of them. For AC think about this, if Cloud and Tifa were married that would piss off Cleris fans, if Aeris came back to life Clifa fans would resent the strengthening of rivalary as well as it would make people who felt Aeris' death was a key point to why the story is so deep and beautiful feel cheated, if Cloud were dead there would not be nearly as much fandom for the sequal, and if the entire human race died there would really be no sequal at all. The path taken by AC was a smart way to continue the story to make the potential sales without discouraging or pissing off fans. An original creation governed by fickle fandom. We can still enjoy it and rather or not you consider it canon rests on what you think it means to be canon.
