May watched it all. Her head pounded with confusion. It didn't make any sense. She did noticed Jaime touch the pendant.
She looked at Rosette and then Chrono in her arms. She need to get back to the ship but...
"What was he talking about?" She asked confused. "What consequences?" Something was fishy here, she need to know what. Her dream was to sail on ship like the Seraphim, but what would she be stepping into. "What's going on?" She looked from Tenyeera, to Rosette, to Jaime and then back at Rosette. She was, somewhere deep down inside, scared but the majority of her felt the thril of it. Mystery and adventure, the things she always wanted...But would she want them now?

"Don't worry about it." Rosette answered. "It has to do with us, not the ship crew."
She was about to continue, but instead stopped and looked her up and down.
"Wait a minute... Who the hell are you?"

Something still felt odd but she nodded.
"Oh, I'm sorry... I'm Mylene Quspa...I help him," She pointed to the boy on Rosette's shoulder, "find you. I'm join you all on the Seraphim. Just call me May." May gave a smile and then looke at Jaime. She felt kind of proud for helping but she wondered why Rosette and Chrono would be danger...need protecting. She hoped the Captain knew what ever the reasons.
"We should hurry back..." She trailed off, it was an obvious statement.

Tanyeera nodded curtly in agreement with May's statement. "Give him to me." she gestured at Chronos' limp form. "I'm stronger than you or most any other human, I should be able to carry him easier." She wasn't very happy about the fact that Rosette had seen fit to clobber Chronos, but she wasn't about to argue about it either.
A certain amount of exposure to humans had made her realise that if she started an argument now, Rosette would most likely bring up "morality". And once that was brought up, the argument could go on forever. Dragons had much simpler notions of "morality". If one transgressed against the Draconian Code, the offended party would administer whatever justice he saw fit and none would raise a claw to stop him.
Humans, she realised, were quite different. The shopkeeper had imprisoned Rosette against her will. Under Draconian Laws, since Rosette apparently did not wish to harm him, he would be given unto Chronos' charge since Chronos had been the next offended party to Rosette. That meant that Chronos had every right to kill him if that was what he wished.
However, there was the troublesome issue of "morality" again. Tanyeera sighed but kept silent. The man was a human, so she supposed it was fitting for him to be judged under human laws and morality. It still didn't make sense to her though.

"No, I have him, I'll carry him."Rosette said as she made her way towards the door. "And you, Jamie, just be happy I'm in a more forgiving mood. Otherwise, you'd be dead right now."

Tanyeera gestured May to go ahead of her, determined to shepherd everyone back to the ship with no one getting lost or kidnapped or misplaced again. She didn't spare a glance for the shopkeeper.

"If you go to Peregre, you all will more then likely die." Jamie quickly said as he gained his composer. "It is my warning to you, not a threat. He went back to the counter and took out a safety deposit box. He opened it and took out twenty-five gold coins. This, he went to give to Rosette. "I told ye I would compensate for ye, and ye might as well take this as well." He said, extending his other hand that held the dagger he used against Rosette. "We don't sell used weapons and it should sell for a couple of gold pieces if ye don't want to keep it." He extended both his hands as if begging her to take them. "And if ye happen to survive, come back here and I'll get ye that horse I promised ye as well."

May closed her eyes for a moment. Could she admit that her confusion was fun? Could she admit to herself that this was fun?
"We have to go...We don't want to miss the boat." She said heading for the door. She didn't like that the kidnapper was giving the kidnappe items of value. It held the intention of curses and evil-magic to her. She knew Jamie but not like this.
Could she admit that she felt a thril in the odd danger she felt? Could she admit that she was her mother's daughter?
Could she leave?
She closed her eyes for a second again. She could not turn back. She would lead the group back to the Seraphim and force herself upon the boat. She wanted this and she would take it. Her father would be just fine, it would not be forever after all. Forever was a long time...
She opened her eyes again. She cursed herself for the second thoughts, this had never been a hard choice. She had always expect it to be easy board the boat and sail away on an adventure and then sail back with stories and riches and fame...Why the second thoughts? The danger was the mage not her. She could not ever say she didn't think about staying...perhaps that made her a better person.
She focused and waited for Rosette to either take or dismiss the items and then she would go .

Rosette looked at the items for a second as if he was offering her a strange bug, then smiled, though it was a half-hearted one.
"Keep your favors." Rosette replied. "I can understand your sentiments, a lot of people I met previous to this voyage were against it. Though you're the only one with the balls so far to go through with it. Perhaps I will come back, but will have to settles this over a few drinks, yes?"
Chrono groaned and moved his head a little, Rosette adjusted her grip on his arm to keep him from falling over.
"Let's be off then, shall we?"Rosette said, starting for the door as she glanced back at Jamie. "And if you've got any buddies ready to stop us on the way back, I suggest you warn them now, Tanyeera's gonna tear into them like the wrath of hell if they piss her off!"

Tanyeera scowled in equal parts warning to the shopkeeper and exasperation of Rosette. Humans were strange creatures indeed. First, not letting Chronos kill her kidnapper and then arranging to meet up with hom over some drinks! This was riiculous!
Tanyeera resolved to keep a very close eye on Rosette in the future. She was far too nice and innocent to be allowed to wander off by herself.

He smirked at Rosette's comment. "Aye, it'll be my treat. And didna worry, no one is going to stop ye from gettin' on the ship. Now ye best be off, we both have business to attend to.... Well, you do at least." He said, gancing at his now horrified customer. "Ye almost scairt my customer to death." He commented before turning to his customer and hope to explain wha just happened.... Well, as much as he was allowed to.
Seamus kept running until the signal from his pendant stopped. He stopped as well and checked his pendant. Good, Jamie must be ok. Which is more then he deserves. He thought bitterly. Jamie had stepped over his bounds and endangered both himself and the mission. He just sighed and started to walk back to the Seraphim. He would deal with Jamie later.

"Oh, by the way, new kid." Rosette shot back to May as they left. "Name's Rosette, and this soon-to-be whiny pruple-haired twerp is Chrono. As far as he knows, none of us wanged him on the head, K? he tends to get a bit outta hand at times. Little guy's got the patience of a saint, but when he loses it... Wooooooah..." Rosette finished, making a long, sweeping motion with her hand.
"Yeah, don't let that little outburst frighten ya? This guy's as sweet as they get. Give his right arm to make people feel better. Real caring kinda guy!"

May smiled. "I kinda figured he would be." She said led the way back the ship. She was beginning to wonder why she had thought twice. A little danger and she froze. She tried to shurg it off, she knew Jaime and knew he wouldn't hurt her...why was she so scared?
She felt better when she saw the Seraphim. "Your a mage right?"

"Yep, that's me, and a damn good one if I do say so myself." Rosette answered with a chuckle. "I thinks there's a couple of others on board, but I haven't had much time to chat with all the work I've got. Chrono here's been getting a might bit friendly with some of the crew, especially after getting a bit seasick earlier! Ha!"

Rhiannon quickly let the light-hearted feeling in her heart fall. She knew as her friend said it that something was going on at the dock, and she hoped with all that was in her that it had nothing to do with the Seraphim. There was little chance of that, though. It was not everyday that an Emperor's ship sailed into port, and the grand vessel tended to attract all kinds of attention. Her face fell grim, and she pushed ahead, knowing that Nerissa would likely be beside her.
"If I were a betting woman, I would say that the Seraphim is somehow involved in this... Come!" she said to Nerissa, though it wasn't necessary, breaking into the more open area of the harbor. She approached the ship just in time to see a small ensemble run off, including their sole Navigator and the Dragon in disguise. She slowed and stared after them.
"Where are they going in such a hurry? Has something happened?" she asked anyone in earshot, her gaze not leaving the party even as they disappeared around a corner. She felt any hopes sink. Maybe this voyage would be a disaster after all.
