The joy of her tone about the cushiony little white fluffy mellows made him chuckle softly. Plopping a handfull to coat the bottom of the cup, he retreated to the fridge for some cream as she spoke. His pointed ears giving a small twicth as his eyes peered bak at her, the small bottle of cream held in his hands as he turned towards her.
"Well, life is worth the time. It's because of all those bad memories and pasts that made you such a strong woman." He nodded. At least he was trying to be comforting.. he wasn't too sure how to console the butterfly on such matters.
Well, if anything, he could resort to one thing.
The water boiling now in a mellow manner, he slipped his attention back to the cups and poored a equal and mild mannered amount of cream before the coco mix. Placing the cream down, he slipped to the boiling kettle and removed it from the hot stove after turning the flame off.
Pooring the cups, he stirred it and started to put things away.
Taking up the two cups, he slowly walked over and set the large mug before her and eyed her nervious habbit.
"What would that incident be dear Fi?" He asked gently, slipping into his own seat beside her.

Fiona looked up at him, into his trusting clear eyes. She felt an instant comfort from him, knowing that his intentions and curiosities were purely out of concern. She smiled a bit and took the mug up to take a sip before she began to speak.

"About six years ago, I met a man and fell in love with him. He wasn't a rich man, like my other sisters' suitors, but he had a big heart and a beautiful spirit. Our eyes met in the market, where he worked in the vegetable stall, and it was instant love." She half smiled as she got a bit dreamy over the memory. "Since he didn't have a lot of money, he showed his love for me in other ways.....he wrote songs for me, wrote poetry, took me out on picnics, and showed me how to have fun in the simplest ways. I was content with that, but he worked himself to the bone to give me anything I asked for, even if I didn't ask for it.

"Soon, he proposed to me. I was speechless at first and he thought I was going to reject him. He thought it had to do with his status, but I told him that I would gladly give up my noble life of lonely wealth so that I could be happy with him in simplicity. We planned the wedding to be the first day of spring, when our love began. I was so blinded by happiness that I couldn't see the things my sister, Mina, was doing behind my back.

"The day of the wedding, I was waiting for him at the church, wearing my mothers wedding dress. My family and his were all there.......well, all but one. Minutes passed by and he hadn't come. Then, it turned into hours....3 hours. My father went to see if he could find him. He came back and told me that he and Mina had eloped, leaving me at the altar. His entire family was ashamed and left immediately to see if they could hunt him down. They never succeded. He and my sister had vanished.

"I was so heartbroken that I didn't leave the altar.....I just stood there in the dress, holding my bouquet, silently crying. By nightfall, my parents came back for me. I wouldn't move, so my father carried me home."

She let out along, saddened sigh. She lifted the mug to take a long drink of the comforting cocoa, looking up to him to see what his reaction would be.

~*The First Step*~
******************

Months after her original discoveries, things hadn't gotten much better for Roselina. Her attitude had become disgruntled and her dreams disturbed her daily. School therapists and counselors were of no use. None of them could understand. The lack of answers and meanings disturbed her so much that it wore on her very nerves. Her former friends now scattered from her presence, for fear of becoming victims of her frustrations. Such things had isolated her and only caused her to become more cold and bitter. Her parents worried for her. Not knowing what to do, they took a recommendation from a friend and contacted a woman who was known for having a way with troubled people.

Now, Roselina was in a taxi, her things packed and her mind remembering the words from her parents. She knew they loved her and that they were trying to help. She would try to accept whatever help this person had to offer. She looked out the window and smiled as she saw the passing scenery; a long shoreline with the horizon covered in beautiful blue ocean. Her eyes widened when she saw their encroaching destination. The manor was huge! It was stone and wood, but it was beautiful, perched upon a cliff by the sea. Was this really where she was going to be? When the taxi stopped, she took that as her answer. She exited the cab and walked up the stairway that was carved right into the cliff's rock, leading up to the front door. Even the door was huge. It towered over her in a large oaken arch. Gulping slightly, she reached out and lifted the knocker, letting it bang back against itself. She listened to it echo through the hallways, and now she waited, smoothing her skirt down nervously.

It took a while, but footsteps could be heard quickly approaching. Soon, the heavy oaken door swung open to reveal the owner of the house. Yaruka smiled when she saw the guest and opened the door fully.

"Ah! You must be Roselina," Yaruka said with a smile, reaching out to gently shake the mouse's hand, "I'm so glad you got here safely. Come on, I'll help you with your things. I have a room all set up for you. I hope you like it." She giggled a bit and immediately headed off down the stairs towards the taxi.

Roselina blinked a bit at the woman's enthusiasm. She couldn't help but smile. She was as friendly as her parents had told her. That she was thankful for. Perhaps this was going to be a good thing after all. She hurried to follow Yaruka, trying to catch up.

"I want to say thanks, Miss Yaruka, for taking me in and helping me out." She looked to the side a bit, "I don't want to impose upon you too much, so I'll try to stay out of your way."

"Oh stop talking nonsence, sweetie." Yaruka called back as they got to the taxi. She headed for the trunk, which the cabby already opened, and started taking out the bags carefully, trying not to get sand on them.

"You're not the first person with troubles. You'll fit in nicely around here." She smiled back at Roselina with a giggle, "Just mind a few of the housemates. They're not nearly as bad as they seem." With that, she heaved a few bags onto her shoulders and sprinted back towards the manor.

Roselina smiled and watched her as she sprinted with about four of her medium sized bags on her shoulders. She was strong, that's for sure, and not your orginary woman. She would figure it all out later. For now, she grabbed the remaining bags and followed Yaruka back up the stairs.

She wandered down the hallways as close as she could, trying her best not to get lost. Amidst their wanderings, she saw little creatures running around, laughing and playing as they zoomed past. She heard Yaruka chiding them about running in the halls. She sounded like their mother. Roselina smiled brightly and looked around the other surroundings. The hallways were made with grandure and great height. So many doors leading to so many mysterious places. If she hadn't looked ahead, she might have bumped into Yaruka since the woman had stopped in front of one of the mysterious doors.

Yaruka smiled to Roselina and swung the ornate oak door open to reveal a big, lavish room filled with all the creature comforts a teenager could love and want. It was decorated in the colors Roselina's parents said were her favorite, in beautiful designs and patterns. It was enough to make the girl gasp audibly, which made Yaruka smile. She set the bags down in the middle of the room, looking back to her.

"I hope you like your room. I tried to make it comfortable for you."

Roselina couldn't believe her eyes. This was like her dream room! She set her bags down and twirled around in the large room, giggling and taking it all in. She flopped down on the large, soft bed and snuggled into the fluffy pillows, inhaling the sweet scent of lilacs and jasmine.

"It's beautiful!" She said breathlessly, "I love it, Yaruka. Thank you so much! I'll never be able to repay you."

Yaruka smiled and shook her head a little.

"You needn't try to. Just enjoy yourself and seek me out if you need any help." She nodded to her and turned back to the door. "I'll be around if you have questions. For now, make yourself at home." With that, she closed the door behind her and let Roselina make herself comfortable.

It was a lovely day indeed. The sun was shining, the temperature was warm, and the ocean billowed with waves that caressed the glassy shore with its foamy tendrils. The sand was soft as could be and warmed under the suns rays. It was nice to walk upon, warming the bare feet of a winged man that walked along the shoreline, the clean seabreeze caressing through his obsidian locks.

Nebiros was enjoying himself today. It was a nice day compared to some of the nasty weather that had been coming by. Such a glorious day shouldn't go ignored and would definitely be enjoyed to the fullest. For such a day to be enjoyed, one couldn't wear leather, so he opted for some sexy black swim trunks. He really couldn't help himself as he moved to lay back upon the warm sand, a contented noise escaping him as he felt it reach all of his back.

Sweet relaxation. This was a lovely day, indeed. He was half tempted to take a dip in the ocean, but he was feeling too lazy at the moment. Still, for such a nice day, something was missing..........but what?

Calanthia was lost but it didn't bother her. IN her hands was a blue bag full of a sweet smelling aroma. Fresh baked cookies. She finally found her way out of the forest and gasped at the ocean's scene. "BEAUTIFUL!" She immediately ran towards it but stopped as she saw a figure.

She tied the blue bagn to around her waist and slowly approached. It was a male figure and she was unfamiliar with this one. So, being her usual bengal self she came right up to him. "Hi. Would you happen to know where this location is, Sir? I'm just a little lost." She smiled sweetly.

The phoenix male had his eyes closed at that moment, doing nothing but enjoying the warm sand and the sound of the waves. However, a lovely female voice caught his attention, and he opened his icey blue eyes to find the source.

Well well, what's this? He thought to himself as his eyes took in the lovely woman above him. Nebiros grinned a little, turning it into a friendly smile as he stood up slowly, flapping his wings a bit to shake the sand out of his feathers.

"Well, my dear, it appears you've made your way to my home." He explained in his smooth, soft-spoken voice, "My cousin owns that manor over there and this beach." He pointed back with his thumb towards the large stone manor that was about 5 minutes away from them

"Forgive me, it seems I've forgotten my manners. My name is Nebiros. And what might yours be?"

"Ah, so I haven't reached outside of the territory yet." She sighed with relief. Her violet eyes shifted back to stare at him and her smile was warm. "Nice to meet you Nebiros. My name is Calanthia but please, call me Cala." She smiled as she turned her face to the ocean. "This home.. its so nice and warm here! I can't believe you live in such a glorious place, Nebiros." She turned to smile to him as her feline tail flicked and her long red ponytail with her bangs drifted in the air around her with the ocean's breeze.

The man before her was infact very handsome and she couldn't help but to force herself to stare at the ocean instead of him. "You say your cousin owns this place? You must come from a wealthy family." She theng asped as she turned back to face him. "Oh my! With your lounging, I hope I haven't bothered you! If I have done so, I will be on my way."

Nebiros smiled when he listened to her. She enjoyed to talk, it seems. Either that, or she was nervous. He couldn't help but chuckle. Cala.....what a lovely name. Had she disturbed him? Hardly.

"Not at all," He said before taking her hand in his, "In fact, I think this day was missing the company of someone as lovely as you." He brought her hand up to kiss the back of it lightly, getting that suave smile and glint in his eyes.

"Well, myself, I wasn't very wealthy....but my cousin manages fine on her own and has graciously accepted me here. I think it's lovely, being near the beach. You can just walk out the door to seek salvation."

Calanthia giggled and smiled him. In a swift shift, her fingers laced themselves with his and now she held to his arm. "Well, dear Nebiros, if I have not disturbed you and since this is your residence, would you mind taking me on a walk and a tour of your lovely home here?" The feline watched his movement. Would he be offended or take her actions to h eart?

Nebiros blinked a bit in shock. She moved fast.....and he liked that. He couldn't stop the grin that spread over his face, holding her hand securely as she clung to his arm.

"Of course, my dear Cala. What kind of host would I be if I refused?" He said as he already started walking with her down the beach, heading up towards the manor.

"So, Cala, how is it you ended up lost? I wouldn't think it hard to do so around here."

Calanthia giggled and smiled as she came to rest her head against his shoulder. "I was searching for an aquaintance of mine who lives in the forest when I took a wrong turn and came out of the forest for the first time today. I didn't even know there was an ocean here!" She looked out at the water. "Such a peaceful place here."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 10:32 pm

Nebiros nodded as he heard her story, smiling a bit. He suppsed it was easy to get lost in the forest, but he hardly did being that he generally flew over it.

"Yes, it's very peaceful on a day like this," He said off-handedly, "You could say that this place is well hidden, yet conveniently close to where everything and everyone is. I'm surprised that no one really knows about it, since the ocean waves crash so loudly, but I suppose the forest makes for a good sound barrier."

He led her to the stairway at the edge of the cliff that the manor stood upon. The stairs were carved directly into the cliff itself, only the rails installed for safety. He led her up them slowly, making sure he didn't tire her out.

"I must warn you; there are many little ones that run about in this place, so don't be surprised if you come close to being knocked over."

Calanthia clung to him a little more tightly up these stairs, not trusting the railings themselves. She smiled warmly to him. "My home has many roaming the halls as well so I am more then prepared for such. But thank you." The bengal's tail was out in a stiff fashion to help her keep her balance. "Besides, you'll protect me, won't you Nebiros?" Her violet eyes watched him for a reaction.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 10:43 pm

Nebiros smiled down to her as they reached the doorway.

"Of course, I will. I wouldn't want such a lovely thing to be harmed." As he said that, he swung open the large oak door to reveal the stone and marble entranceway, watching a hall ahead of them to see a couple of the resident pets running past.

"Seems safe, for now." He led her inside, still holding her hand securely as their footsteps echoed in the entrance before being softened by carpet in the main hallway. It split in three directions; a continuing hallway ahead of them and two hallways on either side, both of which had a staircase at the end of them and the walls had many labled doors on them.
