Hypno:

That's still sweet of you.
*giggle* That's awesome!

That would be nice. Can't afford it though.

rofl I'm certainly not that beautiful!
But thank you, that's quite a compliment! <3

Yeah, a lot of times they'll drop after they've been out for a bit.

Yeah, he is a smart guy.
I don't think that intelligence really has anything to do with if you find a person good-looking or not.
I would have to say that intelligence does play a factor in attraction though

--•--

Thanks Hypno *hug*

Well, I'm over a year older than Hubby.
I agree with what Nana said... I mean 11 & 19 would be bad!
I've dated guys a lot older than me too. Things just never... I mean there's a reason I was single when I met Hubby. There are a lot of factors that go into who you want to marry and I don't think that age is one of the BIG ones... hope that makes sense.

Nana:
redface Thanks. <3
You have a beautiful personality too.

That's good that it wasn't too bad for the furniture. 3nodding

Hey everyone, guess what? A friend of mine died this last Saturday. She was an amazing lady. She was my grandfather's secretary and she was basic in me learning to read and write. She was also a great baker as she made me some awesome cakes for my birthday (on many occasions). I'm really gonna miss her... crying She died at 85 btw.

Well, as long as you like it and appreciate the effort I'll keep doing it. I mean, not that it's THAT much of an effort but still, he-he. mrgreen I can't always give it many hugs but at least, I shall try (even though I usually do, instead of try).

Aww, that's too bad. You know, if I make a lot of money with my stories I could always invite you to a spa myself. Say, if you want to help me out with that, you can always visit www.rachaelray.com and let her know about an aspiring writer who doesn't know how to get in the business from Guatemala. sweatdrop

Well, I don't care how you or SK look, but to me, you'll always be good looking people. I always picture you guys as if SK was Brad Pitt & you were Charlize Theron. That woman is amazingly gorgeous! 3nodding

Let's hope soo... The item known as cupid is probably more affordable anyway.

I thought so. And yer right, it doesn't matter whether yer intelligent or not to appreciate beauty but it helps. And I agree with you that a smart person is more attractve than a dumb one. 3nodding

Yer welcome Jen! *hugs back*

Thanx for answering! I think yer way of thinking does make sense.
I keep wondering though, if I meet a girl I feel very attracted to. How long should I wait till I let her know how I feel about her? I'd really like to know yer thoughts on that and if it depends on age or not. Like, if she happens under 18, should I wait till she's 18? I think so but, I rather know what other think about this...

Hypno:
I'm sorry to hear that.
It's always hard when you lose somone that you care about.

*giggle* I do appreciate your thoughfulness. heart

Well good luck with your writing.
My dad thinks that I sould consider writing... like professionally.
I love to write, but it's more of a hobby thing.

rofl Thanks.

Proably.
A lot of the v-day items have probably come down.
If not they likely will shortly.

You're welcome.
Why not ask her on a date?
If she's under 18 you might want to wait.
Part of the reason that Nana and I mentioned 18 is because of the legal issues here. I don't know if there are the same sort of issues there in Guatamala...
Of course that's not the only reason, but... uh, yeah...

Hey Jen! It's ok, really. I know I will miss her a lot but, at least she had a long and good life, right? I still remember when she used to work for my grandpa. Since the office was in our house I would just go in and see what they were doing. Most of the times they were busy and my grandpa wouldn't have me there but, sometimes, when my grandpa wasn't around, she would welcome me and even teach me stuff like, how to add and subtract. That was part of her job as she was a secretary. She also helped me in learning how to read and when she was too busy, she gave me a sliding panel puzzle to keep me from distracting her, he-he. After a few years, I she would even bake cakes for my birthday. My most favorite was the one she made me with some "smurf" figurines and she even made some of their houses. Wasn't she the coolest? Wow! I really got carried away there, didn't I? mrgreen Anyways, she was an amazing lady for sure. 3nodding

Sure, don't worry about it.

Thanx! I'll always appreciate any help with that. rolleyes

Oh yeah, you are welcome!

You know? I ended up getting the "my friend cupid" item as it was way more affordable.

Right! That's what I thought... I suppose I could always try and ask my other female friend out for a date. She's a bit older than I am and I think she's single.
Oh and for the record, I think we have similar legal issues here but I'm not sure. After all, not everyone in my country seems to abide by the law. rolleyes

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Ferdinand. But she lives in in such sweet memories. She sounds amazing. ^___^

Jay and I actually met here on Gaia... about almost four years ago this March. eek Time sure flies! But as soon as we started talking here, we moved over to IM (something which he really hates) and phone (which he really really hates), and it just seemed like we'd always known each other.

I'm the worst person to ask relationship stuff. sweatdrop I've never had any other boyfriends besides Jay, but Jen's right. You never know until you try, right?

PS Jen you look ADORABLE! Again! mrgreen

Hypno:
Sounds like a neat lady. 3nodding

Yeah, at the least she'll be flattered that you're interested. wink

Nana:
Time sure does fly!

Thanks. heart

Thank you both! She was inded the greatest. She was the kindest, most gentle soul you could ever meet. Actually, Jen's mom reminds me of her because she's equally generous and well, you get the picture.

Nina:

Gee, isn't that curious? Bt you two live in the same area, don't you? I mean, you don't live in separate countries, right? Cuz that can be a bit of a problem if you ask me. I've met some cool ladies here that I wish I could date but I'm stuck here in Guate and I haven't met any women here that also live in my country. Strange, huh? rolleyes

And yer right, until we try we're just gonna wonder about it. The thing is, if I blow it, I doubt there's gonna be a second chance. mrgreen

Jen:

You think so? Hmm... I just wish there was a way I could know if a lady is interested without messing up my chances, he-he. Oh boy... sweatdrop

Another question:

If you were given the chance to modify your own body (to make it more resilient to things for example), would you go for it?
This could make for an interesting conversation, me thinks... mrgreen

Hypno:
My mom is an AWESOME lady!
I can see why you'd miss your friend.

Really. I mean when a guy aked me out I was always flattered that he was interested... even if I wasn't interested in him. Of course the way I felt if a guy had the guts to ask me out I woud go on at least one date with him. Give him a chace you know.

Modify like plastic surgery or like just at will?

Hey Jen! Nice to see you around...

And yes, yer mom sure is awesome. Too bad we're all on this earth for a limited amount of time. cry

I see... That was so nice of you to grant at least one date. It makes me wonder if the two ladies I'm interested in are like that or not at all. I guess I should find out, hmm?

And what I meant by the body modification was this:
What if you could look as you are right now on the outside but, your body was no longer "organic". Meaning that you could live for a far longer period of time and the effects of aging wouldn't matter one bit. This could be great for people who had to travel through the vastness of space as they could actually explore a lot of it.
What do you think? Could something like this be worth going for?
PostPosted: Sat Mar 08, 2008 1:48 am

Hypno:
Thanks.

I don't know about that. I certainly woudln't want to live forever. But yes it is sad to say good-bye to those that we've come to care about.

I went on more dates that I asked out than that I was asked out... I know how it feels. Besides, really if somone has the guts to admit that they're interested and ask you on a date why not give them a chance?

Hmm... I don't know.

Hey Jen! Busy lately? That's a rhetorical question cuz I know you are usually busy. mrgreen

I wasn't talking about us humans livng forever but for some people, the good ones, it would be nice if they stuck around for longer. Know what I mean? After all, some of them don't even get to live to see 65; ike my grandma. cry

I see yer point. You are truly a wonderful gal to think that way. You know, I'm really getting all inspired here and I must have to think of a way to ask her out, not to mention the right opportunity. What do you think a proper way to do it would be?

Oh and, it's ok, you don't have to answer right away. I wasn't thinking of a way to live forever but, just an alternative to live for a longer period of time without the nasty disadvantages of aging. You know?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 10, 2008 1:54 pm

Always a lot going on.

I don't know. I know there are people who have passed on that I miss, but at the same time I woudln't want to stick around forever.

redface Thanks. That's the way I feel though. Well I guess that all depends. For like school dances I used to get creative about asking a guy, but just for dinner or something just ask in person, or on the phone depending on the situation. *shrug*

I can't think imaginatively enough to imagine how I'd change my body. I think if I could, I'd get a nice uterus that actually works properly and doesn't make me either have to take a medication that makes me allergic to the sun or suffer through yuckiness. sweatdrop

Other than that, I don't think I'd want to live longer.

What about you, Ferdinand? What would you change?

Yeah, Jay and I at least lived in the same country, but on opposite sides of it. It was a seven hour plane flight from one side to the other. In the first two years, we saw each other twice in person. The rest of the time was spent online or on the phone.

But I do know a couple that are going out and are in different countries. One is in England and the other is in Canada. eek They're really a sweet couple, and he has gone out to see her like twice in the past year. Can't be easy, you know?

Jen:

I knew it! I hope you get some rest (or vacation) time soon.

I suppose you would be like Portia, you know who I mean? I mean the lady who married Andrew (the robot) in the movie Bicentennial man. You know? He wanted her to live forever but she didn't want that so, he arranged to die with her. Isn't that something?

Yer welcome Jen. And thanks for the suggestions. I guess I should review the situation carefully. 3nodding

Nina:

Gee Nina, that must be tough. Is that a result of an illness you had as an infant or, possibly an accident?
If it was me, I'd like to be able to live longer, not forever mind you but still...
I gotta tell ya, I like myself and everything but there's one thing I'd like to change and it's my beard. Other than that, if I had the chance, I'd like to change my body so instead of being organic, it would be sort of silicon based so it wouldn't age as an organic body would. It would be nice to no longer need to feed (ergo, no more bathroom breaks) or even sleep every night. I figure your brain would still need some kind of break but not so often maybe, I don't know. I have a story where humans learned to do something similar to this. What do you all think?

That's cool Nina. At least you don't need any documents to travel and see each other, do you?
And yer right, it can't be easy but it helps if you have money. mrgreen
