Adencia, hearing Kayoe’s voice, stopped slamming against the door for a moment.
“Of course I am!” she shouted to him, “I wont be strong enough to even change involuntarily until about midday! Garren locked my door!”
Adencia threw herself against the door again and it continued to splinter at a slow rate. She clenched her fists angrily and kicked the door. The air around her stirred and she smiled maliciously, her anger calling the elements to her side.
“Back away from the door.” She yelled to Kayoe as she stepped away from the door.
Channeling her energies she bladed he hand and called fire to it. She sent it out to the door, burning a vertical line down the center. Cutting of the fire with a flick of her wrist she left the door charred down the center. Twisting her hands in the sorcery art forms of her ancestors she blasted the door with gale force wind and kicked it with a firm heel in quick succession, breaking it in half.
The two door halves fell to the ground burnt, charred, splintered and blasted. She stepped out of her room, having regained her composure, though she still wore an angry scowl. Adencia kicked a piece of the door and looked up to Kayoe.
“I only wish I could do that all the time.”

Trimley He gazed up at her in awe at the mentioning of 'arcane tomes.' Cerdik had access only to the book he currently clutched to his chest like a life raft. It was his one and only source of study, and had been that way since he discovered magick. "You have access to tomes of elder times? I have yearned for such an opportune instance to befall me the entirety of life. If it be plausible, excuse my pleading for iteration and indulgence on the matter." He paused, still trying to take it all in. The amazement still lingered, and Cerdik had a newly found respect for this servant of Gods. Still, he wondered if his hacked speech sounded alien or incomprehensible at times. A larger portion of the people he had encountered in life had trouble interpreting his speech. Tanyeera chuckled. "Of course, knowledge-seeker. I would be pleased to indulge you. I gathered the books piecemeal over the ages to pore over in the rare instances when I have nothing to do and I have been dying to discuss their contents with someone for eons. Unfortunately, there are few with the desire to rediscover such knowledge and fewer still who already know it. Thus, I have been confined to holding imaginary arguments with the authors of such scrolls and books and would be only too pleased to lend you my books so I might discuss it with you. However...." Tanyeera cocked an inquisitive eyebrow. "I should warn you, those books sometimes speak so cryptically, your speech would sound like simple baby talk. You might have a bit of trouble understanding them. I know I did. One of the books took me three whole years to decipher and it was not even in another language. If you still wish to read them however, you are welcome. But...if I may request a favor? I do not recognize that book you carry about with you and I know most of the major books of magic. Please, may I read it?" ((I'm thinking of letting Tanyeera recognize it as some super-rare super-valuable sorta magic book. That ok with you? If so, could you tell me the name of the book? And what sort of magic its about?))

Thorn, finally waking up when the the door crashed out in the hall. Being a heavy sleeper when he is comfortable which isn't often. There was something strange about these people that made him feel safe. He knew that they all had problems like him. Some of them dangerous to him and the others but he still felt safe. He hoped that his feelings stayed that way the whole trip. Hearing the noise out in the hall he got up still dressed and straped on his axe which was laying next to him on the bed.
Out in the hall it looked like Adencia had broke down the door to her room and the others were gathering in the hall around them. Speaking quietly he asked "What happened?"

Isarelle hurried up to the rooms as fast as she could to see what was wrong. Garren was deathly silent but she ignored it. When she got up to where everyone was she saw Thorn, Adencia, and Kayoe standing amongst the remains of a split door. Her jaw dropped and inside her Garren was cringing.
“What . . . on earth . . . happened?” She gasped.
Adencia folded her arms and continued to stand on the broken remains of the door.
“Why don’t you just ask your bloody brother?”
Isarelle stayed quiet and waited for a response from Garren.
“Well, last night, Isa . . . I was, ah, worried so I—”
“So you WHAT, Garren?”
“I, uh, locked Adencia’s door while you were sleeping. I—”
“YOU WHAT?!”
“Isa, please, I just didn’t feel like I could trust her. She got out of my holding like it was a walk through the park and since we didn’t know her I wasn’t sure what she was capable of . . .” Garren said apologetically.

Tanyeera didn't sound very comfortable with trying to imitate his speech, so he tried to tell her it was alright. "Your form of speech is not a matter of depth. If it beckons you, please speak with the common tongues. I understand them entirely." At the mention of his book, however, he shied and took a step back. "I plead your excuse, God-servant, but it is a vitality of my living and iconic of my history. I dare not part with it for the slightest of moments." Wishing to move away from any discussion about his book, he tried to return to the subject of Tanyeera's books.
"I have no frets about cryptology, and I dare myself to announce a slight offense at that statement. Literature is all I understand. If I cannot succeed even there, of what use is my mind?" He frowned and looked away as the echo of the obliterated door hitting the floor reached his ears. He mumbled an old aphorism to himself beneath his breath. "Rowdy at dawn, drowsy at twilight. Or was it the inverse?"

Tanyeera too had heard the banging and eventual crash. However, since Garren and Isarelle had already gone up to deal with it, she elected to stay and talk. If there was any real trouble, surely there'd be a call for help.
She decided not to press the issue about the book he took everywhere with him, it was obvious he was really, really, really attached to it. "I thank you knowledge-seeker." she said politely. "In any case, if you would really like to read some of my books, I'd be happy to lend them to you. If you would just wait a moment..."
Tanyeera strode over to the nearest door, set her hand on it and concentrated. As she entered, there was a glimpse of shelves and shelves of ancient-looking books then the door swung shut.
A few moments later, she returned by a door on the opposite end of the hall with four leather-bound tomes cradled to her chest. The closing door behind her held the same glimpse of the ancient library.
"Here you go." she offered the books to him. "These are the Books of the Four Elements. They should be a good start. A lot of it is rather theoretical but if you can work your way through it, it'll help you understand some of the other great works on magic and how to use it."

From the look on Isarelle’s face as she was having the internal conversation with her brother it seemed that Adencia’s allegations were true. Kayoe looked right into Isarelle’s eyes as it was as close as he could get to doing so with her brother. “Garren, while I do not know for sure I have a feeling as to why you did this. I will not deny that when someone is under the effects of a curse like Adencia’s or my own you can not trust them at that moment.” Kayoe spoke calmly and rationally, if he let himself feel anything here it probably would be anger, and he definitely did not want to get angry here. “And you may not be able to trust us on a personal level as you have just met us. But if you plan on traveling with us through possibly dangerous regions you should at least trust us to handle a wild animal. If she could control all her forms she would be at least 10 times as dangerous, but an animal attacking out of fear or hunger is easy to deal with, but a shifter making her calculated kill is not. It is actually much safer for you to trust her and deal with the curse when it comes, then to be afraid of her and try to protect yourself in ways that will anger her. But either way, if you can’t put your faith in your comrades abilities you shouldn’t travel as a group. Your sister has decided to come with us, meaning you are being dragged along as well so I suggest you at least pretend to have faith for her sake.”
Kayoe then looked down at the door, for being broken down it was in fairly good shape, a weak mid-level restoration spell would fix it. He bent down and put one of his hands just above one of the main halves of the door. His magic powers, with the spell of 1000 blades being an exception, used the method that was used by the elder gods but as a mortal he was limited by both his relatively low mana power and his elemental affinity, and healing was rather low on it, taking much more mana then the spell really called for. Despite that he spoke; "Let it be as it was." It was as if the door itself heard the command the two halves reunited and healed their burns and cracks, it stood up reattached itself to its hinges, shut, and the final sound was the click of the lock. The sudden outflow of mana almost caused Kayoe to fall over, maintaining his balance but breathing harder then he was before he stood up and turned to Adencia and smiled slightly. “I only wish I could do that all the time.”

Adencia nodded to kayoe in gratitude for his input. She could not have worded that explanation better herself. She tepped back as he put the door back together and completely restored it to its origional form.
"Don't we all?" she said in reponse to his comment. "Ah, we'll work on it."
Then, noticing the strain the restoration spell had caused on Kayoe, Adencia stepped near him cautiously in case he would fall.
"You alright?"
-
Garren listened to Kayoe's words and they made sense. Though he hated to admit it, he was wrong to be overly cautios and sneek around behind the back of his sister.
"You know he's right, Garren." Isarelle said in a warning tone, "So, don't you have something to say?"
"Yes," Garren sighed, "I'm sorry, Isa."
"And?"
"What do you mean? I said I was sor-"
"AND?!"
"Alright, alright. Tell Adencia I said I was sorry. I'll be a little more trusting from now on and I didn't mean to anger her . . . even though I kind of did-"
"GARREN!"
"Alright! Just tell her!"
Isarelle shook her head and looked to Adencia.
"Garren apologises and says that he was wrong, will trust you all more, and didn't meant to anger you."

Kayoe nodded “If I wouldn’t be able to do the day’s traveling and fight off what may attack us today I wouldn’t have fixed it. Not being a burden on the group is more important then a broken door. But I do appreciate your concern, whenever I cast a spell that takes a lot of mana it’s like running a good distance, only you feel it all at once. Healing magic is far outside my preferred elements so it takes far more mana then it should. With the exception of my specialty spell, because it works on a different magic system then the rest, I doubt I’ll be able to do magic the rest of the day. But my skill with a blade is at least 100 fold that of my magical ability so if the time to fight comes, I’ll still be in top form. In any case it seems we are now wasting daylight, shall we gather everyone together so we can set out?”

Adnecia nodded and stepped away, knowing he'd be alright
"Yes." she agreed, "We should head out."
"Well, actually," Isarelle began, "We don't have to set out right off. We can at least stay and have breakfast because the plan has changed a small bit. Tayneera has aquired for us an item from the god Sazimeca that will point us directly to what temple we are to travel to. Come, and I will make us something to eat. While we dine we will discuss travel plans and we shall leave no later than five or six o'clock of this morning."

Cerdik nodded eagerly then watched Tanyeera go with awe. When another door opened behind him, he spun quickly, somewhat fearful. Not to mention the slight morning chill was getting to him again. However, he relaxed when he saw it was Tanyeera, and with four books in her possession.
Smiling faintly, he nodded. He was pleased to be offered such a great reward, but how would he carry them? His little arms would hardly be able to encompass them, let alone have enough strength to lift all four simultaneously. So he ran through his mind quickly searching for options. "Could I inquire to the provision of some leather? I could never alone dream of hoisting such tomes."

"Oh yes. I anticipated that." Opening a pouch in her belt, she removed a small packet from it which unfolded into a leather satchel. "Take it with my blessing. And don't worry about rain, its waterproof."

With pure awe and surprise at her kindness, Cerdik moved forward and timidly received the satchel. He took time to run his hands over the texture. Truly she was a servant of the Gods, to bless him so kindly with these gifts. He slung the satchel over his right shoulder, and the bag rested gently against his left thigh. It was perfect. Well almost. The only thing he could have asked for on top of it all, was a satchel with a smaller outside pouch for his book. Still, this was amazing. He lifted the flap and set his book inside gently. Then he held his arms outstretched for the books.
"Kindly I ask, will you pass the tomes individually?" There was no chance that he could hold them all and then put them in the satchel, so he could have to take them one at a time and store them away.

Tanyeera politely handed over the books one at a time as requested. She hadn't thought such simple things as the loan of a few books and the gift of a water proof satchel would elicit such a joyous reaction but she was pleased that here was one who so eagerly sought and retained knowledge. He would make a good companion to talk to about magical theory and compare notes with.

Kayoe pondered this for a second he would be fine on whatever they could find, but some of the other members of the party probably could use a decent meal before they set out. Not to mention if they were going directly to their final goal, they would also have to re-evaluate what route they were taking. That could be done on the road while traveling in the general direction of the goal, but some of the others would probably be comforted by having the route in mind before they left. “A good meal would be greatly appreciated, I would offer to aid you, but my cooking skills are limited to err... ‘traveler’s food.’” Kayoe was referring to food that could made with ingredients that you could, with the exception of some spices, find on the road. “However if there is another way that I can help you, it would by my pleasure to do so.”
