I see.
Well, I'd advise you to get a ring of protection and masterwork armor and sword if possible.

Well, if you exchange the magic longsword for a masterwork one, that would leave enough gold to get the ring of protection, and then the leftovers will have room to get masterwork armor.
Or you could just get masterwork armor but live without the ring.

No, just calculate it in for the place where you put your weapon total attack bonus and damage.

You know what...? As much as I have heard some "RPers" fuss about D&D having so many strict rules...at least it doesn't allow for god-modding. I mean...damn. I am a member of a guild where it looks like EVERYONE is godmodding. They just had a fight with about...7 people involved...and only 2 people actually (kinda) got hurt. scream Come on now....you can't be expecting EVERY shot someone throws at you! You can't dodge it all. You could at least block a shot or two at the very least. And all of these powers that they seem to pull from every anime on the block. I watch quite a bit of anime and am not an otaku but c'mon...I could name the anime they got it from! And a few other members were fussing about godmodding...when they were guilty of it too. I just don't get it. It is so sad. And it wouldn't be so bad...but when I rp with people (not the same people) they accuse my character of being weak....because she actually gets hit and has a few weaknesses instead of being an all powerful demon/angel/human/cyborg/mutant/vampire/alien/thingy.... What the fug?! gonk At least I play and get hit. You can dodge some of the hits. You can block some of the others...but admit when someone else has a good RP idea and get hit by it. It's not like you're gonna die anyway.... sweatdrop
Maybe I should have posted that in the bitching thread....but the point is thank goodness for rules. I think I see your contempt for "RPing" now, Fuzzy. It can get out of hand. I will admit it is fun. I play with my bf (no naughty thoughts there) all of the time and we godmod to our hearts content...but when there is more than 2 people playing, the RP cannot be all about you and how "badass" your Mary Sue charater is! stressed

Yeah, I like that about it too.
You say that you dodged the dragon breath? Alright, roll a reflex save wiseass.
You can't just smash him, you missed your attack and you have a strength of 12.
So, you want to be a half-demon? Alright then, but you'll have to start four levels lower.
Booyah! Rules prevent god-modding, and the DM is their to blwo the whistle on rediculous rules abuse/combos.

Yeah but you can break D&D easily. Some characters are just more powerful than others and you can abuse that to the point of making a character that IS a basic god... Or can at least topple any contemporary pantheon...
