Sorry for being rude. It was drilled into me that if you can read music you can write music. You had no offending remarks to me and the definitions we have are different due to different training and teachers.
About every instrument: Not in highschool. if you take an instrument other then percussion in the school I went to you failed if you didnt know all the instrument and couldnt play all of it.
If you understand beats and rythem you understand theory. Theory is simply how the music is placed together. Thats all. Its know time signitures, key signitures, meter, and some history.
Oh well. I am very strong when it comes to my opinions and what I was tought. I did not want to start off my relationship with you this way but my attitude like always got in the way.
It;s just horrible that I had to see what was a beautiful and award winning band die and loose every thing because the upperclassmen in the percussion section left and the freshmen went wild just banging on every thing because they thought it was cool and sounded neat.
My highschool lost every thing the year I graduated. The only thing left is their Chior and thats starting to get down in the dumps. Its our signiture. Every one in my state has heard of the Windham Chamber singers... Now its dying...

Nintendo Punk 05 we have one comp left then ACC's and it's over for us crying If you ever see the Concord band...boo at them, actually, the director. He left us for them....*sniff*. Just kidding, don't boo him, it doesn't really matter for me since I moved. He put us in a tight spot with the leave though. I'm back btw, obviously, heh. I dunno if anyone has been to this site already, but I'll give the link anyways: Drumlines.org. My sn there is Paragiggle. So who's ready for offseason drumline practices? surprised

Hookani Keiki darkestone elfymcflee Hookani Keiki Because our freshman were learing this year. (one senior [me] two new sophmores and 6 freshman). . . . we constantly got yelled at "LISTEN BACK" I think it's finally burned into their skulls that they need to listen back to the dl. stare At least next year we'll have a few good new vets. o man... we get yelled at to LISTEN BACK all the time... well the pit does. this year we had a TON of freshman, but suprisingly they were very talented and awesome. our pit music for this show was simply awesome. most of them played four mallets for the first time. it was awesome. I try to listen back, but in Indoor, the person who counts off (I don't like her...) is in the front center, so we can't listen back unless we have the line behind us. I sometimes get yelled at to listen back, but it's as a section. I was talking about marching. Indoor is completely different. Totally understand what you mean darkstone. Yeah.

A question: Has anyone ever heard Marimba Spiritual?
Our drumline is going to play it for our "finale concert" (because my bd is too lazy this year to do Music Theatre) and all the upperclassmen are hyped up about it. crying So maybe, someone could tell me about it

Our tarp was the Soviet Flag, so we'd get little things the drumline moms made for us with the Soviet flag on them on our lockers. This didn't help the accusations. sweatdrop

I'm going to a DCI show in the summer, and I'm making a bet with one of my friends that someone from the crowd is going to sport a Soviet flag.

Quads... pfft. Our drumline has tenors biggrin . That's 2 more drums than those quads. 2 more things to worry about. Only the really good drumlines march tenors xd And for the order: it's like this in order from lowest to highest ..3..4 1......2 (the dots are just to space)
