The twisting and turning corridors easily confused Kon's already terrible sense of direction and he was absolutely sure he would NEVER find his way out without the other's help. He walked in as the other held the door open, murming a soft thank you. His eyes widened slightly as he gazed upon the vast, blue liquid that was enclosed in a perfectly rectangular holding area - and the hot tub that bubbled on the far side. He'd never actually seen a pool before.

Ryu chuckled, then closed te door behind them. He walked over to a white plastic reclinder and put down the towels, streached a bit, then went over to the deep end and dove in with a splash. He swam to teh edge nearest Kon and smiled. "Come on in..." He swam to the shallow end, then sat on the edge, still smiling. "The water's really nice."
He watched, eyes wide, as the other dove in and swam towards him. He followed the other over to what he could see was shallower water and slowly clambered down the steps. The flooring in the pool was very rough and he wiggled his toes slightly uncomfortably on it before stepping fully into the water.

It wasn't very often Kotoro had company. Ever. Rent collectors, salesmen, and the occasional nagging neighbors who are always wanting to borrow something. That was about it. He wasn't sure if he would actually enjoy someone other than the usuals -not that he actually liked those either- over.

He put up a wall of silence and tension around himself the rest of the way to his apartment, not really knowing what to say to Oliver. Especially after that 'cute' comment.

Once at the door, the red-head dug around in his pocket until finding a small key. He unlocked it and stepped inside, waiting for the other to follow before reshutting the door. He chose to go up the stairs, never trusting the rusty old elevator they all had access to. Despite it being six flights, he ascended them with ease.

"Which would you prefer?" he finally asked, fishing out another key to unlock his own door. "Sandwich or frozen dinner?"
Oliver didn't really care that there wasn't more talking involved between the two of them. He was more interested in taking the appearance of the other with side glances. Glance one: A bit taller than himself. Glance two: pretty red hair. Glance three and four: From what Oliver could see from the profile, the other's narrow hips were an indicator that he was certainly male... and his eyes couldn't help but dart over the clothed rear. .... He'd want a better look at that for sure later on. Traipsing up the stairs, Oliver curiously didn't make a sound. At least not what a human could hear. His footsteps were on a frequency too high for the human ear. While waiting, Oliver was a bit surprised at the question. How... how could he pay the other back...? Human way... human way? What was the human way to repay a debt? The Nix way usually revolved around sexual favors... but those were always such a hassle.

"N-no!" Oliver declared firmly, "I'll cook!"

Kon watched as the other treaded water. Of course, the shallow end was much deeper for him than it was for Ryu... He followed the other's lead and took a few steps forward into deeper water - resulting in the water rising to about his chin level - and tried to mimmick the other's motion without success. Luckily, he seemed pretty bouyant and he didn't drown or sink or anything - he just couldn't swim. He was, after all, very light for a human and he could float just fine, although this swimming thing would take some time.

When his door popped open and he heard Oliver's sudden statement, Kotoro looked back at him with a quirked brow. "Don't worry about it, man," he said, stepping into the apartment.

It was of fair size having one bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. Each room was actually very neatly, but not overly decorative. The walls in each room were of solid colors, and the furniture wasn't too luxurious. There was, however, the occasional piece of artwork around the apartment.

Shutting the door after Oliver made it inside, he continued- "It'll only take like five minutes. I can handle it." Without waiting to see in further argument would follow, he wandered into the kitchen.

Ryu softly smiled, pleased by the other's efforts, then proceeded to first show him how to float and tread water in case he got too deep and couldn't get out. He tried to be as basic as possible, and laughed a little as he taught Kon. He really seemed to be getting it.

He watched carefully as the other showed Kon what to do and he did his best to mimmick the other's movements, although he was quite a bit clumbsier than Ryu was. He had, after all, never been one with much grace. He understood the gist of what he needed to do: not drown. it was doing that that would be a problem, but probobly not too much of once since he seemed to be improving rapidly.

Oliver frowned, watching after the human. Not understanding exactly why this human was being so difficult to please, Oliver determinedly followed him into the kitchen moments later and rummaged through an unattended bag while Kotoro worked elsewhere. Pulling out a package of precious snackcakes, he quirked a brow. They smelled so sweet when he put the package to his nose.

Holding them to his chest, but visible for Kotoro to discern what they were, Oliver decided to be a little playful.

"Let's eat these for lunch..."

Kotoro had already began to look through his fridge. Inside was a small array of cakes: Snack sized, regular, half-eaten. He obviously liked his sweets. There was also almost empty carton of milk, orange juice, and a few cans of soda along with a fair amount of other foods.

With Oliver's statement, the red-headed boy looked over his shoulder. ".. No," he said after only a short moment. "That's not a lunch food. Besides.. They're for me."

Oliver had to bite back the instinct to growl. Appearing normal... it wasn't easy for him. He moved around Kotoro and leaned in to whisper in his ear, keeping the snackcakes secured behind his back.

"Don't be selfish, Kotoro," he whispered, failing to keep all Nix charm out of his voice, "But... if not these, what would you like to eat? Why don't you just let me cook?"

Ryu smiled, very pleased with Kon's progress thus far. After a while practicing treading water and floating, he taught him some basic strokes, first showing him, then having Kon mimic his motions in the shallower water, then gradually deeper until he treaded water nearby while Kon tried it on his own. "I want you to show me what you have learned..." He said "Then we can take a break, ok?"

He nodded and did the best he could with the strokes and everything the other had showed him, but it was a little difficult for his land-oriented brain to remember. Finally, when the test was declared finished, and swam to shallower water, panting slightly - a trait that seemed to carry over, even in his human form - and he looked up at the other. "Neh... Ryu... is Kon doing alright?" he asked a little nervously.

Ryu grinned, walking over to the other boy, then gently hugged him. "Kon is doing fantastic." He said, smiling, then hoisted himself out of the water instead of using the ladder. He then went over to the towles, wrapping one around his wet body and the other in his hand, outstreached for Kon to grab.

Kon didn't even attempt to mimmick this. He already knew well enough that his arms were weak. Instead, he opted to clamber his way back through the water and up the latter. He took the offeres towel and wiped himself off a bit - mostly just on his dripping hair - and then, shivering, wrapped the towel around his shoulders.

Ryu grinned, quickly wiping himslef free of any waterdrops, not bothering much with his hair...so, as one could imagine, water still dripped from his short hair, but he didn't care. He was still damp and didn't care about that either- he was probably going to go back in the pool anyway. "You did very well..." He nodded a little, then stared out the window and laughed a little as he saw falling snow. "Did you enjoy yourself?"
