Maris finished his second cup and stood up. "Alright." He then went to the sink and rinsed out the cup and put it in the strainer. He had nothing else to say and went to the fridge to get an apple from the crisper drawer.

Maris just grabbed an apple out of the fridge and tossed it into the air, catching it, then taking a bite out of it. He chewed it up and closed the door. After he swallowed, he then spoke up. "I'm just trying to be a good friend. All fathers give the daughter's boyfriend the third degree. Mari's father isn't here. I have to do it for him. He would have wanted me to."

He started to walk to the front room and just continued to eat his apple as he walked.

When Maris walked into the living room, Mari was coming down the steps. They greeted each other and Mari even asked him how he was doing this morning and Mari continued her walk into the kitchen, letting out a yawn. She smiled as she seen him sitting at the table. "My love. How are you this morning?"

She stood behind him and rubbed his shoulders a bit as if she was massaging them. "Well, I woke up cold and in bed alone. How do you think I would feel?" She just gave a small smile and laughed a bit showing she was joking with him.

She just giggled and walked around, leaning down to him and rubbing her nose against his. "You better not. Or I'll beat you up and make you cry."
