"I don't mind." Lily says, sitting down and smiling a little. "It's better that you did. If I had it would have been full of my opinion on it, which you found out the hard way isn't in your favor."

Jay yawns and says, "I think I should be going to bed now. I also need to check and make sure that Trea's not giving her mother trouble going to bed."
He stands up, saying politely, "Good night, everyone. See you in the morning."
With that, he goes to his campsite and unzips the tent's door. Looking into the tent, he finds his wife and daughter curled up in bed, already asleep. He sneaks in, closing the door behind him, then quickly gets ready for bed. He slips into bed and, embracing his sleeping wife, falls asleep.

"Well." Nathan says. "I guess I should see about getting a tent. I don't think Lily would react too kindly if I had her sleep on the ground. Even if our sleeping bags are close." He stands and walks into the forest a couple feet. After a couple minutes he returns holding two duffle bags and two sleeping bag.

"No." Lily says. "I certainly wouldn't. You can leave the stuff here for now and once we get a tent we'll come back for it." Turning to Darian she adds. "I hope you don't mind us leaving you alone."

"I don't mind." Darian says. "And I wouldn't want you two stuck sleeping on the ground. Go, I'll be fine. I've been on my own before."
Nathan nods and sets the duffel bags and sleeping bags down before returning to Lily's side. The two walk out of the campground, heading to a small sporting goods store not far away. After buying a tent they return to the campground to find Darian training. The couple cannot help but admire the grace with which he weilds his sword.

A few hours after everyone had gone to bed, the redhead stirs in her sleep. For some odd reason, unexplained to her, she realizes that he had slipped in without her noticing.
"Darian, you awake?" she askes, facing him.
As much as she knows, he could be awake and resting.

The redhead smiles, "Thank you for your considerate thought. However, I don't think you could have disturbed my sleep if you wanted to, unless it was an emergency, which I would have noticed on my own."

"I don't know. I haven't had to deal with anything like that for a while. It's been over one hundred years or more, with Mom waking me up," she says, "But i don't think that I'd be too upset with you waking me up, at least not now."

She scoots a bit closer to him and lays her head on his arm, just to know that he is near. Then, her hearing still tuned to the sound around her, she starts to fall asleep again.

Darian smiles, glad to know that Margem takes comfort in him being there. I sure woudn't trust myself as much as she trusts me.
Meanwhile, at an other campsite, Nathan Briggs cannot get to sleep. I wish I could find the courage to ask Lily to marry me. he thinks, I've faced villages of men with pitchforks without fear, why does asking her to marry me freak me out so much?
