I am first chair horn in my band. I am more attracted to concert season than marhcing season. I would rather have the challenge in the music I guess. Don't get me wrong...I DO love marching season I just like concert season better. I also like my horn over my mellophone.

Xixor F horn rocks out i love mine is a brand new holten Farkus Guy hornists are sexy! My frends horn broke before a concert. All of the strings BROKE! it was funny.

The Mellophonist Xixor F horn rocks out i love mine is a brand new holten Farkus Guy hornists are sexy! My frends horn broke before a concert. All of the strings BROKE! it was funny. Oh my goodness yes, horn player guys are hot...well, on the condition that they are between high school and 25, straight, and single. sweatdrop Where, exactly, are the strings in a horn? From what I've read, they do something with the rotary valves, but I've never had to take one apart so I'm not sure.

you should notice them when you look at the back of the horn. there are 4, one for each valve and one for the trigger. it connects the pads to the rotary valves and they move when you press down your pads.

My horn doesn't have strings. It has medal bars. I find they can sometimes be a hassle but are better than strings.
