Soquili Lorako Soquili Princess Soquili raised a hand to the other pale faced visitor. "Osiyo!" she greeted and then proceded to talk in her own tounge about how they all should be peaceful..but didn't know if they were able to understand. She looked to her people for advice. "How do we tell these pale faces that we are peaceful and don't want any war?" Maybe we can give them food ? Princess soquili nodded to the girl. "That would be a great idea.. go fetch a basket with the food from the harvest. We will present it to them!" smile *Chandrika goes to her teepee and make a basket and come back give it to the princess*

"My name is Arama," she said. "Do you not call your two-legged one your master here? And what is a kalona? Oh, I hope I can learn quickly enough."

Chamain Soquili "I just think they look funny.. why would they carry so many things.. why not just be free like us?" she said with a giggle. She remembered a legend about a horse that was treated poorly and kept down with thick ropes..it made her begin to get afraid and stop laughing.. Would these pale faces make her wear those things?.. Understanding why she would laugh now, she too kinda giggled but then cleared her throat. "They can speak like us! Do you think we can create peace between our humans and the pale faces?" She asked Mesarthim. Smiling happily though, maybe they would be the ones who could make everything better. "I don't know.. i hope so. I know that Princess Soquili wants peace but her father and Tasunke wanted war. Peace may win out in the end.. I rather see that conclusion then more pain.."

"I do not stay with the two-leggeds.. I prefer to stay free.." She tilted her head. "A kalona is a demon horse.." She said with a wary nod. "Best to stay away from those.."

"Very nice to meet you Arama, my name is Awnaety...pronounced Awn-nae-ty." She said slowly again. "Masters..." Giggling at the word. "We do not have masters, we have humans as friends." Nodding looking at Chamain. "Kalonas are horror, you'll learn about them later, we do not want to scare you off with the description, since we just met." winking at the horse.

Ansel watched the mare for a few moments before offering her a consoling wicker. He hadn't really meant to snap, but did tilt his head with an inquiring look at her when she spoke of his master hurting him. "My boy? No, never!" A short laugh escaped him before he could stop it, and he tossed his head, "None of this is oh so painful.. well, the bit--the mouthpeice--is a little uncomfortable till you get used to it, but as Armana just said, Its only for the masters when we're 'working'."
Christian glanced back over towards the Padre again, before once more looking down at the babbling primitives. "Padre.. do you have any idea how we can explain ourselves to them? They must have guns, and other weapons, as we heard one go off... what do we do if they decide we mean harm.." He still hadn't dropped his hands all the way, for fear of alarming these people who vastly outnumbered their little group. It was about that moment that his stomache, pressed to his spine as it already was, decided to make itself known, causing a deep crimson flush across his cheeks and ears.

It was brimming with vegetables from the harvest.
She placed it at the pale face's feet and stepped back with a smile.

"Good to know this is going well" Oathkeeper began, finally speaking up so that other soquili could hear him, "Whether or not we wear different dressings or have different coats, I somehow knew inside all our hearts might just be the same."
Nokomei giggled with glee at the idea that arose of giving them food as a peace offering. How brilliant. She wished she'd thought of that, for it would surely wage understanding between the pale faces and the Kawani. She continued to look on at the pale faces in sweet mannered silence from behind her Kawani princess's back.

Turning her body to face the mare, she nodded. "Peace...a wonderful word." Awnae felt that it will be hard to build peace since they couldn't speak the human language and these horses were being controlled by the pale faces. Although she could be wrong, maybe there is a way.

Chamain "Our humans are scared that you would hurt them with the stick thing you carry." Pointing with her nose at the gun the settlers were carrying. "Ride?" Giving an confused expression. "You mean sit on your back like that? It looks hurtful, especially with the thing on your back. Work? You have to work?" So many questions to be answered. Arama snorted after looking at what this horse was worried about. "Our masters wouldn't hurt anyone with that stick thing unless they attacked us first. My master would get angry at them if they tried to use it without warrant." She smiled. "It doesn't really hurt; I don't even notice it when I carry my master. And of course I work; my master needs me. Without me, he could not travel far, and he would not be as respected by the other masters. Without the respect of the other masters, we would not be able to eat. Where we come from, only the most respected of the masters can have us work for them." She didn't understand the concept of richness and poorness; she only saw the way everyone treated her master with respect.
