Angel woke up suddenly. Her dreams of candy had made her very happy this time. She looked around for her mom. Then she saw that Kila was hurt. Angel got up and ran to her mom. "What happened?" She was very worried.

Angel paced back and forth beside her new mom. Then she layed down next to her and purred hoping that would make Kila feel better. She then looked around again and saw a big male lion. She wondered who he was.

The tan and purple cub looked over at the other. Her tail flicked a little as she got up from her half eaten fish. "Fae? Nice to meet you, Fae. I hope we can become good friends." She nodded then went back to eating her fish standing up. The cub's teeth tore through the meat and her claws held it down as she ripped it from the bone. Her flakes waved from the movements. "I hope so, Miss Niobe. I..really don't have anywhere else..." She looked down remembering the sad occurances that she remembered too well for a lion her age. She sniffled a little trying to hold back tears. She dived back into the fish trying to forget.

Ayan rolled onto her feet, stepping into the river at the end of the waterfall which didn't seem too deep. She walked towards the crashing water, her mind still wandering. She stepped up on a flat rock, sitting. The sounds of the waterfall that fell right beside her entering her mind. She closed her eyes and sighed. Instantly, memories of the past flashed in her mind. Her parents protecting themselves with her siblings, watching them die at the hands of her parents' enemies. She cringed and almost fell into the later, laying slumped over the rock, her tail draging in the rushing water.

He grinned, he nudged his head against her cheek. "Good, as mine is yours until you dont want to have anything to do with me anymore." He teased as he licked her cheek once more. "Kila, I have to tell you something.." his tones became soft. " I..I killed my mother." he muttered, as he gazed out over the land. "As a cub, she'd been a great mother to me. She for some reason didnt grow attached to Niobe, but my father made up for that before a sickness that pleadged our pride killed him." He continued to look around. " Niobe was quiet after he died, only to leave...she came back many moons and suns later. Happier than I had seen her in a long time. I was a rouge then, though allowed to visit my mother when I wished." He licked his muzzle. " I came to visit once more, while my sister was visiting as well. Only to see her in a most vile battle with a lioness, mind you all the lioness in my mothers pride looked alike oddly enough and were mostly mothers and sisters...anyways. I stayed out of it until my sister fell against the earth, she didnt move. I attacked, blinded by my fury of the lioness killing my sister, only until the other stopped moving did I stop." He took a deep breath, "She rolled to her side, her coat matted with blood and dirt, her eyes glazed over as the life drained from her body...my mother...killed my sister...and i ...killed my mother." He lowered to his belly, now. His eyes glazed slightly, his mind as no longer with his beloved on the platform, but deep into the past, staring at his mother. " The shaman of the pride came to me, he knew what had happened, Niobe's life had been stolen...he performed a special, cermony..Niobe has no heart beating within her chest. Yes, it sounds like it..but she doesnt. No she isnt the living dead, we...we share a heart." He sighed and closed his eyes. "I felt the heartache she'd felt before she died, the memories of that heart ached had flooded my mind, Niobe had caught my mother with her mate...Niobe had come to tell them both she had been expecting their first litter..." He sighed, tears leaked from his closed eyes.

Ayana lifted herself off of the rock, sighing. A strong spray shot out of the waterfall and the lioness fell in the the river, being pulled partly down the river. She choked, climbing out of the edge. She was in the forest that they were in before. She looked around and entered, shaking th water out of her pelt. Her paws swiped against the ground of the forest, walking through with her eyes foreward. She hated the water. Birds could be heard throught the forest, their song somewhat calming.

Fae was doing a bit better by then -- when Niobe had left her with the others, reassuring her, she'd finally eaten most of the decent sized fish the lioness had left for her.
It had been a relief to see Niobe return again. She was quickly becoming a welcome sight to the kitten in this new, still strange place. The raised voices from earlier left Fae a bit on edge once again, but she felt at least a bit safer in Niobe's prescence.
She was wary of the strange cub upon her arrival, edging away just a tiny bit. Fae bowed her head politely as the Venya introduced herself. Venya didn't seem too bad, either... but the white kitten would still be cautious.
At the mention of the word 'daughter', she looked up at Niobe with a faint mixture of surprise and joy etched across her features. Like a daughter... had she really found a new home here? For good? A new mother? She liked it here -- she liked Niobe. The thought of her taking Fae in in such a way made the kitten happy, happier than she could remember being in a long time.
'But...' Her thoughts flickered briefly, returning to the once-beautiful lioness she'd left behind her. What about -- what would she do if...?

Tequila listened to his story with a heavy heart, it turned out to be some what like the story she had carried out after the flood when she was a moody teenager almost a full grown lioness, she wouldn’t tell him the story however and her past love Jupiter whom she cringed at the very name. He had betrayed her and she left with a broken heart. Then there was the other one Adonai, she wouldn’t even go through that story in her mind, she hadn’t had much luck with males maybe the third time was the charm, her ears flickered towards Benoni, it was his moment and she wouldn’t ruin it. She licked his cheek taking in his tears. All she could think of, was Niobe at the moment she wondered what happened to the kits because right now she hadn’t seen any Niobe babies running around. She looked over to Angel who was roaming, “I’m fine sweetie, why don’t you go play with the other cubs for a bit I’ll be out in awhile.” She wouldn’t leave Benoni’s side until she was convinced that he was going to be okay. His story was unique and she couldn’t think of anything to say, it seemed her shyness was well back as well as her social skills and she had been doing a fine job with that until now.

Cayimmi was comforted deeply by Benoni, a shadow lingering on his young heart fading away. During the confusion that ensued after, the male cub proudly stood guarding the den's entrance, not stepping or looking away once, his eyes set on the direction from which came the scents. Only when the adults returned did he move away, grabbing a fish and sinking his teeth gladly on it. He had only managed to make one catch, but it was a good thing. With practice, he'd excel. After all, there's nothing he can't do, right? Maybe he'd try and befriend the other cubs... Later. Walking to a shadowed side, he closed his eyes and took a nap, his ears still vigillant.

She blinked at the other's uneasiness. Venya really couldn't understand why this one didn't want to be friends unless she was just overly shy. Waving her tail a little, she gave the other a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Fae. I'd never really hurt anyone, without good reason." She looked down slightly at the last part, but it was true. Her nature didn't like war or violence at all, but if worst came to worst, she would fight. Shaking that thought from her head, she noticed the other cub lurking toward the shadows. Her ears flicked slightly before shrugging and going back to her fish meal.

Niobe glanced down at Fae, no one would take her from her. She glanced at the shadows as well, her past wouldnt come and take Fae away from her. She licked Fae's side softly as she curled herself around the cub softly. She looked to Venya " She's new too, hasnt been her longer than a day. Just a bit shy...getting used to new surroundings." She'd noted the cub and her fight not to break into tears, she curled her tail around Venya. "And dont cry sweets, nothing is going to harm you here. My brother is a good King. He wont toss out helpless cubs. Eat your fills, and rest your heads. You've nothing to worry about while here."

At the touch of his mates tongue, Benoni's eyes opened. He lifted his head and nuzzled her softly. "Thank you." He said softly, very few knew the truth of how his mother had passed. He shook his head, his eyes were crystal clear, the tears hadnt left their markings on his face.
His eyes soon fell upon the cub, he tilted his head to the side and glanced up at Kila. "We've got alot of company dont we?" he asked, he knew the answer already, the new scents had been playing choas with his nose since he'd returned. Licking Kila's muzzle he padded off the platform, with a graceful leap he landed on the cave floor, he glanced back at Kila and bowed his head to her. When the sun set, he'd have her roar join his...

Ayana padded back onto the pride lands, heading towards where Niobe and the cubs were. She was still partialy wet, her fur flattened with the moisture. Well if this wasn't... perfect, she thought to herself sarastically. She sighed as she approached Niobe, sitting beside her, far enough s that th other female wouldn't get wet by touching her. She blinked and yawned.

Angel didn't want to leave her mom so she stayed by her. She continued to purr. Angel looked around at the other cubs. She smiled and then looked up at Kila. She felt safe and was very happy. She knew this was her home now and she never wanted to leave.

She looked up at the princess and smiled. "Thank you, Miss Niobe. It's just...my mom..and everyone...the war..." She suppressed a sigh finally finished with her meal. Pushing it away slightly, she sat down upon her haunches seeming to stare into nothing. "It's only been a few weeks..but I feel it was only yesterday when the others attacked...now I'm starting to wonder if any of them survived. I highly doubt it, we were outmatched and hadn't had food in days." Venya closed her eyes for a bit becoming calmer and quieter. "But that's all past now. I have a future to look forward to." The cub looked over at Niobe and Fae and gave another smile. "What's the point of looking back on something you can't fix now?" She shrugged a little then looked back out toward the cave entrance. "I just got to have a fresh new start...like my mother intended..."
