Er, Lionel was implicated in Jonathan's death. Not only that, but Martha knows that Jonathan hated Lionel, that he tried to kill Chloe, that he's tried to kill and/or blackmail Clark, etc.
It's also out of character for her. Can we cue a flashback to Crusade where Martha warns Lois not to have anything to do with him?

Lionel has always had that "creepy" crush on Martha. He always hated Jonathon mostly because Jonathon was the only wall standing in between him and Martha.... Other then that he had no reason to hate jonathon, Jonathon was the only one with reason to hate Lionel. I don't think there is anything WRONG with Mionel, i think that it is just awkward, because Martha was so in love with Jonathon that it is like she is cheating on him...in a weird sense

Lionel can crush on Martha all he wants. The minute Martha starts to reciprocate, that's something I really don't want to see.

He didn't give Lionel a chance to speak. It's also, Clark's, Jor-el, and the kid that killed Clark faults.

Next episode Clark waxes philosophical about suicide and the nature of being. EDIT: It's not Jor-El's fault. The writers did a really bad job of expressing this idea, but Jor-El wasn't saying "I brought you back therefore I'm not gonna kill somebody to teach you a lesson"; what he said was that Clark giving up his powers set in motion a chain of events that would lead to the death of somebody close to him. It's more Clark's fault, both in because of this and directly because he turned the clock back to save Lana. They wanted to toy with the idea that he has a Peter Parker-esque burden of guilt to bear, but they've done it in a really inconsistent way. At the same time, yes, Lionel was the direct cause of Jonathan's heart attack, and Martha should remember that.

Clark was an idiot and went to check up on Lana despite the fact that she was moving in the corner and was probably going to be fine. He made his choice, and he was happy with it. Whether Jor-El was specific or not, Clark probably would have ignored him anyway.
