Yeah, lol, our practice field is also at the intersection of two busy roads. Except, the shouts are more along the lines of "WOOOOOOOOOOO!" and "HELL YEAH BETHANY" and "GO DEVONTE"

We get the good kind of shouters. You know, the ones that whoo at the band as they drive by. Then again, our band has won more trophies than any of the sports teams, so we get a bit of respect.

our band usuallyy practices behind the school...but our football team sucks, most people only come to the games for tha band anyway.
but last year, before I was in marching band and they were practicing for a parade on the street the got a lot of honks and whistles. My entire spanish class ran over to the windows to watch them. 3nodding

yeah, our band practices on the main parking lot which is open to a main road...and usually during bandcamp we get people that scream...usually incoherently

That happens from occasion. Because like you our band field is right next to a busy road. so yeah it happens. The only people that need to get lives are those that feel like they need to scream honk or in your case moon the band.

well...sortof. When we're marchingo our feild. (the softball feild that our BD specifically reserved for US to practice on) Last year some mini cheer leaders were like YOU GUYS ARE ROBOTS!!! Our DM was just like yes we are thank you very much. Then at our last game. (it was last Friday) there was a reporter trying to get pictures of us for the newspaper and the stupid cheerleaders were like "Hey! Look how rude they are! You're trying to take their picture and they ignore you and look strait ahead! We'll smile for you!" And the camera lady ACTUALLY LEFT! That was a real pain. Then every once in a while we get people driving by with that sarcastic mocking like WHOOOO!!!! BAND ROCKS!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME! and we know they're making fun of us...but other than that people pretty much apreciate us. the band and the cheer leadersw absolutely despise each other. we're like arch enimies. But the band and the football players actually get along really well. the football players like us. (though that might have to do with the fact that we purposely play our cheer music really fast just to make the cheer leaders have to dance their buts off. it's so much fun tormenting them...and it encourages our team at the same time!! lol) Today some midget soccer kids tried to take our feild from us. they were all no we're practicing here! And we were just like...well fine. we'll just run you over. It was pretty funny. they got out of there real quick. what's annoying is when the cheer leaders practice on our feild and because they got there first we have to walk all the way back to the school and practice on the back parking lot which is a real pain. (cars. enough said)

nope, nada, everyone loves the band. people come to practice just to watch and stare in awe that we're all in step, in line, and can walk backwards without running into anyone smile

the only people who's ever dissed our marching band is our own marching band (people leaving and/or complaining about their section or BD) and other marching bands at competitions. xDDD we practice in the privacy of the field hockey field, which is in it's own little cove behind the school. Our school is located on a tiny residential rode off the street that connects g-burg to germantown. one side to the road, the rest is hidden inside treeees. (people go down the forest to smoke pot and skip school and no one gives a s**t. )

lol this happens all the time to us. During band camp, we practice in the parking lot so we get a ton of people driving literally right by us and yelling at us and stuff. We don't care though. I think it's funny that all they have to do is go around yelling at a bunch of people who really could care less about what they have to say.

During a game, some idiots in the stands yelled at us to stop playing. rolleyes So our Drum Major counted off four measures and we (the band) played randomly and very loudly whatever the heck we wanted. No song,It was amazing. mrgreen

Durza the Shade My marching band's practice field is in full view of two fairly major roads and an intersection. As people are driving by, we often have to put up with honking, shouts of "Band sucks!" and "Get a life!", and incoherant screaming. We were even mooned once last year. It's annoying, but we get at least two screamers, a shout and a honk every practice, so we learn to deal with it. I know from a friend in another local band that the same thing happens at their practices. Does this happen to anyone else?

I've had an idiot of my own section last year in eighth grade yell at me, we were playing the high school all state piece, Bali by Michael Daughtery [come on, composed by a druggiei? it has to be impossibly hard but awesome], and so this guy who is horrible at the clarinet yells at me, saying I didn't distribute the parts correctly. rolleyes I wasn't the one who distributed it, we just picked up our parts, it was at that time that they were supposed to be independent. >_>;. He pretty much is one of those people who thinks he's better then anyone else...and not being one of the 50 people to get into all state never told him that :Roll:
idiots will never realize it :] let them regret their yelling and shouting and what not rolleyes

I've never seen any open hostility directed at my band....yet. Then again, I'm new, so who knows....? If it's worth anything, the football couches come over regularly to chat with our band director during practice and to tell us how great it is of us to play at football games, because, "What's a football game without the band, huh?"

Where to begin...During band camp we had 3 random people come into the parking lot, honk, get out, and dance while wearing the strangest clothes I've ever seen. Then during the next week of band camp some guy rode by on his bike and shouted, "F*CK BAND!" twice.

If it's worth anything, the football couches come over regularly to chat with our band director during practice and to tell us how great it is of us to play at football games, because, "What's a football game without the band, huh?" EXACTLY! They call us stupid and then get all sad when we don't go to away games. make up ur mind jeeez! X_X Though everyone knows a football game's just not the same without stand music and a feild show...or the live national anthem....

I love it when people think they can walk through us to mess us up. Unfortunately for them they don't know that wheather they're in our way or not we're still gonna keep marching and we really could care less if they get trampled....
