Super Buu does the human extinction attack and then because Videl requested it, decides to wait 1 hour for the strong guy to be ready to fight him.

Chichi gets turned into an egg and is crushed because she slapped Buu. Then the boys go to the Hyperbolic time chamber and train for as long as they could before Piccolo had no choice but to bring Buu there. Now the boys are ready and we shall see if they beat Buu.

Gotenks fights Buu in the hyperbolic time chamber using some of the goofiest move names possible, which don't work either on Buu. Even at Super Saiyan, the moves seem useless. And now, Gotenks is using his ultimate move the super ghost kamikaze attack, which the ghost will explode on contact dishing out damage.

Gotenks powered to Super saiyan 3 and busted out of the time dimension and finds out that Buu has eaten everyone. Now ready for revenge, Gotenks is going to give Buu a pummeling.

Gotenks splits Buu in half, but Buu reforms. Gotenks uses a super ghost balloon with lots of Kamikaze ghosts, but Buu reforms, Buu manages to destroy the lookout and then Gotenks traps Buu within a rubber ball and spikes him to the ground. But, Buu isn't finished yet. He proves it by firing a very large pink lazer aiming for Gotenks and Piccolo.

Gotenks's fusion finally wears off, but Buu is not dead and now it is up to Gohan and his newfound abilities to save the day.

Just as the boys thought that they were certainly dead, Gohan shows up on the scene and begins to pound on Buu with nice results.

Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks all find Hercule, Bee the puppy, and Dende who has somehow survived. Then Buu returns and challenges Goten and Trunks to do battle. But Buu is secretly plotting something.

Buu successfully absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo before resuming his fight with Gohan. Dende, Hercule, Bee, and the heroes from Supreme Kai's planet are watching the horror unfold. Will there be a new plan hatched to defeat Buu in case Gohan really cannot do this?

Seeing that there is no hope for Gohan alone, Elder Kai gives his life to Goku so that Goku can return to earth and use the potara earrings to fuse with someone to become strong enough to fight and kill Buu. King Yemma is sending Vegeta to earth via Baba in order for him to fight Buu. This might be a hint of what the earrings will be used for.

Just when Buu was going to destroy the planet, Goku uses a destructo disk and slices Buu in half knowing he can regenerate. When Goku throws the potara earring at his son, Gohan misses the catch and while having to dodge Buu and Goku fighting, finds the earring too late. Buu absorbs Gohan after losing the Gotenks ability. Now Goku must try and fuse with someone else and is regretting the fact that it might have to be Hercule of all people.

Feeling Vegeta's energy, Goku uses instant transmission to get to him and after a lot of bickering, Goku convinced Vegeta to use the earring and now they have become a single entity.

Vegito continues to toy with Buu even to the point of destroying a barrier that Buu made around himself while trying to rip the universe apart. Meanwhile, Krillin and Yamcha are on Grand Kai's planet where Yamcha is having the time of his life training against Olibu and someone else from the North Quadrant.
