In Toso's hands a grey liquid seeped suddenly to form a grey pair of chopsticks. As it intercepted Haurko's, like two blades they'd make a *cling* "I ah, bloop, c..can I help you?" A bead of sweat forming on the mans temple. She couldn't possibly be thinking something as delusional as eating another human being could she? The human in toso tried to rationalize the situation the squid in toso was clearly unnerved. Toso would then look at Kagerou almost pleadingly. Uncertain whether Haruko's advance cared about her input on the situation or not.
Ooc: If you've trained in soft physical up to C for that lunge yes you would be good, if not then no you wouldn't be good but I'm considering it C haven't already you could take this as an opportunity to actually learn the chopstick style from someone who knows it.

Before Kagerou could answer, Toso interrupted the exam she was giving. She watched the exchange with a smile that was equal parts bemused, like she knew what was going on, and confused.
While the two exchanged a few blows, Kagerou took the chance to let Emi know a few things. "Haruka seems to be a nice enough girl, if a little scatterbrained. I think it would be good for you to work together." Their temperaments would balance each other out. They might even rub off on each other. With time limited, instead of giving Emiru one on one demonstrations, Kagerou had to resort to giving Emiru one of the books she had picked up from the academy. It was a slim textbook, and the title on the cover reflected its intent pretty clearly, as did Kagerou instructions, "I have a little situation I have to handle, but for now, this book will cover everything else that you'll need to learn in academy."
She wanted to say more, but things were starting to get out of hand on the other side. At this rate, Haruko might develop a taste for Toso's flesh, and the last thing Kagerou wanted was for Toso to find a new side of himself, be it his physical insides or a mental fetish.
Unbeknownst to Toso, Kagerou boosted his strength, making his strike stronger than he had anticipated. If he was aiming to simply match as Kagerou predicted, then he would accidentally overpower Haruko.
If and when that occurred, Kagerou would take the instant of reprieve given by the break in confrontation to step between Toso and Haruko. "Unsatisfactory but acceptable," she would give the overdue grade on Haruko's verbal exam, "As an academy student, you won't be faulted for only knowing this much, but as you grow, it's important to keep in mind some important factoids regarding domestic and international relations. In total, I'd give you... 3.5/5, so a 70%.
"The first question you got wrong was the first one I asked. Arashigakure was founded by a combination of former Kumo, Oto, and Kiri nin. At the moment, Kumogakure is the most important to keep in mind. The current leadership lends largely from former members of that village. Not without reason, of course.
"As for the second question, you nailed the kages on the head, but got the other two wrong. The chief of police is, according to popular opinion, indeed an angry man, but he's quite young. Sir Kenshin Kosei. I think you'll either learn a lot from him or will be altogether better off avoiding him. I never met the man, but I respect him for holding onto his position with such an iron grip. As for medic, you completely got that wrong. There are two answers here, neither of which are me. Depending on who you ask, either Lady Mizuki or Lady Tsukina are the best medics in the village. Lady Mizuki has more of a medical record with the village and is the undisputed queen of the hospital, but Lady Tsukina's eiseijutsu abilities, particularly in the context of surviving combat, are nearly legendary."
Kagerou gave a little bit for Haruko to absorb all of that. However, she wasn't done yet, and she would definitely get this last bit out. After a little while had passed or right as it seemed Haruko or anyone else was about to say something, whichever came first, Kagerou would slide in. "To be a member of a village includes respecting those of higher rank, if not for the individuals themselves than out of respect for the judgement of the leaders higher up. This includes knowing who the higher ranks are. Incidentally, it also includes not eating them. Remember to reflect on your answers and your actions later. For now, it's acceptable that you've passed this much of the written turned verbal portion of the exam. I just have one more question. What are the responsibilities and privileges of a genin? Do note that Arashigakure uses a 3 rank system for the genin title."

Emiru continued to be the nervous wreck that was herself, still muttering to herself and twiddling with her fingers as she briefly glanced up at the fellow student. She was noticeably older and more human-looking than she was. The child kept her eyes down as much as possible and only would look up when she introduced herself.
"Hello terrified person. You can call me Haruko or if its easier, Haru."
"It's nice t-to meet you..." Emi said, forcing her best to smile and seem un-intimidated but failing miserably. Curse her pale skin. "I'm Emiru, but Emi is fine." Her words were as short as her confidence and she just sorta watched before Haruko sensed squid and soon began to chase after it. Emi watched for a bit and actually would begin to laugh softly to herself. Kagerou spoke to her as they were busy and even suggested teaming up with her.
"B-But what if...she doesn't like me?" Emiru asked, wincing visibly at the thought of such an event. A book was soon placed into her hands and she was sent off to learn by herself. She hesitated but would walk a short distance away and begin to study some of the techniques for herself.

As the pair of chopsticks clanged against one another, Haruko was instantly forced backwards by the overstrength Toso. Haruko landed with a soft thud on the ground. It seemed that it would be some time before she could challenge him on an equal playing field. Haruko stood up, rubbing her bottom and dusting herself off. As Kagerou explained the results of the test, Haruko shot glances back and forth between Kagerou and Toso. Doesn't she notice that this is just a very sentient sea creature? He may have everyone else fooled with this human skin costume but I know he's up to something.
It seemed that Haruko wasn't as smart as she professed to be. She did think thought that she should have gotten partial credit for the first question too since she said Kirigakure. However, at the end of the day, a 70 was still a passing grade. For some reason, however, even though Kagerou had said she passed, she still had another question. I've had about all I can stands and I can't stands no more. Haruko grumbled under her breath but eventually answered the question anyway. "A genin is supposed to act as a member of a team, usually under a chuunin or jounin teacher. A basic genin cannot leave the village without a team leader escort and cannot perform missions above D rank without permission. A second-grade genin can leave the village with permission from their squad leader and can cannot perform missions above C rank without permission. A third-grade genin can leave the village as long as they notify their squad leader or kage and cannot perform missions above B rank without permission."

tab "Honestly, bloop." Toso would see haruko tumble as the metallic inky chopsticks in his hands melted, where in then he would shake his hand like someone would when there was no more paper towels and their hand was wet. He was at a brief loss for words in short, as he watched Kagerou begin laying down the knowledge. The door closed behind him in which he'd turn and sign before playing with his mining hat to see if the battery was still working. Odd seeing as there would have been noting that would imply it would just suddenly stop working.
It was then that one of Toso's stray tentacles would creep out from behind him and speak. 1."The pantry is still short I'm going to need more meat soon." It would say in its guttural like tone that sounded like it had smoked one pack too many. This would be a new sight for Kagerou as they hadn't seen each other since the blood moon but it looked like the event left a lasting impression on the squid man's body. Tentacle sporting creepy sharp teeth before Toso shooed it away. Was it the tentacle speaking itself? Or was it Toso's thoughts manifest? His tentacles before this unsettling change did portray his emotions where his face sorely lacked in that department.
"I see you've got things handled here Ka-nee. bloop. Although I wouldn't be too harsh bloop, to just assume I'm a higher ranked anything is a leap in logic bloop. Not everyone knows who I am you know bloop." Toso's eyes would narrow behind his glasses on Haruko's face...did he...know her? Ah, well if he did he couldn't remember. She was likely just another face in the village. Although it was strange for someone with a photogenic memory like his to forget a face. Then again it may have partly due to not wanting to remember a person who just genuinely attempted to..eat..him. He shook for a moment. As again another tentacle creeped out and spook with a frown. 2."I hope she hasn't caught on." Toso looked at it as it withdrew as though it had just been scolded. 'Caught on' in this case referring to his fear of being eaten but it could mean a number of things.
Toso would then look at Emi to dismiss any potential uncomfortableness he may have caused. "Ah, no worries they won't hurt you." Toso then sort of withdrew into himself to make sure there wouldn't be a third new voice making itself known. He'd get a handle on them eventually. He never had to worry about them talking before. "So Ka-nee if there isn't anything else I think I'm going to bloop..er go." In truth being around Haruko was incredibly uncomfortable, truth be told she was currently weaker than himself what with barely graduating and all but that still didn't put aside that the mad woman legitmately tried to consume him.

Kagerou double-tasked. While waiting for Haruko's answer, she looked over at the diligently working Emiru, making sure that she didn't hurt herself.
The answer given was flawless, if a bit lacking in spirit. Kagerou didn't need her eyes to sense Haruko's discontent and the knowing look she gave made it easy to read that the woman knew that the child was getting impatient. "Boring and anticlimactic as that question was," her voice lilted, "That was a make or break question for this test."
She didn't say anymore and punctuated her words by humming a short jingle. Her eyes scanned the training grounds, and Kagerou's peaceful expression looked for all the world like she was just passing time, which she indeed was. She was passing time while searching for her next inspiration to wing things from. In other words, she hadn't thought of what to do for the practical exam yet.
Her eyes lit up when she heard Toso request to leave. Well, sure, according to his tentacles earlier (they had gotten really honest~) he had some business to attend to, but it was his fault in the first place for dropping in here. "Actually, if you can spare a few more minutes of your time, then can you help me with the practical portion of the exam?" Kagerou made no attempt to hide the craftiness in her smile. She would be unfair and ask him but she wouldn't actually force him. "It'll be simple. All Haruko will need to do is make you laugh. 'Ha ha ha.' 'Ho ho ho.' 'Uf fu fu.' It doesn't really matter how it sounds or how it's achieved, just as long as neither side receives any permanent or severe injuries. How does that sound?". This question, it was directed to both parties in question, Toso and Haruko.

Make him laugh!? She really must have no clue what he is. She's gotta be under some kind of mass genjutsu cast by this squid kingpin. Haruko narrowed her eyes and glanced back and forth between Toso and Kagerou. How was she even supposed to make a dreaded monster of the high seas even laugh. She certainly had no desire to try and tickle a sea monster. He would probably try to eat her or even worse, fondle her with his flippers.
A ha! That was it. She could pretend that he had already fondled her with his flippers, and then Kagerou would have no choice but to side with her, rather than this heinous being. Haruko quickly dropped to her knees, clutching her stomach. She had no real idea how to appear pregnant or anything like that, but she thought it probably when something like this. "How do you expect me to make him laugh after he tried to get me pregnant. You saw the way he forced his chopsticks on me sensei. Save me." Fake tears and snot began to flow freely as Haruko crawled to Kagerou, tugging on her clothes.

tab He kept for the moment to please Kagerou, rocks weren't going anywhere and it seemed she had a genuine desire to try and make some sort of curricula involving him. Make him laught? He hadn't had a genuine laugh in quite some time...as he could recall it was about some weeks ago when he tormented that one jashinist girl whom tried to kill him. Even the laughs he shared with Unki were for the most part coverups to awkward scenarios and semi-forced. That was Haruko began to enact a vicitm game where in je'accuse was none other than himself. "Bloo bloo.." essentially the equivalent of one of those hehheh's someone does in an awkward situation. This laugh however, had no semblance of joy behind it as the man looked down visibly hurt but only based on the body language of him looking down. His face otherwise carried no inclinations of said emotion. Although his tentacles would slink out as if playing two sides of a concious expressing his inner concerns as they did. Each one popping out after the other each with their varying pitches.
"1.If she can so easily make such an accusation then my reputation even among the youth is perceived as a degenerate. 2. It's been five years and I'm still perceived a predator among the people I protect. 3. My efforts seem fruitless in trying to disprove this stereotype. 4. Every day I'm subjected to such accusations I fear I grow ever closer to throwing caution to the wind." All four tentacles then turned toward the crocodile tears of Haruko. Whether their whispered conversation amongst the man was heard would depend on if Kagerou could tune out Haruko enough to try and hear what they were saying among the ugly sobs. A familiar heavy aura around them like the first time he had visited her office. A possible bundle of straw that loomed on the metaphoric back of the squidman. The four of them withdrawing back into the Toso's back after what could have been the equivalent of a tentacle staredown.
He'd then raise his head as his stoic expression made itself apparent and known again, the aura he once exhumed replaced with the same excitement one would find from a history teacher giving a lecture without slides and without his morning coffee. "I suppose that counts as a laugh. bloop. The method of achieving it was...ah. Well, a laughs a laugh no? Regardless of the means used to achieve it bloop?" Underhanded tactics after all was the creedo of shinobi, they weren't samurai or practitioners of bushido. Success at the expense of another was recurring in this life. Blackmail, torture, misdirection. All these things a reminder of the career path Toso had taken, even if he did soften it with his civil services as a simple chef. That cruel reality still existed. Upstanding shinobi, in these five years of discovery Toso had learned, that term was an oxymoron.

Stopping by a book store to pick up a copy of 'How to life in Arashigakure'. Her sharingan blared down while the sword woman read as she walked. After a short time the raven haird Uchiha approached the academy before adjusting her glasses and looking up at the building. The female uchiha's eyes returning to their emerald color. With an audible clap from her book closing upon reaching her destination, Freya entered.
Once she entered the building the pig tailed uchiha gathered information on where she would need to go. After a few minutes Freya would arrive in an area with three others, two women and a man. Green hues glancing at the three Freya could tell that the brown haired girl around her age. It also seemed as if she was in some sort of test. Arriving at the point where the current test was to make the man laugh. Intrigued by the concept Freya looked onward. Accusations of assualt turning to mood rather sour instead cheerful the uchiha frowned. What was actually happening here? An expression filled with fear and awkwardness, Freya raised her hand. "Umm... Uhh. Excuse me... Kenshin told me I had to come here to pick up a genin head band..." Pausing for a moment Freya dug into a back pouch before presenting her temp residentcy papers gotten from Kenshin."Here is my papers... My name is Freya Uchiha. I was a genin in kiri..."
Mugen moved to the academy hall. It was his graduation day. He had worked so hard to obtain his ninja headband...today seemed...rather lack luster to him though. The class would gather in their old room, sharing stories of excitement and hopes of their adventures. Mugen would stand in the center of the crowd, boasting proudly how he aimed to be a great shinobi for the village. His peers surrounded him, laughing and joking as they would go their separate ways. Their ceremony ended and each of them would leave the academy to rest for the night.
As Mugen stood in the halls of the place he had learned his basic maruton techniques. " No...I'm not quite done today. I can still do more. Mugen would begin studying his basic doton ninjutsu. First he would learn the earth clone. Next, he would learn the rock throw technique.Following that, he would learn the earth bracer technique. Next, the Earth Military Movement Skill. These skills would be his first regiment of training.
For his second regiment of training, Mugen would begin with the final academy level doton technique. This would be the Swift Earth Technique. This technique was usable at the lowest rank but grew with power. Next, he would practice the Mud Moat Technique. This technique created pools of mud around the user. Following this, he would practice the Ground Shaking Technique. Following this, Mugen would learn the Double Suicide Technique. These would be the techniques of his second regiment of Doton training.
Mugen continued to his third regiment of training. First he would practice the Stone body replacement technique. This allowed him to replace his body with an explosive stone. Following this would be the Mud River Technique, a powerful forward force.Next, the ground shock wave technique. Finally, the final technique of the regiment would be mound creation. This technique created a large mound of earth that he would use to elevate himself from.
For his final regiment of Ninjutsu training of the Doton element, he would need to rest first. After resting, Mugen would begin. Mugen first practiced the Earth Dome Prison Technique. This technique would drain it's victims chakra and sustain itself. The next technique was the Mud Slide Barrier technique. This would create a giant wall of mud and earth. The following technique would be the Earth Style Split. A technique that split the earth, swallowed it's prey and closed itself. The final technique of the regiment would be the earth style rampart, a technique that created a giant wall of earth that was thirty feet in height.

An accusation like this, Kagerou naturally took seriously. Her usually natural smile seemed to have an invisible veil drawn over it. If one had to pinpoint the cause, it had to do with something about the expression of Kagerou's eyes changing.
Naturally, by taking it seriously, she could see through Haruko's lies. Her acting was well done for someone her rank. The ability to summon tears at will was valuable in plain sight subterfuge. However, to point out the obvious flaws: too sudden, too dramatic, too inexperienced. To point out the subtler flaws: too rigid, too level, too little detail.
Naturally, by taking it seriously, she was conscious to pay heed to Haruko's reactions and Toso's reactions. Since her attention was divided, she could only make out parts of what Toso's tentacles whispered, but between that and the sudden sensation of a heavy aura gave Kagerou enough to go on for a general gist of it all.
Kagerou was just about to void Toso's first laugh and ask him to consider his laughs seriously from henceforth. From the beginning, she had intended to count fake laughs as passes, but the intent had been to make this a multi-faceted test. Comedic types could go the straight route and attempt a genuine laugh. Most others, however, would need to realize that the true nature of this test wasn't to make Toso laugh but to create a desired result through whatever means necessary (within reason as these were academy students). She expected students to make a deal with Toso and receive a fake laugh as part of the deal.
However, Toso apparently did catch onto this intent behind Kagerou's exam and he gave Haruko the pass himself. In this kind of situation, Kagerou interfering wasn't a mercy, but a disrespect of Toso's personal choice.
This was when Freya arrived, and Kagerou looked in her direction to acknowledge her presence and introduction, but right now wasn't a good time to stop midway. The green haired, red eyed woman could simply nod gently. Her thoughts, underneath that cold smile, were unreadable, but there was certainly a feeling of "wait one moment" being emitted when Kagerou turned back to the matter at hand.
The false smile still up, Kagerou could only sigh inwardly. Her inner thoughts mirrored Toso's, but with a different angle. The nature of a shinobi was deception. To deceive was a strength one should be proud of. However, the nature of Haruko's means left a bad taste in Kagerou's mouth. It was valid, but it was extreme for an exam. By now, even just a few seconds after the accusation had been made, Kagerou did have the emotional recovery to let bygones be bygones, but if she let that happen, then what would that be teaching Haruko?
Kagerou gave Haruko a significantly stronger than it appeared rap on the head as she ended the exam in her favor, "Congratulations, you can end the act now, Haruko. You've passed. I understand this was to pass the exam, but I can't help but notice the animosity you have towards Mr. Toso... Still, I trust that you didn't actually mean for such a false accusation to be believed, whether now or in the future." An act is only good if it's maintained until the end, so Kagerou's cold smile lingered on Haruko until she got her attitude together.
The warmth returned when Kagerou turned her smile to Toso. "Sorry Toso," she apologized. It would be difficult to make Haruko apologize because she had the excuse of the exam, but the exam was Kagerou's creation and she hadn't been careful enough with it. "I didn't expect that outcome, so Haruko surprised me there. I'm sure she didn't actually want to land you with rape charges." Of course, a few words wouldn't be enough to dispel such an awkward feeling. In this type of situation, Kagerou could only give Toso the dismissal that he most likely wanted, "Thank you for giving us some of your time. I won't hold you any longer."
Kagerou gave a scroll that she had prepared in advance and some final instructions to Haruko before sending her off to the academy office to receive her graduation gifts. At the end, she added on, "By the way, have you eaten at Ika-Shokuji? I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a good place to have a celebratory meal. I've heard that they've also got some genin-friendly missions."
Once all parties (except for the still training Emiru) involved in the former incident left, Kagerou turned to give Freya a long-postponed friendly smile. She noticed the book. She noticed the unfamiliar appearance. She noticed the unfamiliar name. Earlier, because she had been particularly analytical, she noticed that Freya hadn't been lying, so either this child was lying about being a genin or "lying" about her name. The "lie" here being a name change to hide her identity. Well, that or false memories, but if Kagerou so easily accepted that option, then there would have been no point in her training.
The red eyes only gave Freya a casual once over in this short, split second interim. One could perceive it as sizing up, but that was natural for a teacher to do. Kagerou gave a meaningful look at the book, "I see you're new here," before going straight to locking eyes with Freya, "It's nice to meet you Freya. My name is Kagerou Kiritani," she took the papers Freya offered then stretched out a hand for a handshake, "As for Sir Kenshin's order... does he want a teacher to test your aptitude?".
Would Freya recognize Kagerou or not? It could go either way. Back in Kirigakure, Kagerou was definitely a part of the Uchiha clan, but the Uchiha clan of Kirigakure didn't have a rigid, centrist structure. As an individual, Kagerou didn't have any particularly outstanding achievements to her name. Aside from being the Mizukage's student for less than a week, she was just another Chuunin medic. According to public knowledge, she hadn't even awoken her eyes.

Another troublesome one. Emerald orbs locking with ruby orbs, Freya returned the gaze. As if not backing down the air seemed to thicken before collapsing due to her facade. "Oh umm!" Flushed red the pig-tailed girl had no trace of the air she once had. Waving her hands frantically she'd take a step back once she was relived of the papers. "Im sorry I don't so well with such pretty people!"Her tone full of embarrassment she'd blurt out what she was thinking. Actions only being realized after, causing her to drop to her knees and cover her face with both hands."How embarrassing.." Mumbling out she wondered if it was okay if she died here and now.
Taking a moment to gather her composer Freya let out a voice from behind her hands. "I remember you..Not until we met eyes that I realized it. I was sickly and just a little girl but I remember you. "Hands falling from in front of her face green hues stared up at Kagerou before a bright smile was revealed. "Even though it was Nee-san who knew more about you, she can't be here to greet you. So I'll do it for her even if you don't recall this small sickly girl." As she spoke Freya rose to her full height. A flash of sadness when she mentioned that her sister couldn't be here. "From the main family branch of the Uchiha, I Freya Uchiha would like you thank you for surviving the war!" Her tone formal she'd drop the formalities and speak from her heart instead. "It makes me really happy to have met you again Kagerou Kiritani!"
Mugen would begin training his water release techniques. Mugen was more adept to using earth than water, but it was an equally useful skill. To begin, Mugen would learn the Water Manipulation Technique. Next Mugen would learn the Trick of Water Technique. Following the Trick of Water Technique, Mugen would learn the Water Mirror Technique. Finally, the Fish Spit Technique. This would conclude the four of five basic water techniques that were taught at the academy. It was a good review for him.
With only one more technique to review, Mugen would practice the technique. The last academy technique was the Water Sword Technique. Next Mugen would learn the Water Shield technique, a technique that made a shield of water. Following that Mugen would practice the Water Puddle Technique which he found extremely useful. Finally, He would learn the Hidden Mist Technique. This would conclude all his training for this regiment.
Continuing his training, Mugen would learn the Waterfall Basin Technique. This would create large sources of water to manipulate later. Next he would learn the Water Transportation Technique. This technique would allow the user to travel between bodies of water at lightning fast speeds. Next, Mugen would learn the Mud Ball Technique. This technique spat a ball of mud that would make it hard to move and eventually harden and break apart. This would conclude Mugen's Suiton Ninjutsu Training.
To finish his Ninjutsu Training, Mugen would learn the One Hundred Blossoming Flowers technique. This would let Mugen create blossoms from his techniques, allowing them to explode on contact. His next technique would be the Shadow Clone Technique. It was a versatile skill that allowed the user to copy them self. Unlike normal clone techniques, this one gave the user unparalleled abilities in that the clones would return any information gathered to the user upon being dismissed. This would be the last of Mugen's standard Ninjutsu training.
