While she might have wanted a name that reflected her purpose, she had been the first welcoming guide to a entire new world, and he felt she was special as the one waiting for them at the city's gates.
"May I name you Sophie?"

"What's the Garden?" Noah asked. He was trying to look in all directions at once, and succeeded mostly in looking like a rubbernecking tourist. His eyes sparkled with excitement and fascination. This was amazing.

The mermaid tilted her head on direction and then the other and then finally enunciated the word Sophie. Slowly at first and then more naturally. The voice was slightly different from what they'd been hearing, the intonations closer to what Melvin had heard upon arrival. "Yes, I will be Sophie." Her motions began to seem a little slower than before as she turned to answer Noah. "The gardens are....be...llll..below." The lights along her mechanical body flickered briefly, then seemed to dim. "Ah. I see your energy source is somewhat more limited than..." Babel slowly descended to the ground, where it merged with the ornate patterns at their feet. Sophie's form began to follow, flickering once before she too, merged with the ground. An ornate mechanical mermaid pattern among several. The lights along the walkway began to dim soon after, until Atlantis went dark around them.

Melvin smiled as she tested the name, but soon watched as the entire place flickered like a dying lightbulb before Sophie dropped with her fish. Despite seeing her vanish to the ground, he was amazed on hoe she could become merged into the surfaces of Atlantis.
"Sophie?" He said before kneeling to touch the pattern and then tried to turn on the light to his helmet. Drained.
"Our combined energy trying to power a city. Damn. I really wanted to walk around more. I'll need to bring my entire cache of stones and see if I can't find their energy source and bring it back to life."
He looked back down at the pattern of Sophie and sighed. "I can't believe we found this place."
He needed to get back here immediately!!
Standing, he called out. "We need to head back. We should have just enough to make it to the surface. I am not sure if that door has a time limit before it closes and without power we wont be opening it again?"

Kimberly's lips twitched as it went dark. She had been happily snooping into everything, and had been poking her head into one of the houses, still looking for a small statuette or animal figurine that she could, borrow. They would come back afterall. She was sure she had just found one as things went dark, and with a sigh did the only thing she could. She reached out for it hoping to snag it before they headed back out.

It was a spike of sorts, a long pyramid shape that felt solid in hand, smooth sided and a little longer than her palm. It had been sitting on a small platform, prominent and clearly visible. On contact, it glowed briefly, illuminating the room once again with a school of ghostly fish before leaving her once again in pitch darkness. steal there will be consequences, potentially long term, should she take it back to Deus

lizbot Kim shall take the consequences, cause she seemed so sure she wanted to thief something. She needs to deal with her misdeeds Kim stared at the fish with a smile crossing her lips, and she took up the lovely item, slipping it in with her items. She would of course end up taking it to deus, but she was curious. She looked again at the pyramid before it went into the kit bag. It was nice, it glowed. Hmm.. She smiled and headed back out to join everyone, the perfect crime.... well likely not but she was still back with the group before they all took off so she at least wasn't left behind.

"I guess we couldn't have enough to keep a city going for long." Noah sighed, disappointed. They'd just gotten here, and they couldn't explore more. There might be gardens down here, but he had no idea if they'd generate enough oxygen to sustain life for any amount of time without backup power, and anyway if they got trapped here they might not be able to count on anyone else coming along to rescue them. It was a risk they couldn't take.

Melvin did a head count, pointing in the dark as he tried to collect everyone. "Did anyone see - oh, there you are Kim. Okay, that's everyone. Stick close. I don't want anyone falling back. I'm gonna count everyone through the door before I go last. Let's head back."
Ushering everyone along, he started everyone out to the door.

The door is still open, though it closes after they exit. Kim is no longer able to swim or even float, and will have to be hauled up by another hunter before her air gives out.

A slowly dawning look of horror crossed over Kim's face as she flailed and kicked and just remained down at the bottom. She felt like she was in the first Sonic the hedgehog game. Time running out, and no air bubble coming up. She cried out through her head set. "Uh, I seem to be.. um.. not able to get out of here..."
Remain calm Kim... try not to panic. She looked back at the door suddenly thinking she may end up some where huddled in an air pocket praying for sweet death..
