Tikhara was awakened on the top of a mountain during a lunar eclipse in the Hallows, the clearing surrounded by a fairy ring. Her parents believed it was the most magic imbued location in the Scepters, hoping their child would be born a prodigy. Regardless of whether they were right or not, they always treated Tikhara as if she would grow to be the most powerful magic user their clan had ever witnessed. She was expected to practice her magic regularly while also excelling in her studies - a lot of pressure for a child, but she was determined to live up to their expectations. It may have been the location where she was awakened or through her hard work, but Tikhara proved to be a talented child, showing a particular finesse for healing and warding magic. While her parents would have preferred her to favour pyrestia or other combat magics, they were delighted by her skill. On the rare occasions the hallowed was allowed time for their own interests, Tikhara explored the tall mountains and their extensive cave systems. She became particularly fond of the crystals that grew deep into the mountainside, enamoured by their colours and shining glory. She felt pulled to the crystals, feeling as though every rock was imbued with some sort of charm magic.
By the time she was an adult, Tikhara had proven herself as the most skilled magic user in her clan, just as her parents had wished. While her wings were not large nor powerful enough for flight, she was able to use various spells to aid her in gliding, thus overcoming her one perceived flaw. Naturally, the chimera had grown incredibly confident in her abilities and believed that others should always succumb to her will. She was a clear-headed, skilled and charming individual, after all - why wouldn't one listen to her? Wanting to expand her skills beyond her small village, Tikhara travelled to the most prolific establishment to further her magical studies - Leviathan university. She continued to hone her skills in healing magics and charms, delighting her professors and peers with her talents. She soaked up all their praise and was pleased but not surprised when she topped her graduate class.
Of course, the passionate Tikhara still wasn't satisfied. Her natural attraction to crystals hadn't faded, and she found herself in the Asphodel community college to study crystals and how to use them. While it felt like such an establishment was beneath her, she was fond of her studies and the admiration she received from her fellow students. She graduated the course early and had finally realised what she had always known; she was a witch, and it was time to begin her life as such. She was already in one of the most populated cities in the world, so she quickly set up a small shop come apartment near the inner city. She cultivates magical crystals, imbuing them with healing magic that emit auras that help calm and encourage healing. Her ability to charm customers helps her make exuberant sales, and she's been told by several of her regulars that they struggle to find happiness without the aid of her products. Tikhara is all too happy to infect their lives, subconsciously enjoying the power it brings.

Glory was an 'army kid', born to a single mother in the military. Her mother solo imbued Glory's stone, wanting a child but fearing the commitment of a relationship. As a child, Glory moved between a lot of cities and small towns as her mother was frequently redeployed. Often she was needed for relief work or rebuilding structures still feeling the effects of the 50 years war, however occasionally she was needed on the field to deal with uprisings or civilian riots. Glory wasn't able to spend much time with her mother and was instead forced into small classes of other military kids, learning practical skills over conventional academia. When she was just a junior, Glory received a letter from a captain - her mother had died in action, saving one of her fellow soldiers. Her rifle had malfunctioned and she was unable to defend herself from the enemy. Glory's world was shattered and it took her years to overcome the shock of losing her mother.
Of course, Glory was one of many military orphans and there was already a program established to help children in her situation. She was sent to Asphodel academy to finish her studies, as they had the facilities to care for her outside of classes. She became an even quieter child, only interacting with others to offer them assistance or defend the downtrodden. Glory continued the physical training regime they had taught her in the military classes - the chimera was determined to follow in her mother's footsteps and join the army, hoping it would please her spirit. Bullying was never a problem for Glory; it was rare anyone would be upset at such an unobtrusive, helpful person, but even if there were those who disliked her, she was physically strong enough to fight off just about anyone. She wasn't violent, however, preferring to use her physical skills to assist others than to fight.
After graduating from the academy, Glory consulted her teachers on what they thought she should do with her life. She knew she wanted to join the military, but the fate of her mother made her wary of being pure infantry. One of her favourite teachers suggested she pursue engineering due to her logical brain and precision. Delighted by the suggestion, Glory immediately enrolled in Asterion to study mechanical engineering. At the back of her mind, she couldn't stop thinking about how her mother's weapon had malfunctioned, playing a large part in her death. Glory refused to let such a fate happen to any other soldiers, and specialised in mechanical repair skills. Graduating with a high distinction, Glory immediately enlisted in the chimera military to become a military engineer. She has few ambitions beyond aiding the military and saving lives, having neglected her social life entirely. Only time will tell if something - or someone - can pull Glory out of her one track mind and empty future.

Despite being born with a lumbering tail and large paws, Dolly has always been drawn to creative activities. Since he was a child, Dolly has covered himself in paint and rolled around on canvases, loving to see the colours mixing together and the shapes he could make. His parents identified his talent early on, and were happy to provide him with any supplies and classes he required. They quickly learnt Dolly didn't do well in structured environments - being told how to create seemed to aggravate him and interrupt his otherwise playful demeanour. Fortunately for Dolly, his parents were wealthy - one of his mothers being a fashion designer and the other a seamstress. They could afford to pay for tutors to allow him to excel in his schooling and provide him with any high quality materials he demanded.
Once he graduated from the Academy - with flying colours and a well-developed network of friends - Dolly didn't hesitate in going to Grendel University. Where else would a creative spark go than to the most esteemed institute for fashion and art? The hallowed was positive he'd become a seamstress, using his own paintings as prints for beautiful dresses and jumpsuits. He dedicated two years to this endeavour, and while he performed well, he couldn't maintain his energy. After a while it just seemed too simple - it was too dangerous to stray too far from the popular cuts of clothing, and the market was so over-saturated. He longed for vintage styles of days long past, but his take on modernising the past was met with disinterest. He couldn't get excited at the idea of launching a career in modern fashion, which shook him to his core. Dolly had never considered any other path in life, he simply assumed this was what he would be doing. He began to lose his playful energy, his results in classes quickly dropping.
Like a scene from a movie, on a perfectly normal day, Dolly had an inspirational moment that shaped his future. He was sitting at one of his favourite cafes, occasionally glancing at the dog park across the street. Mid sip, someone approached him, gushing over the floral bandanna he had tied around Biscuit, his canine tail. Before he had time to thank them, they asked where he'd bought it - why, he'd made it of course. Suddenly, his life became clear. Finally, a clear course to use his skills in a field that is more unique and fun - fashion for animals! Familiars, shade tails, whatever, he'd have something for all of them. Using money he'd earned from selling his art designs online and a small loan from his mothers, Dolly was able to launch a business of selling his prints on bandannas, coats and collars for everyone's fuzzy family members. Dolly is thrilled with his current life, and is always looking for ways to expand his already-popular business.

name.ark'ess nicknames.none gender.female race.hallowed kumiho // elf birthday.3rd of february 2019 zodiac.spear orientation.pansexual occupation.witch partner.none colour.#a96b78 song.san fermin - the woods
Ark'ess was imbued just prior to October by a kumiho merchant and an elf jewellery maker. They didn't want to risk their child dying from the curse by awakening the stone so close to October, so Ark'ess was still a crystal when they embarked on a long-distance business trip. The route they would usually take was obstructed by storm damage, so they were forced to make a new path through unexplored woods. To the surprise of everyone, the merchant caravan was ambushed by a mysterious tribe of sluagh; the only known survivor was the stone that contained Ark'ess. Uncaring if the child would die from being awakened, the cult hoped that a mutant child may be the key they needed to defeat the elves. They were horrified when they realised Ark'ess was, herself, an elf hybrid - symbolising everything they hated. As a result, Ark'ess was treated with cruelty by the cult that raised her, demanding perfection and punishing anything less.
By the time she was seven, the cult decided she did not have the magical potential they so desperately desired. While Ark'ess was talented, she couldn't meet their harsh standards. More than that, she had a distinct weakness in her blindness - she could only see blurred shapes and the auras of living creatures. With no emotional attachment to the child, they decided to drag her deep into the woods and abandon her there, sniffling and crying in agony. They assumed - and hoped - Ark'ess would perish in the woods, a miserable failure who could never amount to anything. Perhaps she would have perished, if it wasn't for the fire inside her. Ark'ess was determined to prove those bastards wrong and began training so fiercely it made her upbringing seem like paradise. She learnt to survive on her own and use the animals in the woods to survive and thrive. Within a few years she had become a powerful, dangerous witch. She had used magic to regain most of her sight, but still maintained her talent for identifying living auras.
Ark'ess used her intimate knowledge of the woods to locate the cult, determined to seek revenge for abandoning her. She hovered by the edge of their camp, analysing it for weaknesses, when she spotted someone... strange. They had horns and a tail and looked nothing like the sluagh. Ark'ess watched this girl - a few years younger than her - and grew furious. They were treating her like a god, praising her skills and bowing down to her power. Ark'ess could hardly see through her hateful jealousy, wanting to emerge from the shadows and slay the girl on the spot. How could they treat her with such respect when they cast Ark'ess away like garbage? A cold fury washed over her, and the hallowed decided to take her time and observe the girl - Sed'Hera, they called her - to find her best time to strike.
This observation lasted years - Ark'ess quickly discovered the hut Sed'Hera lived in, often sitting only a few feet away to watch her. Just like Ark'ess, she had an affinity for alchemy and dark magic, but Ark'ess considered herself leagues ahead of this pampered princess. She grew more hateful with each passing year, developing her own powers to ensure she would handily defeat Sed'Hera during their eventual conflict. Her revenge was snatched away from her, however, when an expedition team from Below were ambushed by the cult. They were there for Sed'Hera and her demon father, and before Ark'ess could make a move, the hybrid emerged from her hut and wiped out the sluagh. Ark'ess watched in awe as the girl harnessed dark magics to engulf the camp, destroying her enemies within moments. It was an impressive feat, causing Ark'ess to only become more bitter. She had only been able to practice her magic on animals and random wanderers, could she confidently say she was as powerful as Sed'Hera?
Dark and twisted, Ark'ess remains in the woods, living in a small hut carved out of a large tree. Still obsessed with power and defeating Sed'Hera - the new face of the cult for her - she is blinded by hatred. Eventually she may be discovered by another sentient creature or decide to explore the rest of the world, but she has known no life beyond the woods she was abandoned in.
