She handed the food over and the look of thanks she got was enough to make her smile. They started to eat the food with hurried hands. They were all so hungry, but before long she could see the little one looking up at her. What was wrong? Those around them started to fall and Mirin gasped. The food was bad? The little one's eyes were full of fear and desperation as she too fell to the floor.
Mirin felt the terrible weight of it on her shoulders but then everyone was gone and her nose was filled with smoke. A game? She looked to the table and saw the wheel. She was ready to play, that she could decide in less than an second. She placed her bet and rubbed her hands together, waiting for the results.

The wheel clicks furiously, the bets are all placed and everyone’s watching. Where will it land? It starts to slow and you start to hold your breath. The wheel clicks, timing down to the winner and when it stops you can’t believe what you’re seeing. You and your friend won! Your bet paid off! You start to cheer and you look to your friend. They’re cheering too but they have a weird look on their face. When you both calm down enough they tell you that… they’re keeping the prize. You look confused, but they take all the earnings and pocket it. They were the one who talked you into it after all…

The crowd is still congratulating you and your friend on your win when your vision starts to wave and wobble. You blink your eyes, trying hard to fight whatever it was going on, but it’s not getting any better, even with rubbing. When you move your hands away you can see that you’re nowhere near where you were. Everything around you has changed. You’re outside now, the wind kicking up a breeze around you, the hot sun beating down over your head. It looks like you’re in your training grounds. There’s a trainer barking orders to you and your training partner. What was happening?
You remember now, you had the idea of trying to learn to ride a janarim. You were training for what felt like days, but you and your friend were getting nowhere. You can feel yourself getting frustrated, but then before you realize it your training partner managed to get it. You can hear your trainer issuing praise to your partner, but you can’t help but think that it was your plan, and they were getting all of the reward from it. You worked hard, you tried, and you were the one who came up with it after all.

You can’t seem to be happy for your partner. You can feel the envy settling in along with the jealousy. You can’t help but think it’s just not fair. You can’t even look at your friend, at least not until you make sure you can do it too. Maybe that will get you some attention around here.

You can feel the jealousy setting in, welling up in your chest, but you try to push it back. Even though it was your idea, they managed to get the hang of it first, and you should be happy for them, even if you do feel like it was a lot of wasted effort on your part.
Post the following form in the thread to show you have selected this choice, and feel free to roleplay a response as well.
You feel it, the envy, the jealousy, and a touch of anger. It was your idea, and they stole all of the glory from you. You feel dejected. You can’t seem to look at your partner anymore, and the idea of trying to continue training is a hard one to swallow. Maybe it would be better if you just gave it all up.

He couldn’t believe it! They’d won! Dex looked to Shikori with a big grin, which instantly wilted. She.. was keeping it all? That wasn’t like her! He just gawked in shock as the winnings were tucked into Shikori’s pockets... but the scene began to blur, and he rubbed at his eyes to chase off what he thought were tears.
Blinking them open again, Dex took a step back from the bright light. Was he in Oba again?! The training grounds he stood on were not unfamiliar, and he looked at the only two other people there. His trainer and his partner.
Right! They’d been training for days! It was becoming increasingly frustrating to go each day without success... and then his partner got it! At first, he felt very proud of his partner, glad for the success. But.. he had been working hard, too. His partner had succeeded with the idea he had come up with.... His hands clenched together as the jealousy tried settling in, managing to keep a smile on his face.

Rhonann- Post 6 HP 8
I CHOOSE CHOICE A
As the ball settled on the winning number, Rhonann clapped excitedly, though even that was slightly tempered. If only she’d put down a bet as well. She could have used the winnings. Frowning as the scene seemed to wobble, she brushed at her eyes a few times. Opening them back up, she winced from the bright light and hot air. Where was this?
Training with the janarim? Ugh! Still?! She was getting so tired of fighting with those rotten creatures. She turned to get back to work, when she heard the praise. Her training partner? ..but, she’d been working her butt off, trying to ride one of those buggers! That traitor took her idea and won!
Gritting her teeth, she turned to face the challenge again. She was going to beat this if it was the last thing she did!

Faamy- Post 6 HP 13
I CHOOSE CHOICE C
She watched the game with a sharp gaze, eyes locked on the ball. It took a moment to sink in, but she was soon jumping for joy. She’d won!! Her eyes filled with joyful tears, and she rubbed at her eyes when her vision wouldn’t clear.
When it did clear, she blinked with surprise. A desert? Ah! A training ground! Right. The janarim. She sure hated trying to ride those, but her mother had insisted... She and her training partner had been working for days. She was ready to try a new tactic!
Brow knitting, she turned to see her partner getting praised. Had.. had her partner gotten the job done? Had they used her idea to get success first? That wasn’t fair! She’d been the one to think of it! She should have gotten first try!
This time, it was tears of frustration... and resentment. How could her partner have done this?! It felt like a betrayal! She felt sick with anger. Maybe she should just stop trying... She wasn’t cut out to ride such beasts...

Aylin Post 6 - Choice B HP: 5
I CHOOSE CHOICE B
Aylin watched the ball clicking across the wheel anxiously- she should be leaving, but couldn’t abandon her friend to the fire- chewing her bottom lip as the ball clicked once, twice, last onto Marlaya’s bet! Perhaps if she had gone in on the bet … but no, there was no time. The smoke began to sting her eyes and she rubbed them to clear her vision, they couldn’t escape with the world waving and wobbling before her!
When she cleared her vision she found Marlaya and herself to be in an entirely new place. It seemed vaguely familiar, like a training ground she had once seen on the thinning forest border of Neued. A trainer on the edge of the clearing barked an order and her minds was drawn away from the sun pouring onto parched earth and the dust stinging exposed skin as it journeyed on gusts of wind. That’s right! They were training to ride a janarim with Marla’s winnings- why had she come up with this plan, to learn how to ride an Oban mount?
She was mystified by this conundrum but was determined to succeed nonetheless, she and Marlaya training for days in the hot sun and cloying dust, the trainer never ceasing his harsh tirade of instruction. But then Marlaya suddenly excelled, mastering their mount and taking the trainer’s commands with ease. His harsh tone turned to one of admiration as he lauded Marla’s handling of the creature and Aylin could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks. Partially frustrated that she was still no good at riding, but mostly embarrassed due to the jealousy she felt for her friends progress. She wasn’t used to jealously and it tasted sour in her mouth, sure she may have suggested that they try to learn riding, but why should she begrudge her closest friend’s talent? She shook her head and shoved that jealousy aside, she was determined to take joy in Marlaya’s success, and perhaps she’d pick up the training again in the future!
Vollerei HP: 17 Volle would still be happy for her friend... besides she had Zweil! And she could do this! It might just take a bit of time....

Jacinthus - Post 6 HP: 9
I CHOOSE CHOICE A
Jacinthus found himself starring, mouth agape, at Takoda as his mate was suddenly gathering up all of the money, announcing that he was taking it, "Wait... what?" Why was he taking it all? They had made the bet together and yet Takoda had decided that the winnings were his? To be honest he was a bit confused since it seemed a bit out of character for his wonderful mate. He opened his mouth to ask him what was going on and what it was that he needed the winnings for... but he never got the chance as he was dragged into yet another situation at a dizzying pace.
This time he found himself standing there before... a janarim? One of those beasts from Oba? He gritted his teeth, not caring for the creatures in the least bit he wanted to balk at being so close to them. At least until he realized that he was standing alongside of his sister, the two of them seemingly in competition trying to learn to ride the creatures. He found himself trying to figure out why it was, why they were trying to ride the creatures? Their had to be some reason for wanting to learn about the beasts when his dislike of the beasts was clear. Was it just because of the challenge presented? Was it because he and his sister used to do things like this a lot when they were younger, trying to best one another at all things?
He jerked his head around, listening to the one who was barking orders, though he wanted to tell the man off, to tell them that he was a grown man that shouldn't be treated like a child. He didn't though, instead feeling that all he and his sister had to do was show off that they could do this! He even had a plan to show off that he could do this as well, even if it wasn't high on his list of things he wanted to do. The plans that he was came in ended up helping too, allowing Keilana to figure out how to ride the beast before him.
It was something that was impressed with, though at the same time he definitely didn't enjoy failing in front of his little sister, "Alright, I'm going to figure this out." Jacin murmured to himself, determined to learn how to ride the janarim so that he could catch up with Keilana.

Chalcedony - Post 6 HP: 19
I CHOOSE CHOICE B
Chalcedony found himself standing there, eyes wide, as he was declared a winner in the game. He blinked a couple of times as the gold was handed over to him, then looked around at everyone cheered him on, "Oh... huh... wow." That was unexpected, but definitely welcome after the last nightmare that he'd gone through. He turned to look over at Takoda, giving him a smile. That was nice, it would appear as though Takoda was quite the good luck charm, wasn't he? He was kind of curious what he should do next... when the world around him seemed to shift once more, dragging him away from the game and he found himself somewhere very hot, dry, and windy.
"Huh?" Looking around he found himself with others, standing alongside Keilana once more, "Ah! Keilana?" He wanted to ask her what was going on and what they were doing... when the barking voice of a trainer dragged his attention forward. They were... training to ride janarim?! Wow, that was definitely unexpected. He had seen his son doing so many times in the past but he'd never even thought of it himself, having been fine walking everywhere he went instead. Still, it seemed as though he'd signed up for this class alongside of Keilana. Maybe it was due to his earlier desire to train alongside his sons? Was this part of that? So he could keep up with Aysun?
After getting their orders the two of them started to plan about how they would get this done, wanting to be able to figure out how to ride correctly, and with a bit of luck Chal felt he was able to figure it out. With the plan in place Keilana was able to figure out exactly how to ride the beast, making the woman appear that much more intimidating, but Chal not so much. He felt a bit jealous that she was able to figure it out and that he couldn't... but he couldn't be mad at Keilana. She looked as though she was enjoying herself after all and who would say anything against her at the moment? Between the janarim and the hammer she carried anyone challenging her would be quite foolish. He felt a bit silly over his failures, worried that it hadn't been time well spent... still, he couldn't be upset with Keilana, instead deciding to cheer her on.

Mosi Post Six 11 HP

I CHOOSE CHOICE A

The coins were cold in her hands for mere moments before her vision shifted and they were gone. Her balance wavered and she would have fallen had it not been for the strong arm she found under her palms. The strong... blue... arm. Mosi stepped back, a mixture of disgust and fear fluttering in her chest.
"You..."
"Me, what? You asked me here to train with you, remember?" He grinned, gesturing at the giant creature behind him. "With the janarim?"
Okay, no. She would remember something like that. She didn't even know this man's name, let alone where she might have run across him again to invite him anywhere. Though he was probably at the market fairly regularly, and it was conceivable that her competitive nature would lead her to ask... and his name was Elesh. Surely she had always known that...
"Yeah, fine. What were we doing?"
As if her acceptance of the situation had been some sort of signal, a large, dark-skinned man appeared, holding the reins of a pair of the mounts. "You will each take a janarim and attempt to coax it to carry you from here to there." He pointed, a low fence appearing as he gestured. "If you're ready..."
Mosi hurried forward, taking the reins for the beast on the left and wiggling into its saddle. She was more than ready. She would beat Elesh into the ground and lord it over him for the rest of his days. She would...
A joyous whoop echoed through the field, and when she turned to see what had caused it, her stomach froze with jealous envy. He was already there. She had barely secured her seat and the Matori had beaten her. Their dubious instructor was by his side, laughing and patting the beast on his flank.
Mosi squared her shoulders. She would not allow this. She could do it too. It had been her damn idea and everyone was going to acknowledge that. She led the janarim to the fence, expecting fanfare, congratulations, or at least a nod of acknowledgement, but no one noticed at all.
