She thought some fruity flavored cakes would be nice this time! She liked red fruits the best, because red and pink were the tastiest colors and everyone knew that, because they were the best. Still, she hadn't managed to make a mooncake that the booth runner liked, because she was awful at everything she did, but she liked it well enough. Eating her mushy mooncake, she looked for her next booth to visit.

Oh yeah! Natash's crops! She had almost forgotten about them, and now when she checked the exchange rate she saw the yucky looking tarnips were worth a whole ticket per tarnip! And she had ten! The perfect number to exchange. She felt pretty clever for waiting until this most opportune time to turn them in. Loading them all onto the counter she grinned. "Ten tickets please! For giving you all my tarnips!"

The seadweller peered into the pot. She could smell all sorts of things, and offered a delicious sort of... root vegetable maybe? To be added to the pot. Yum! It was smelling better already, and she hungrily awaited the time for the food to be shared with her, feeling her belly grumble. Soon... She drooled a little as she she stared into the bubbling pot.

Karrem was eager to bake the mooncakes again. It was clear she was a mooncake natural, so this would be an obvious piece of mooncake. Karrem confidently approached the mooncake stand and got to work. She decided to stick to a similar formula, as her last mooncakes had truly been a thing to behold. Unfortunately, she still couldn't get a hold of the pressing! This time she made an even worse mistake, pressing too lightly. Her hesitance got the best of her. It wouldn't happen again next time! She would make sure of it.

Sleeeeeepy. Engrav had finally fallen asleep after a few days and the slime was taking it's toll. He felt like just falling over on the carnival grounds and napping, but that probably wasn't a good idea. Also, he was pretty hungry.

Engrav went back to the mooncake booth again. The greenblood running the booth smiled at him warmly, and he smiled back. What a nice lady! Nice. Just... Nice.

His face fell into the mooncakes as he was pressing them, and he started snoring. The other trolls nearby glanced at him, and then looked at each other, then glanced back at Engrav.

After he woke up, he threw the cakes in the oven for a bit. Ha! these were Engravcakes, not mooncakes! And a little squished. Tasted fine though. A little nutty.

Chiara had been walking by the crop stand daily, just to check on the turn in prices, but so far it was atrocious. 2 for one ticket? or lately the terrible 6 for one ticket! This guy was being ridiculous! Finally a reasonable trade. It wasn't perfect, and Chiara suspected things would get better later, but she couldn't really tell. So she jumped on that wagon asap!

Tickets won: n/a not collecting tickets (but wow how did you manage a -5 Anguis)

It was kind of exciting being at a festival, Anguis had to admit. Especially since it wasn't hosted by the monarchy, so it was less of a risk to go out and actually enjoy himself. So when Luxara had come by with news of it, he had agreed to go along with her and enjoy himself. Even if so far she was just dragging him around, it was a lot of fun seeing things that he wasn't able to see in the swamp. Or well, wasn't at the moment. He'd leave soon, but that was a topic for another time.

He watched with amusement as Luxara baked, knowing she wasn't one to try baking but still managing to do a pretty good job as far as he could tell. The mooncakes looked good and he snagged one from her with a nod, taking a bite. It was pretty good and he smiled, "These are pretty good, maybe I should try myself."

He looked over and got a nod from the troll before moving to try himself, looking out over everything that was available. Apparently Luxara had made it look too easy because Anguis managed to make the most terrible looking mooncakes possible. Even the troll manning the stall looked bad for him and he glanced at his somehow both mushy and overcooked cakes. How could something so charred be so soft?

"I think I'll let you do the cooking with these..." He muttered, giving a sad poke at one of the blackened things.

Gl!tch~
he's real impressive.

"Ah, haven't seen you in a bit." said the tealblood, giving Engrav a sideways glance. "You back to discover how i'm plotting against you?"

"Nah." He said, smiling at her. "Just tired. Gonna nap." He hopped into the hay pile and spread out, snuggling into the pile.

The tealblood shrugged.

A few hours later, he hopped back out, yawning. The Tealblood shrugged again, and handed him a ticket.

It had been a little while since Engrav had added anything to the stew pot. He shuffled through his pockets sleepily, then tossed a bit of hay in from the hay pile. She troll stirring the pot gave him a dirty look, but he smiled back, yawned, and wandered off into the carnival. This was fun!

There was a festival about and if Klymen was anything, it was someone who participated in events. Or at least ones her dad made her go to, grumbling that she needed to "get out and meet trolls" or something like that. Whatever, she was here now and that's what mattered and well. Klymen wasn't someone about to turn down playing games for tickets, especially if it was just digging around in a haystack. Finding a needle shouldn't be too hard of a problem, it was shiny after all.
Yet Klymen found herself coming up empty handed and she scowled, collecting her ticket for getting hay in her hair and moving on. She'd find it another time.

Klymen wandered a little further, finding a mooncake stand and an invitation to try them. With a wry smile she made her way in, deciding to give it a go for once. Maybe she'd be great? She wasn't much of a baker but she was good at... well not cooking but still. She could definitely try.

For a first go it wasn't bad, finding her way with some parts and completely off track with others. The end result wasn't too bad though and she popped one in her mouth, chewing with some satisfaction. Definitely room for improvement, but at least edible unlike some other poor sap's she had seen.

Klymen stared at the sign, debating on if she should try it or not. It seemed like a good experience in something she hadn't tried but the farmer, well. She chewed on her lip in thought before finally stepping forward, picking her crops quietly. She didn't have to say anything, right? She frowned in thought as she picked out what seemed a well rounded group, then offered five of her tarnips for tickets. It was probably smart to keep hold on her other crops and a 1 to 1 exchange seemed best. She didn't want to keep hold on anything for too long anyways.

Finally after making the rounds (and eyeing up wrestling the snoutbeast, although perhaps later) Klymen finally came across the pot. It was just.. adding to it for a communal stew? That seemed good, but what to add? Searching her pockets, she found a smushed mooncake from earlier? Would that do? She dropped it in and then wandered off, wondering what to do next.

Treide wiped a floured hand across her forehead, a bright grin peeking below the battle mask of hunks of meat and flour. The cakes didn't look the best, but they were the edible and smelled good. The dough was mushy, probably from having put too much water into the mix. Oh well, next time she would do better. And since the dough was mushy, the stamp didn't come out perfect, but at least no filling was spilling out of it like an overstuffed bean bag.

Sliding them into the oven, Treide hunched down and watched as they baked. When they became a soft golden brown, she removed them quickly. Eh, they probably could have gone longer, but she was afraid of burning them in neglegence.

CD sat on the sidelines again and found himself stunned and perhaps a little happy that his charge had become so dedicated to the task of making these cakes. After all, Treide usually had the attention span of a gnat. Maybe even less. So, watching her preform a delicate task multiple times was... stunning.

Treide happened to be passing the booth of the crop exchange, and wouldn't you know it? It was boasting that Tarnips were in need, and that they would give a single ticket for ONE tarnip. Floored by the deal, Treide scuttled over and dumped ten of her tarnips on the table. She would have traded them all, but the stand runner pointed to a big sign, in bold font that proclaimed only ten at a time. Treide pursed her lips but continued with the deal. When it was done, she found ten tickets stuffed in her fist! Oh boy!
