Sarren usually wasn't one to go outdoors much, if at all. That said, he had taken the opportunity to learn about different plants and creatures that he hadn't known existed. That said, when coming back to the classroom, he found himself somehow missing being at the beach. Perhaps, he had enjoyed it more than he thought he would.
The best part about being at the beach were the creatures and new plants. It was fun to see things I hadn't known existed before. It was the first time I had seen a crab up close. I even managed to find a sand dollar and a sea star. Even though I wasn't allowed to keep those, I managed to find a few nice sea shells to add to my new collection! I can even put one to my ear and hear the ocean!"
Satisfied with his assignment, he moved to the front to turn in his paper.

Lorek found himself rather happy to have spent the time out on the beach. He had never been to the beach before and had never imagined it would be so much fun! He smiled just thinking about everything and quickly jotted down a paragraph for his assignment.
My favorite part of the beach was the waves! I had a fun time learning how to swim and I eventually got to try jumping them! It was really fun to be submerged in it and to see the ripples. I got to watch the sun make colors on the surface of the water. I would love to go again someday! It was really fun! I might even have to go swimming in a lake or something.

Alright, 9th time's the charm, right? She studied so hard for this make-up...
A SIXTY-THREE WOULD DO. She wasn't even mad as the tears welled up in her eyes as she clutched the paper to her chest. Sure it was still covered in ink from the wrong answers, but that 63 on top was beautiful!

Pyxi beamed as it came time to write their thoughts on the beach. They had so much fun that they couldn't wait to ask their mother to go again.
My favorite thing about the beach were the animals! I saw some cute little crabs scuttling around the beach and I saw a starfish in a little pond thing filled with rocks and barnacles. But I really liked how it seemed to go on forever. I wish I could have gone swimming, but I'm worried about what too much salt water would do to my leaves.

Taffy wasn't too keen on the whole idea of going to the beach. People could wander off.. namely her. The little hybrid was caught though before she got too far and now, back at school, it was time to write. She wasn't one to write much, but she had to smile just a hint at what she was about to write.
I liked going to the beach. The sand was warm and the water was cool. I also thought it was funny when a kid had a crab latch onto their sweater and made them cry. The teacher took care of it, but it was funny while it lasted!

The little naga shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She didn't have the best time at the beach, so she wasn't quite sure what to write about at first. But she had to get it done. She set her pencil to the paper and began.
I liked the beach. The sand reminded me of my old home, but it wasn't my favorite part. My favorite part of the day was when Mys. Grey finally got that crab off of me. I was really scared, so it was a relief to get it off. I just don't have much good luck. But thank you for taking us!

Chicory's wings flittered as she pondered her assignment. It wasn't a really hard one, but she wanted to write something that the teacher would like reading. Nothing too boring... The teacher needed to have some fun with these papers.
My favorite part of the beach was going out and playing with my friends. It was a lot of fun to get out of the classroom to see a new place. My mom packed me a really good lunch, though I wish my siblings came with us. I couldn't get over how warm the sunlight was, it seemed brighter there than at the school!

After such a fun outing at the beach, the neko was almost a little sad to return to normal classes. There was definitely nothing that would beat that field trip! As she slid into her seat and listened to their assignment, she was thrilled. Writing about how much fun the beach was? Amazing! How was she going to pick just one thing as he favorite though? Maybe this was going to be harder than she thought. Nefertiti nervously nibbled on her eraser, trying to think about what she could write.
'My favorite thing about the trip? It's really hard to pick just one thing, but if I had to pick just one. It would probably be all of the sand! It's just so much fun to play in and it feels so nice on your feet! Except when it's too hot! That's not very fun at all! It wasn't though, so that's what I liked the best! Playing in the sand!'

A written assignment? About the best part of their trip? Ugh. This wasn't going to be fun at all. The baphomet picked up their pencil and started scribbling down a response.
'I guess I liked the water the best? I'm not really sure. It just looked like the water went on for miles and miles, which is pretty neat. I accidentally got some of the water in my eyes, which wasn't so neat though. There were some pretty neat shells on the beach too. 'Geyser Eelborn Sorry if this gave you multiple notices, I had to edit something!

School was so unfair. One minute you're at a beautiful beach and there's absolutely no school work and the next...you were sitting in a stuffy room, in a dingy chair, asking to write things. Rasia leaned into her arm, smooshing her cheek and sighing loudly. This was stupid. Why couldn't just just go back to the beach instead of sitting here in the classroom?
'Obviously my favorite part of going on that trip was all the bathing suits I brought with me! I looked so good in all of them. It was so hard for me to choose which ones I'd bring with me, but in the end I think I made the right choices! I also really liked sun bathing, even though it dried my skin out quicker, I just felt like such a movie star when I was laying there with my sunglasses on!'

As nice as it had been to get away, Mitra was actually pretty happy to be back in the classroom. The trip had been amazing and she was so thrilled that she was able to see another part of the world that she hadn't seen before, but she was also really saddened. She had read all about oceans and the waves and the sounds seashells made...even though she was deaf she had still held a shell to her ear, hoping to hear something.
'My favorite thing about the trip was how beautiful and peaceful it all was! The waves moving back and forth and crashing onto the shore, it was so serene! I wish I could have heard the sound of the waves, but being able to watch them and play in the sand was enough for me.'

Samhain had to hide a smile; going out star gazing had to be the best transfer from temporary to full time teacher assignment ever. Samhain had always loved going out star gazing and when he was constantly out working when he was younger he would often spend nights calming down by going out to watch the stars. So of course he was totally on board with the assignment. Luckily he came with his own fur so it was an easy thing to transfer over to something a bit more substantial for the lack of temperature. He also brought a pair of binoculars. There were only so many telescopes after all and while he was waiting his turn he could use the binoculars. They weren’t the best but they did some times work. Laying a blanket out on the grass he quickly flopped down on it and started naming off all the constellations that he could find. There were even a couple shooting stars although he always caught the very end of them so it wasn’t long enough to try making a wish. Personally it was one of the best fieldtrips he had gone on.

Sound Lee had responded with indifference to the news that they would be visiting "the beach" the next week. He'd never seen a beach. He'd never seen the ocean--apparently it was big water you couldn't drink. He couldn't be less excited. The scenery on the bus ride was mildly interesting, but when the bus stopped and everyone got off, the only thing on his mind was finding someplace to curl up and nap. He could skive off, make up something about the beach--maybe that he liked to sleep there, that would do for his assignment--
But then he saw it.
It was...
...Well, it was not...
It was certainly...
It was...
...Wow.
Sound Lee didn't get any sleep on that field trip, not until the bus ride home. He was soaking wet, and he was vaguely afraid that Mys. Grey would never stop lecturing him. So he'd jumped in the water. Wasn't that what they were supposed to do? What was wrong with that? He'd wanted to commune with the ocean, dive into its depths, meet the fishies that lived in there. He wanted to experience it, and if he had to go in a little danger to do that, well, what was the harm in that?
When they got back to school, he stared off in the middle distance. He felt the waves still pulling at his legs, and he heard the ocean roaring in his ears. He hoped it never stopped. Doing either thing. The ocean.
My favorite thing about the beach, he finally wrote,
was everything.

UGH, a field trip? To the beach? The beach was hardly something that Aurabelle was looking forward to--they had been to the beach plenty of times in Above. Here in Below, it was likely to be less sunny--which was one of the better things about the beach--and there would be no boardwalk amusement park, which was the best thing about beaches in general. And they had homework. The teacher had practically ordered them to enjoy themselves! How dare she?! She couldn't boss Aura around, nosirree!
So Aura spent most of the day perched on a rock, poking inquisitive crabs and watching the teacher scold some dumb Bakeneko kid who kept trying to swim. It was obvious that the kid didn't know how, which just made it all the sillier. Aura took a lock of their own hair and chewed on it thoughtfully. They would have to contact that kid when they got home...they were pretty sure it was the kid from the festival.
When they got back to school, Aura did indeed keep an eye on the other kid--they were gazing off into space. Huh. Go figure. Aura turned back to their own paper and agonized over what to write. Finally, they went with, I liked the crabs. There were a lot of them with a lot of different shapes. Some of them tried to eat my toes. Crabs, I think, are very silly.

Midnightglow18 (Oh it's not based off test scores??) It is based on your test score. It's just that the grading system whereby a 50% is a failing grade is not the grading system being used in this class.
