Quote: A-trekking through the woods I go! Troll:Aconan Eyulft Inventory: Super Protein Snack Bars Night Vision Goggles Daywalker Spray Mushroom Snufflin' Gerbils Colourful Yarn Balls Location: Unknown Wilds Choice Picked: B Item Used: Daywalker Spray Mushroom Count: 12 Stamina: 7/10 It wasn't, Aconan would like to point out, that she was AFRAID of whatever was in that cave. Should it come down to it, she bet her and Loupsus could take own anything! It's just, when you were hunting large quarry, you usually did it with a pack, not just the two of you. And anyway, they were hunting for mushrooms, not meat. So that was why they went in the other direction, towards the creepy dead tree place. Aconan frowned. In truth, that looked not-so-great either. Just in case, she pulled the daywalker spray from her pack, ready to spray it in the face of any zombie that popped up. Loupsus whined - softly as to not alert the creature. He didn't like this place, and he wasn't sure it was safe for his pup. He stood almost over Aconan as she padded quietly (not silently, as much as she wished it to be) through the eerie dappled pattern on the forest floor. She tried to be as quiet as she could, but that was difficult in a forest setting. Still as much as she was being cautious, she was still scanning the floor for mushrooms, particularly under fallen trees.

Quote: Results for November 26-27:If you are traveling from the Unknown Wilds: A) You pass quietly by the creature’s den. Snuffling and a pair of bright, golden eyes watches you as you pass. Thankfully, the creature doesn’t seem to be hungry! Gain 2 mushrooms and lose 1 stamina. You are now located in the Arboreal Sanctuary. B) Escaping through the dead woods seemed immediately like the most straight-forward answer, and pays off with the plethora of fungus growing from old stumps. However, as you progress, the eeriness of the woods begins to get to you. A branch snaps behind you and you take off, finally escaping at the loss of some stamina. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now in the Rot Fields. Item Results: If you used the bag of yarn, a mewl emerges from within the creature’s cave. The pair of golden eyes is joined by two other pairs, and soon two enormous furbeasts hop playfully out of their den and distract themselves with the yarn. You take this opportunity to scoop up some extra mushrooms and hoof it out of there! Gain 3 mushrooms. If you used the snack bars, you get close to the cave and toss them in. There’s the crinkling of the wrapper and some noshing sounds, but it doesn’t seem that the creatures are satisfied with their meal and peek out at you expecting more. Time to go! Gain 2 mushrooms. If you used the daywalker spray, you end up spritzing the cave entrance in the noxious stuff. Needless to say, this angers the beasts. In the resulting chase you lose track of 2 mushrooms.
If you are traveling from the Overgrown Valley: A) Cutting through the vibrant flowers, a pleasant aroma wafts through the air. It’s practically a wonderland as you part a veil of lacey lichen and head deep into the lush realm within. It’s a fairly long walk to get out of the valley, but it’s worth it. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located in the Arboreal Sanctuary. B) As you walk straight through the valley, you see the growth begin to recede. Traveling becomes manageable at first, and then a bit lonely as the trees start to lose their moss, leaves and budding flowers and curl up. Before you know it, the edge of the valley opens up into a vast, lifeless field. You gain 2 mushrooms and lose 1 stamina. You are now located in the Rot Fields. Item Results: If you used the bowie knife, your passage in the valley is easy to hack through. Some of the thicker vegetation is easy to pick away at and reveals some nice mushrooms as well. Gain 2 mushrooms. If you used the fishing rod, you end up with a tangled mess in the wild growths! It wasn’t a great idea to bring the rod on a mushroom hunting expedition, you think. However, spending time in the wilds and untangling your fishing line from the branches gives you a nice break from your trek. Gain 1 mushroom and 1 stamina. If you used the dynamite, a chain reaction of explosives causes your way to be barred and an enormous, ancient tree to come nearly crashing down on you. It’s tough to see now in the valley, and you lose 2 mushrooms in the process.
If you are traveling from the Treacherous Trench: A) Rushing away from the boulder, you seek refuge in the mountainside. In your luck, you find a cavern that appears to be a run-off from the elements – moist and covered in algae and lichen. You’re safe and in a mushroom haven! You gain 2 mushrooms and lose 1 stamina. You are located in the Fungal Cave. B) You attempt to retreat uphill, playing a bit of “dodge rock” as you do. Beaten, bruised and exhausted, you finally make it uphill and reap the rewards of some very hardy fungi in the cold altitude. Brr! You gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located in the Frosty Hills. Item Results: If you used the yarn balls, the tangles of the yarn are your downfall. They trip you up in your escape and you lose 2 mushrooms for your trouble. Curse you yarn balls!! If you used the dynamite, you blow your way out of there! You luckily manage to redirect the boulder just enough to buy yourself plenty of time to collect mushrooms. Gain 2 mushrooms. If you used the potato sack , you hop in it and fall onto your rump. The slick surface of the trench means that you’re essentially riding down an awesome super slide, and you escape in style. Gain 3 mushrooms.
If you are traveling from the Loamy Foothills: A) Following the signs of the creatures leads you to a damp, dark cave in a nook of the mountain. You look around and notice the (unfortunately) territorial horned beasts staring right at you. You’ll have to deal with them before you can get into the cave and collect your prize. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located in the Fungal Cave. B) Climbing the steep cliffs yields an arctic atmosphere. The chill in your throat begins to expand throughout your body as you ascend, so it’s fortunate that your ascent is short. Coming to a clifftop you spot some hills nearby and make for them. Gain 2 mushrooms and lose 1 stamina. You are now located in the Frosty Hills. Item Results: If you used the City Slicker’s Field Guide to Farmland, you’re able to identify some great truffling spots under the temperate loam – some that other leytrolls may not even be aware of! Gain 3 mushrooms. If you used the mushroom snufflin’ gerbils, the critters seem at home in the rolling, open plains. They immediately begin to burrow in the soft ground, and sticking your hands into their tunnels you find some tasty truffles. Gain 2 mushrooms. If you used the night vision goggles, an otherwise clear view of the hills is distorted and obscured by the technology of your headgear. You lose your balance and end up rolling down the hill, losing 2 mushrooms in the process.
Choice for November 29th-30th (FINAL CHOICE!): If your location is the Arboreal Sanctuary: You’ve made it to a beautiful and relatively untraveled natural clearing in the middle of the forest. Birdsong and the occasional guttural snort can be heard in the distance, and tiny flowers dot the forest floor. It’s something out of a wiggler’s picture book! You find 7 mushrooms here.
This is your final destination, given the time of night. You don’t have time to move on, but you can chose to use up to TWO items in this location. The results may net you some extra loot, but there is also a risk of loss! Choose wisely.
If your location is the Rot Fields: What used to be a running river has turned into a rancid, still pond, covered in flies. This appears to be the final resting spot for many an Alternian fauna, and many carnivorous plants have taken root. Broken down and blackened trees contrast with sun-bleached bones, making the soiled ground a sorry memorial. You find 10 mushrooms here.
This is your final destination, given the time of night. You don’t have time to move on, but you can chose to use up to TWO items in this location. The results may net you some extra loot, but there is also a risk of loss! Choose wisely.
If your location is the Fungal Cave: This drippy cave has been nestled into the cave by previous explosions, and a few hornbeasts have made a home of it. The sunlight streaming from cracks in the ceiling and the entrance as well as the moisture have made it an interesting ecosystem, and you marvel at the bioluminescent insects and plants that line the cave floors and walls. You find 8 mushrooms here.
This is your final destination, given the time of night. You don’t have time to move on, but you can chose to use up to TWO items in this location. The results may net you some extra loot, but there is also a risk of loss! Choose wisely.
If your location is the Frosty Hills: A cold, crunchy permafrost makes each of your steps satisfying as you progress through the hills. Some arctic trees obscure a monstrous white form, partially camouflaged amongst the frost – the weather isn’t quite intense to give it its full effect. It stands on its hind legs and peers at you from behind an enormous pine tree, beady black eyes examining your next move. You find 6 mushrooms here.
This is your final destination, given the time of night. You don’t have time to move on, but you can chose to use up to TWO items in this location. The results may net you some extra loot, but there is also a risk of loss! Choose wisely.
The final results will be posted on December 1st.

Quote: How long can I hang on? Woah!Dice prompt: Naturally, the producers of the event have you pinned for a winner. They sit you on the most volatile woolbeast of them all, the Gorebaiter, and before you even realize it the gate opens and you’re on a wild ride. Win or lose, you still end up with a face-full of hay and a full thrashing. But do you come up on top? Sitting quite content in her seat, Malice casually observed a piece of caramelized popcorn between her fingers. Amazing, really, how something so simple brought such delight to one's night. Although what really brought her happiness was the amusement that joined her treat. One thing the blueblood enjoyed almost as much as getting in a tussle herself was watching others hash it out. In this case, it was pathetically inept trolls mounting a woolbeast and be thrashed around then ultimately tossed into filth and utter humiliation. Now, this was entertainment. After she popped the sugary snack in her mouth, she watched on as some poor sap hurled straight into the mud, skipping and flipping across, then coming to a halt into a pile of hay. Malice cackled. Good s**t.
A large shadow cast over her and half the stadium, loud flapping sounding overhead. Malice fidgeted in her seat, uncomfortable and seething. Of course he would be here making his presence known. While she had come to the festival on her own accord, her lusus just couldn't let her be. Others might have mistaken it as a protective demeanor for his charge, but she knew otherwise. No, he just wanted to rile her up. And it usually worked. The unpredictability and aggressiveness of the winged reptilian beast unnerved her greatly. He'd probably show up any time now. She scowled up at the sky. "a*****e."
After dragging off that limp troll out of the arena, a rodeo juggalo came forth to the center. "We got ourselves a lil' bit of a challenge fer those lookin' to test their strength! Step right up if ya wanna go on a wild ride! Be warned, Gorebaiter's a tricky one!" Malice leaned back in her seat, chewing slowly. As she ran her tongue along her teeth in search for stray caramel, she considered.
As assumed, Dragondad's large head appeared behind her, snorting air into her hair. Foul smelling drool dripped down her neck. Unflinching, Malice rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, shifting one leg over the other. "Tch. Can't I just enjoy myself?" She asked, masking the sincerity of the question with a sardonic edge. Looming beside her, she could sense his gigantic, toothy grin. There was a strange wheeze of laughter. Eyes narrowing, Malice refused to meet her lusus' condescending gaze. So, he wanted her to join in on taking 'Gorebaiter' for a ride, yet his drawled tone suggested she was too much of a coward.
"What is that supposed to mean." She inquired icily, but the blue blood flowing in her veins grew hotter with every second ticking by. How dare he suggest such a thing. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, that would be it. And he knew it. He knew what he was doing, as did she. Even so, the botheration still flustered her. Of course there was his predictable snickering in her spongeclots, but the pressure of a large claw settling on her shoulder startled her. Paralyzed, Malice attempted to disregard her lusus' continuous taunting and pushing. Her nose wrinkled. Finally, she shrugged him off, standing. "FINE."
Jumping over the wall, she landed on her feet with ease, rising and straightening her back into a confident posture. She'll take the challenge. "Gooorebaiter?" Malice echoed with raised brows, top lip curling in a smirk. The crowd hushed. "Sounds like a formidable opponent!" The rodeo juggalo also raised their brows, acknowledging the blueblood's presence. Was that a really tall child or a really short teen? "Ya sure ya don't wanna wait 'til we got Ol' Grubbers out for ya, lil lady?"
"Pft! No. Piece of grubloaf." Rolling each shoulder, Malice gave the rodeo juggalo a smug grin. "I'll be getting the highest score, just you watch." Radiating with confidence, Malice swaggered straight towards the closed off gate where her temporary rival stood contained, waiting. She cracked her knuckles. Excellent.
"Just you and me, buddy ol' pal. Let's show each other a good time?" Malice jeered, leaning against the gate in front of the beast. Clearly agitated, the woolbeast known as Gorebaiter snorted loudly, stomping their hoof. "Hn! Thought so." Pulling herself over the gate, Malice situated on the back of the volatile woolbeast. Already, it started to become restless. Sending a pointed look to her lusus, her grip tightened.
'See? Look, I can do it.'
Suddenly, the gate slammed opened and they lurched forward. The beast bucked and ricocheted between the walls of the arena, throwing Malice around like a rag doll. Despite holding on with as much strength as she could muster, the blueblood rocked hard, feeling her hands slipping. "s**t, s**t, s**t!" Even with the crowd hootin' and hollering, she focused on staying on the beast, get the best score. The best. In one swift movement, Gorebaiter halted in its tracks, dust clouding everywhere. "RrrrrrrRRRRRRAAAAGGGGH!" Sneering down the beast with flared nostrils and brimming with contempt, Malice wiped the mud from her face. She flicked the residue to the ground, baring her pointed teeth. She needed to blame someone, anything. "YOU! How dare you! You worthless- PUH- peeeeuuuuuuutrid- pthth-" Spit flying, Malice couldn't rid the earthy taste and hay out her mouth. "- poor excuse of an animal! I should pulverize you into minced meat!" Blue in the face, she stalked forward for the seemingly ready to charge woolbeast. Before she could reach it, however, a shadow cast over the area. Large talons latched on to her, and her feet lifted from the ground.
"LET. ME. GO!" Malice kicked and screamed, despite being hauled off into the sky. Dragondad simply ignored his troll's tantrum. In a small field a little ways from the festival, the child was dropped at a fairly high distance, descending down hard onto a patch of dying grass.
"H-HEY!" Scrambling to her feet weakly, her knees wobbled and threatened to buckle, but she tried to stand tall regardless. A rush of rancid breath blew past Malice, bangs flying past her face. Standing her ground, she equaled his snarling face in close proximity with her fists balled up, the knuckles white. For a few moments, it was a stand off. A staring contest. Dragondad snorted. Putting herself in danger? He told her to! Then, in a swift motion, she was shoved down in a sitting position. She opened her mouth to counter, but another deep chested growl kept her silent. Malice turned her cheek, glowering towards the distance. "Whatever."

Quote: Look at my amazing float! Let's get in the parade! Sunnet stood nervously in the middle of his pie shaped float. They hadn’t hit the big throngs of crowds yet and he had some time to admire his work before really getting started. Honestly, this was way more overwhelming than he could have imagined. He could feel the weight of what was about to happen in his chest and the inner critic start to attack his thinkpan. The float he had decided on was supposed to be weird, but cohesive and thought provoking. It merged together a handful of the talents he knew of from other trolls. At the top of the float where different shaped letters, specifically made into things of other talents. One letter was shaped like a coffee pot, another was a stick with a plate and yet another was shaped like a chair. All of the words in different shapes read: What can you do? Just below this, near the back half of the float was a black instrument with a musical staff and notes flowing from it stabilizing the words as the staff connected to a rocket ship on the other end of the float. The rocket ship was cartoonishly out of proportion and had some royal colors meant to indicate military talents or skills. This was attached to the base of the float by an impressive fiery explosion. The base of the float was an easily recognizable slice of green colored pie, with a golden crust. Sunnet’s lusus sat in the middle of the pie, nine snake tails wiggling around the monkey creature. He was standing in as the whipped cream atop the pie since their budget would not allow them to get that made and Sunnet so wanted to include his lusus, so it was a win/win in the end. On the sides of the pie were colorfully decorated plates. Each one had a different design, ranging from flowers to vegetables and whatever else might go on a plate. Between each plate was a banner that read: Use your skills! Sunnet felt his heart pound as the precession rounded down the street. This was it, no turning back now, no second guessing and no jumping ship. Pretty soon they reached a group of trolls there to see the beginning of the parade. With a deep, shaky breath Sun brought the instrument to his lips began to play the song he had written just for this day. His notes were nervous and shaky, to be sure. Hopefully this didn’t mark him as a target for scrutiny later. the rough idea for all you humans out there.

Quote: Look at my amazing float! Let's get in the parade!
NOT A REAL ENTRY, JUST FOR FUN Right now was not exactly Prepho's favorite time of year. The shift from summer to autumn to winter was always so cold and he'd always been sensitive to those kinds of details. But at least he always had one thing to look forward to in order to get through the changing of the seasons- the Harvest Parade! Prepho attended the Jubilee every year in order to promote and sell his mochi and finally he'd managed to snag a spot in the parade he loved to watch. Sure it was at the back of the line where all the other cheaper entries were but hey, publicity was publicity. He could see glamorous floats in the distance with much more than he could afford and Prepho's ego shrunk at the sight. Was his too bland or boring in comparison? But he'd already paid for a spot, he couldn't back out now. The yellowblood was too practical to let his pride get in the way of this.
There was still some time before it was his turn to go and Prepho looked over the sturdiness of his float once more. It would not make a good impression on NummCorp for his wagon to burst into pieces once it hit a rock in the road! He'd selected his finest shiny black wagon with a sleek wooden unit fitted inside it with several shelves to hold his wares. Tall stalks of bamboo shot up from the sides of it with decorative paper orbs hanging off of them in the colors of the moons. He hadn't been able to put lights in them like he'd wished due to budgeting but hopefully the audience would understand. A sign advertising his business, Prep Works. Maybe it wasn't the flashiest float but he was proud of building it all with his own two hands. Living by his own means meant everything to him.
"Hey, entry twenty four, you're up!" An adult with a clipboard motioned at him with swirling fingers, telling him to hurry up. They had to keep the flow of this thing moving.
'I just hope I made enough.' He wasn't prepared for the sight of all the smiling and cheering faces as he pulled his wagon to the starting line. With a nervous tension in his chest, Prepho took a deep breath and concentrated on looking not-petrified. He wanted this business to succeed!
"Thanks for coming out tonight!" His voice came out a little shrill, definitely nervous, but all it took was a lazy toss of the first mochi into the crowd for the audience to visibly brighten at the sight of him coming. Hamming it up a little, the yellowblood pretended to wind up a pitch before lobbing a second one into a packed group.
Gog, this was electrifying!

Quote: I'm feeling in a thoughtful mood. Let's ruminate!
NOT A REAL ENTRY, JUST FOR FUN A cool breeze swept down the path, cold and sudden. It appeared to be chiding her for dressing for looks rather than comfort.
But she'd had to dress the part in order to properly display and sell her wares. They didn't quite fit the theme of this festival, with it being about the harvest and all, but any opportunity to showcase her work was fine by her. Oxiang didn't do this to keep her treasures locked away at home. No, she wanted everyone to see her dolls.
A table of traditionally crafted, painstakingly painted, and impeccably dressed dolls sat at the end of the row of booths, a late addition to the fairground. She technically didn't have a license to be here but thanks to her purple blood, no one wanted to question her too harshly about it. Unfortunately no one seemed to want to come over at all. Was her display so impressive that it was intimidating? If so, she felt a little bad but also proud. She wanted her dolls to be a luxury, a trophy for others.
She wanted them to glitter and shine like the very moons in the sky!
Those precious moons represented all that she wanted to be. The cheap colored lights of the festival were enticing, but they lacked the presence and power that moonlight held. The glory. The moons had realized their beauty and decided to share it with everyone, gracing Alternia with their auras.
She had also been born with a beautiful face and beautiful blood so it was her duty to go forth and show everyone an ideal to aspire to, the way the moons had shown her. She would sell them small little models of beauty, for the trolls who otherwise had none. Or for the trolls with taste who knew what elegance and sophistication meant!
'Ah, there's one now.' A redblood appeared to be peeking her way, a young boy with curious eyes. He seemed astounded by the gleaming props of golden branches she'd used to dress up her table. It wasn't hard to follow the path of his eyes and watch as he took in each doll one at a time. These were the moments she loved best, seeing trolls who had not known culture take in her dolls. His whole posture changed, straightening up and staring at something he did not understand yet. He would itch to buy one to take home and study, to have more time to figure out what it was telling him he was missing. Unfortunately, he wouldn't have enough beetles to buy one, she could tell from the clothes he was wearing, but he'd be back again one day (hopefully in something a little dressier.)
She'd be waiting.

NOT A REAL ENTRY, JUST FOR FUN "Scuse me sir, mind answering a few questions?" A young girl paced up and down the main road of the festival with a camera crew close behind. They were here to cover the event as part of an entertainment channel but the reporter had bailed at the last minute. This had been her chance to finally get on screen. Croisan had grabbed hold of instantly!
"Are you enjoying the Jubilee so far? Have you been here before?" The young purpleblood beamed at her interviewee with enthusiasm, carefully practiced. She'd longed to be a food reporter since forever. To get to travel and see the culture spread throughout Alternia, sample the foods and get to know the people. The man responded with a nervous almost sheepish smile. Not everyone was as excited to be in front of the camera as she was.
"Yeah, me and my moirail come together every year. I love celebrating the harvest and getting fresh produce straight from the farms. I just like the games a lot." She supposed his moirail had a point, it was harder to get stuff fresh if you lived in one of the larger cities. This was an inconvenience Croisan had negated simply through throwing enough beetles around. But not everyone could afford such luxuries. It was a pity really.
"The games? Which one in particular?" Personally she was less interested in this topic but did her best to cover it up with some acting. She wanted to ask what they did with the crops, what kinds of spices they added to the punkins but it all seemed like something better suited to asking his moirail who did not seem to be with him currrently. Ugh, how annoying!
"Oh y'know, like the wrestling one! I set a record though someone's already beaten it." He looked rather proud of himself before giving the girl a curious look, "How are you enjoying it? Got a favorite part?"
The question threw Croisan off guard. She hadn't been expecting anyone to ask her something! She was the field reporter here! But maybe it'd make for a good sign off to her segment.
"My favorite part of the Jubilee is the community pot. Getting to taste everyone's feelings and goodwill fills me with gratitude. And it tastes good too!" The purpleblood gave a sincere smile to the lens, letting her facade down for just a moment, before the wall came back up and she shook the interviewee's hand.
Soon they'd be offering a taste of that pot and she was itching to be there first in line with her crew, and camera, right behind her.
