Ran grinned slightly thinking that he was about to have a sparring match with Ben but just before they could begin. Ben's phone would suddenly start playing some musical instrument. Ran sighed under his breath and stepped back to allow Ben some privacy. He wondered which instrument it was as Ben read his text message. Assuming his companion was being summoned Ran wandered off a little to practice kido on his own. Their was plenty that he wanted to learn.
Just as soon as he agreed to the spar Ben would hear his stepmoms ringtone on his phone. It was actually a recording of her playing her violin for Olly. Ben backed away from Ran a little muttering an apology as he pulled the phone out of his pocket. After reading the message he apologizes to Ran and leaves the academy. He would come back later and train some more another day. Maybe he could train with his dad or stepmother when the time came again though he would much rather train alone.

Ranmaru was still in the academy training, attempting to learn all of the available skills. He had lost track of how many he wanted to learn and how many he had already learned. But that was alright. Ran would just keep training for as long as he could. Though maybe he should try to learn his shikai and bankai."Teehee not yet!"Ran scowls down at his zanpakuto."Maybe I will teach you after you learn some hadou."The blade taunts him. Ran shakes his head and starts practicing some of the skills that he had recently picked up. Eventually he had to get his zanpakuto to teach him shikai and bankai but for now back to training. After a few minutes Ran went to the room where they kept the exercise machines and randomly picked one to train on. He picked one of the treadmills that was currently not being used. This one was cool he thought as he started to run it could read your heart rate, Speed, distance of travel, spiritual power, and it even had lasers. LASERS Oops Ranmaru had picked one of the ones that Krieos and Ikasu and he had worked on the year before. Ran yelped as the first laser hit him in the arm. He quickly dodged the second laser while doing his best to stay on the treadmill. There seemed to be four or five lasers that would randomly shoot at Ran as he ran. Every now and then Ran would cry out in pain as one of the lasers hit their mark. It was not really that painful but still Ranmaru did not like getting hit. So he tried harder to dodge each shot and reach the goal he had placed when setting up the machine. The closer he got to his goal the more often the lasers fired. It soon got to the point that Ran was ready to give up or break the treadmill. But he gamely carried on. After nearly an hour of running he stopped to catch his breath. And noticed several eleventh division members using a couple other treadmills that he and his relatives had "fixed" Ran laughed and walked off to try another exercise machine.

Ran was starting to get tired of training. It was beginning to seem like that was all he ever did. Even his Zanpakuto seemed to be getting bored of all this training. Maybe it was time he returned to the twelfth division headquarters and experimented with something. Or went and roamed the rukongai. He was not sure what he wanted to do but it was about time for a break. He steps outside just as a hellbutterfly flies up to him. The rukongai was under attack and everyone was summoned. Ran frowns as he ponders his actions then takes a deep breath and starts running for the northern rukongai. As a seated officer he had to follow orders.

Loki enters the academy and takes in his surroundings. It looks like a combination of traditional and modern which he finds suited to his expectations. He looks around for the healing class room. Until his spells are approved for use within the Soul Society they are restricted from use during service. The idea of learning the local spells appeals to him for this reason and for the idea of expanding his portfolio. Upon finding it he finds that there is no active course at the moment so he pops open his text book and does some self study. As he is already an officer, he is given the freedom to do this much - for which is he is grateful. He hopes that his beautiful bride and vice captain will join him in some training today. The previous day's efforts spent healing her nephew had been draining and he took the rest of the day off. Today he got up early and headed here before he needs to report to work. There is a feeling of unease in him, but he dismisses it as him needing to get these under his belt. For the time being he is unaware of the attacks going on out in the rukongai. The attacks are too distant and the building too well insulated, he continues his studies and note making. Besides, even if that were true, he would not be needed until after the combat is over, given the moratorium on Division Four joining the fray. He keeps his attention on the lesson at hand, determined to master at least one decent healing spell. While he is focused on his training, he hopes that El will join him there soon. After reading the introductory chapter he thumbs through the list of kidou known as chiyudo to help him select a healing skill that could be of use to him. Deciding to start from the beginning he picks the first one, chiyudo number one, reasoning that a basic first aid skill is a good basis and could help him understand the rest of the magics presented here within.
Elninio was on her way to the academy with Ben and Olly when she noticed the smoke in the Northern rukongai. She stops and ponders her options. Then finally comes to a decision and turns to Ben. El was still worn out from tending to her nephew the day before. She hoped with some training that she would regain some of her strength from healing her nephew as well as regain some more of the strength she had before the time she went missing. El has only told those who needed to know about what happened to her. "Ben go see what you can do in the northern rukongai. Be careful though I think I sense hollows in the west and I see a cloud of hell butterflies." El was not sure if she was doing the right thing in sending the teen out but she was certain that their was also a captain in that area. Once she recovered she would join in even if only to heal the wounded. Which meant relearning all of her old skills and maybe some new ones. "I will come after I have recovered from my last major healing." El then watches the lad run off, Loki may not like that she sent the boy but he was a seated officer and Shinigami younger than him had been in battle before.
El sighs then enters the academy. She does not bother heading to any of the classrooms but heads straight to the library to get a current textbook or scroll, which ever was available on chiyudo. As a healer she should begin there then move on to other skills. She would have to learn fast so that she could go help out with the hollows or restore the rukongai. It bothered her some that she could no longer perform the kido that she once could. But this time should be easier than last time since she was relearning them right.
Once at her destination she sets Olly down next to Loki and kisses both on top of the head. And walks off to grab the book or scroll. After a minute or two she returns to sit next to her husband fully planning to leave once she had a few kido reclaimed. Maybe one or two of each type as well as flash step. While Chiyudo number one Choryoku Kaiho would be the fastest and easiest it was probably not the best one to learn right now she would most likely need one stronger. Maybe Chiyudo number twenty Kessen was the one that she needed to learn or actually relearn still El checked the others available just to be certain. There were a couple of others available but El decides to go for the last and strongest of them it was the only one that only the captain and vice captain of her division could learn it was Chiyudo number eighty one: Shirohitsigi El nods to herself and moves away from her son and husband since they could not learn it.

"Good to see you, Elskamin," Loki says, only looking up at her long enough to give her an affectionate greeting. He reaches into his bag and hands Olly a toy and returns to his book. "War has come to this land ..." he comments. "While I would relish throwing myself in combat and bring glory to my new homeland ..." he says softly to his bride. There is a grim expression on his face. "However, with my lack of anything of use combined with the moratorium on our division joining in the fighting ... I best master these healing arts if I am to be of any use. They still will not allow me to use my powers while on duty. My spells are still under review ... even your nephew refuses to push to accelerate the process. Though, I respect him for that level of integrity. It would be a terrible thing for a judge to invoke nepotism." He sighs and continues on to the next chiyudo on the list. "The local magics are useful, at least. I hope that I can prove worthy of my commission in the end. As soon as we have recovered from yesterday's intense healing session and I get enough useful skills done ... I don't know, I'll wait for your orders since it would be official business." He lays his hand on top of hers without looking up. Feeling her hand raises his spirits which in turn helps give him the energy to do this task.
"Good to see you too Watashi no ai" El says smiling at Loki "I sent Ben to help out in the rukongai. It should be a good experience for him though I do hope he avoids the stronger hollows. Once I have reclaimed some of my old skill I will go and help out as well. Learn some hadou, bakudo. and bougyoudo as well. Just in case we need to fight." El grins at Olly who was playing with a toy that Loki gave him. The little one seemed to be having fun with the toy. She should probably get him some more toys soon. "You will get to use some of them if not all of them eventually my dear just be patient.." She says before grabbing the book on Chiyudo one more time. El studies a random kido in it debating whether or not to learn multiple kido in it or just the one for vice captains. Not only did she need to learn all of these kido again but she had to relearn her shinkai and bankai as well as any other skills that she learned existed. With a sad smile El realized that she was copying her twin brother. Who had to learn everything he even tried to come up with some of his own at one point. El shakes off the sorrow suddenly brought on by thinking of Flaggar. The Vice Captain continues to study as she walks around the room staying close to Loki for the moment.
After several minutes pass El walks out of the room and down the hall to where their are some healing dummies deciding that she will practice Chiyudo number eighty one Shirohitsigi. She had one known a kido that was named black coffin and now here she was learning white coffin. El smirks at the thought. Maybe she would learn that skill if it were available to her. El walks over to one of the dummies and looks at the book again then back at her target "Nendo no ningyō, Furuete tsukareta. Taiyō ga anata no kurushimi no namida o kawakashimasu. Kyō no inkan! Chiyudo #81 Shirohitsigi" She then watches a white box partially form around the target before breaking. El shakes her head and looks back into the book for a second"Maybe you should try with something weaker first."El hears in her head. El jumps then laughs at herself. "Kōri no hana! I have not heard your voice in so long." El says happily."I know we have been to weak. Do not worry we will reclaim what we once had. Once this training is over and the hollows are dealt with I will reteach you Reitō shinzō."Elninio nods and switching tactics returns to where Loki and Olly are to study the first chiyudo. It was nice to hear her old zanpakuto's voice. "Just down the hall a little ways is a room where you can practice the skills you are trying to learn Watashi no ai. When you are ready I can show you where it is or you can find it yourself while I stay with Olly." El says before sitting down.

"Well, he's old enough for a raid, so he's old enough to defend from raiders. He's strong and skilled. We made sure of that. We'll just have to trust him to be smart out there," he replies solemnly when she says where she sent Ben. "I made sure that Ben knows more than his magics. He has some good fighting skills under his belt." After El leaves for a while, he focuses on memorizing the next spell. Each one he writes the name of on his left arm. Loki smiles up at her when she returns from healing practice. "Ah, good idea, Elskamin. The practicum is a standard where I come from as well." He gently pets Olly's young head and chuckles softly as he attempts to cram a square peg into the triangle hole. "So close, Olly. Try a different hole," he says gently and then chuckles when the boy turns the ball shaped puzzle toy and attempts to cram it into the oval and then the circle. "Keep trying, Olly, you'll get it eventually." He stands up and hugs El. "Alright, I'll go. When the time comes for both of us to go, I think that the best place to keep Olly is here. It is well defended."
Elninio hugs Loki as he goes to leave the room then sits beside Olly and watches as he plays with his puzzle toy. After a few minutes she pulls out her violin from her doctors bag and begins to play it. She does this for a while not playing any particular song. After about twenty minutes or so she puts away the violin and returns to looking at the chiyudo book debating which skill to try for before trying white coffin again. Several minutes go by and she notices a bruise on Olly's arm. El smiles slightly thinking that it was most likely acquired while playing back at Nakamura and Hotarubi Castle with Mimi and Ben. Though Ben did not say anything about Olly getting hurt. "Olly come here a second." El says scooping him up for a closer look at he bruise. And then decides to take advantage of her sons mild injury and heal it. She channels healing kidou into her palms while rubbing them together. Watching as they begin to glow green begins to massage the bruise on his arm "Yawarakaku fureru, Tamashī o yawarageru! Chiyudo #1 Choryoku Kaiho!" She whispers and watches the bruise fade away. Olly of course giggles then goes back to playing with his toy. El just shakes her head slightly."This one may be destined for division eleven."Her zanpakuto mutters. El found herself wondering about that then shrugs. Her twin brother had been a member of division eleven at one time. El then grabs the book again and pursues it one more time. Before getting up and putting it away. She then returns to check on Olly who had grown bored of the toy and was digging another toy out of dads bag. El smirks as he begins to play with the new toy and walks off again to grab another book. This one was on bougyoudo. Supportive kido were as important for members of fourth to learn as well as chiyudo. At least in El's opinion. But she does not start reading it quite yet. She closed her eyes and focused on the memory of the last time she used Chiyudo number twenty: Kessen on a patient. He had been part of a team that was suppose to be out on patrol. Well he and his two companions add gone to a bar in the outer rukongai and gotten into a fight with some locals. El had not felt bad for the idiots. And was tempted to not heal them but let them heal the slow way. Unfortunately her brother Tenpi had other plans. Yep the idiot had been a member of the Hi clan as well as a Shinigami. El opens her eyes to check on Olly then closes them again to try and remember another of the healing spells. Chiyudo #46: Seisei Mizu and Chiyudo #67: Kyōretsuna Hito she could not quite remember as clearly. Maybe she had never learned then. Or had not used them as often as the other two spells. When she opens her eyes again she realizes that Olly was now using her lap as a pillow, and was taking a nap. Maybe he thought Mama was napping and decided to join her. She smiled and petted the boy gently. She then leaned back to let the child sleep. And wondered how Loki was doing with his training in the practice room. And if she should move on to bougyoudo or go practice her chiyudo one more time first. Elninio smiled as she felt a little more of her power return. For a while El listen to Olly's gentle snores and wished for a child. Another to raise from birth. And not have stolen from her or was born by someone else. After a bit she pushed the thoughts away. To focus on the here and now."Silly girl"El smirked as she heard her swords voice but chose not to respond.

Loki smiles at her as he returns. "You're right, those medical dummies are perfect for practice. Not as good as the real thing, but you and I will be called to heal soon. I hope that we can get this done before we are truly needed." He picks up Olly and blows bubbles on his tummy to distract him while he checks the toddler's pull up. "Whew, you need a potty break. I'll be right back and get him changed. I can't wait until we're past this stage with him." It is not long before he returns with a freshly diapered Olly who is also in a different outfit - overalls and a clean shirt. As he sets him down on an arm chair near El he comments, "The little rascal decided that he wanted to be a nudist. Dunked his clothes into the toilet. Crawled under a stall that somebody was already in. I think that if the guy wasn't laughing so hard, I would have had my head plastered to the wall by that division eleven member." He shakes his head and hands Olly his stuffed bear and blanket. "Well, I have no idea what will come of this, Dúlla, but I overheard some of the people who have suddenly decided to enter in this academy. It's getting bad out there. I'm going to finish up some basic bare bones training and then head to the hospital. That is, unless you have a different idea."
Elninio patted Olly as she began to read from the books on bougyoudo. Unlike her slip with Chiyudo she was not going to learn all of them now."Right! we will see about that Lady Elninio."El hears Kōri no hana comment snidely. She smirks "Kori I do not have time to learn everything right now."But you will, we both know it.El smiles to herself she knew full well that she would learn all available skills. "Yes but not all at Once Kōri I have other duties too." She needed to remember the kido that allowed you to manifest your zanpakuto spirit. She never really did care for talking to thin air. She would prefer to talk to people face to face. Though talking on the phone was not a problem usually. Olly woke from his nap as he heard Loki return and prepares to pounce only to get scooped up. Elninio snickers as Loki takes the boy on a potty break. She returns to reading the book trying to pick out a couple supportive kido from the seven or so that were available to her. She shakes her head at the toddlers antics while in her head Kōri no hana was dying from laughing so hard. "That works Shin'ainaru-kun e!" El says glancing back at the book trying to narrow down the list of kido. Maybe it would be better if he went to the hospital while she went out to the rukongai to work. Ryukin, Deband, Double Incantation, and Spirit Materialization would be good. She was on the fence with Sacrificial Fire. While Eye of the Sparrow and Incantation Bypass could wait. Well maybe Spirit Materialization could wait."NO Spirit Materialization is a must!"El grins and lays the book down to study Loki a moment and smiles. "Kōri no hana is insistent that I learn everything." El says to him teasing her blade. Who huffs and sulks. El grins It was nice to have her old companion back. Now to regain her old skill. Maybe she would take a page out of Flaggars book and go learn some martial arts. They could be good when kido was not available or necessary. She definitely had to learn some fighting skills before facing a hollow. If she went to do so.

✦ After departing from the 5th Division barracks, Hibiki would eventually arrive at the training academy alongside Kreios as they had planned to before leaving. The sight of the academy brought back many memories for the Shinigami, remembering all her time spend learning and training in hopes of becoming a great soul reaper someday. However, as things stood currently, now wasn’t the time to be nostalgic. As they approached the academy, they would enter through the training ground, an area typically set aside of the use of practicing skills that could be contained indoors such as Hadou. Hibiki’s attention immediately fell upon on a cluster of people nervously whispering amongst themselves amidst the center of the ground. The hell butterflies that lingeried around the premise told her that they had already received the news about the attack in Rukongai. A frustrated sigh would come from the Shinigami as she witnessed their idling. “If you’re an academy student, go find your instructors and await further orders. If you are a soul reaper, you have orders to report to Northern Rukongai and rendezvous with your squad members. Soul Society is under attack, and we need all Shinigami on board right now. Do I make myself clear?” Her eyes would narrow at them at her last line. The group would stare at her blankly, maybe it had just been the initial shock of news of the commotion, but they would slowly get the idea. A few would try to test her authority but, the moment their eyes lingered downwards at caught sight of not only her own Zanpakuto, but a second one attached her other side, there would be no more questions asked. One by one, the group disappeared. Hibiki only hoping it to be where she had instructed but unfortunately, she didn’t have the time to babysit each and every one. Hibiki tsked after the final Shinigami scampered off, if this was really the future of the Gotei 13, there was still a lot of work to do. Even the newbies she they had gotten at the 2nd Division recently seemed to have a hard time taking initiative. But once again, she was getting too ahead of herself. “It’s a good thing we made a stop here, apparently some people can’t do what they’re told without hearing it a second time.” Hibiki would turn to her companion, her hands moving to her hips. “Should we continue to look for more tone-deaf recruits or should we start heading towards the damage ourselves?”

Loki settles down next to her and grabs the text book. That she dodged his statement has not escaped his notice. 'She's avoiding the subject. Perhaps she has some deciding to do. The captain has not sent out our orders yet, so maybe it is that. I will not bring it up again for a while,' he muses. He gently pets Olly's short, soft baby hair. So innocent. So unaware that adults have serious concerns. His biggest worry being whether or not he can reach that thing that his parents put out of reach or how he is going to get them to give him a cookie. "He's too pure. All of this innocence ..." His voice is gentle and quiet with a touch of wistfulness. "Still, I think he has a bright future." El seems to be quietly having a conversation with somebody his ears cannot hear. 'Must be trying to talk with her weapon.' His ear twitches toward her when she comments that her zanpakutou is encouraging her to learn all of the skills in this rather dense book. He grins broadly and gives her a peck on the cheek. "Well, why don't we see what we can learn before we get called to duty. Unless you have other ideas, Yndið mítt." He is fully supportive of her decision either way. She is truly inspiring and impressive to him. Sexism and old traditions are hard to rise up against, even with the Soul Society being more progressive these days. From what he had been told, she's been doing this for quite a while. She had even once risen to a judge position, before her disappearance and extended absence had her marked among the dead or having ditched her position. None had known what had happened nor what she had suffered. Fortunately when she had returned and was healed, the brass actually accepted her back. Unfortunately not as a judge. Those doors seem to be shut to members of the military these days. He hopes that she can take a captain position if that's what she wants some day.

El smiles over at Loki then looks down at the boy. Then sighs softly. "When you are finished here take Olly with you back to headquarters I will be going to the field." She was aware that the child would be underfoot but she was not to keen on leaving him here. Even with all of the teachers it would be to dangerous for a child. "Summon Hana from the lower ranks she is one of our servants after all. She can watch Olly while you work." El sets the book she is currently looking at down. There just seemed to be to many skills to learn and not enough time to learn them all. El looks over at Loki again and smiles at him. While he was working in headquarters she was going to go to the rukongai and help however she could. Even if it meant fighting the hollows. Elninio stands up to stretch then senses Hibiki enter the academy. She debates going to greet whoever entered but decides it might be best to let them focus on their own training as she focused on hers.
"Alright, Elskamin," he replies softly as he picks up the small child. "After I do that I am going to marshal the medical staff if the captain hasn't already done so and get the non essential staff assigned to support roles wherever necessary." He sighs and ponders as he looks at the book. "We can pick up on this later. It will not be forever that we have to deal with this." He gathers their belongings and gives her a kiss while Olly squirms. "El, my love, please be safe." With that he heads off to the Fourth Division.
