And back to Eterna City. It wasn’t that long ago that he’d flown here to do all those scans for Juliean now that he thought about it. Sliding off of Dova’s back, he set Noah down and took a gander around. This place was a definite change from the rocks and dirt of Oreburgh. He took a deep breath of the fresh air and started to move along once more to accomplish things. He was going to bust out these first few gyms as quickly as possible before he left for a different region. That made sense, right?

Once more he found the gym insignia and the gym. This time though, Lafayette decided to take a moment to lighten his load. He was certain that his team could handle this gym; it was a grass type and he had Micah for fire power. But he thought about it and considered that maybe for a moment he should make use of someone else. He had quite a few TMs to use as well and if he put them to use, he might have better choices to choose from, which really was smart.
Taking a seat at a bench, he fished out the TMs and stared hard a moment. He couldn’t read them – of course- and after a moment of frustrated thought, he unleashed Cheri to help him out. "Here Cheri. Can ya figure out who can learn these, mate?" He remarked, handing the discs and the case to the Espurr. She stared blankly a moment, looking between the items before staring back up at Lafayette. She seemed to comprehend the situation and nodded, setting to work as Lafayette unleashed his team so she could get the deed done.

Once Cheri had used up the TMs accordingly, he returned his crew save for her and Noah. He’d let her stay out in the event he needed some more help, but for now, it was about time they headed in and took on the gym leader.
Much like in Oreburgh, he found himself in an interesting set up upon entering the gym. The place was practically an indoor forest, trees lined up in various rows to create a makeshift pathway. Lafayette frowned and proceeded to walk through, Noah and Cheri looking here and there as well as they went. For a moment, he thought he might get lost but soon they found their way to the battle field. A young woman was just on the outskirts of it, tending the flowers that seemed to pile everywhere.
She looked up as she heard him approaching, a smile crossing her face as she brushed off her hands. ”A challenger I presume? Well I could use a good battle!” Gardenia remarked as she got to her feet, walking over to the other side of the battle platform. Lafayette nodded and stepped up to the challenger box, pokeball already in hand.

Even in the face of defeat Gardenia still managed to pull off a smile, returning her fallen Roserade with nothing more than a soft thank you to the pokemon. "Congratulations, challenger. You managed to defeat my pokemon, and strip away the petals of some of my flowers." Though it wasn't clear if the woman meant the last part as a compliment, she still managed to keep her smile as she approached Lafayette to dish out his rewards. "I present to you the Forest badge, proof of your victory today, and grass knot; it'll keep larger foes from getting too big of a head."

Lafayette nodded and accepted the badge and TM, eyebrow quirking as Gardenia remarked about him potentially stripping off petals. He glanced around, noting that some of the flowers were a little more naked than before. Oops.
"Sorreh sheila." He remarked, using his free hand to rub the back of his neck. He certainly hadn’t intended to mess up her garden like that. Still though, he eyed the badge gratefully, returning Dova and giving a wave as he headed back outside. That was done. He paused a moment in thought; he could continue on to the next badge in this region or go somewhere else. A little bit of strenuous checking, and learned the typing of the next gym.
Fighting? Hm… His team could handle that. And then, they could move off to the next region. Right, it was best to get the first three here and then go somewhere else. S’long as he matched badge for badge he’d be set. Maybe he’d even head back to Kanto for the fourth one; that one was grass like this gym. His team could handle it.
For now though, Lafayette was summoning out Dova and once more hopped her back to hitch a ride to the next area.

He placed the box into his lap, looking it over first before he actually opened it. Grayson sighed and leaned back, resting back against the bench, before he leaned forward and released the rest of his pokemon that weren't out yet. "Listen up," he started as he reached out to allow Tartarus to take its spot on his shoulder, which instantly left Magikit making a sour face. "I've got a few things for you all, sit still and let me do my thing, this won't hurt." Of course, Styx and Morta already knew about TM's, but then again his little 'speech' wasn't dedicated to them, but rather Charon. He knew the Litwick still didn't trust him, and in fact he wasn't all too sure if it was smart to give him the sort of moves that would help him take out Grayson's pokemon, but he was prepared with a contingency plan if that ever did happen.
That being said, he wasn't just going to give Charon these moves first and with a bit of a smirk Grayson indicated for Styx to come closer, bestowing her new moveset onto her first before he turned his attention to Morta, giving the same treatment to her then moved onto Magikit. "Stay still for me, alright?" He picked the kitten up, placing him in his lap before he placed one of the few remaining TM's to his forehead in order to teach him his move.

With, most of the TM's, put to use Grayson briefly turned his attention to Tartarus, who was far too busy swiveling its head and sniffing the air curiously. "I want you to hold onto this, it'll get you stronger faster," he informed the ghost, earning himself a growl of understanding before it shuffled across Grayson's shoulder and took the odd item offered to it. It trusted him enough not to question the object given to it, which was good in the long run. With everything else done Grayson finally turned his attention to Charon, who looked more than irritated with being forced to go last. "Keep your wick unlit, I'm getting to you now." With a heavy, elongated sigh Grayson switched through the few TM's he had left, trying to decide which one he'd teach Charon first, before with a shrug he reached out to hand the Litwick one of the discs.
Seconds before the exchange could happen however, Grayson felt a shiver and in the next second the disc had been snatched from the teen's hands. Blinking sluggishly Grayson turned to find a Gourgeist's retreating form quickly making its getaway. Withholding a comment he simply turned to look at Charon, who was staring out in the thief's direction in wild bewilderment. "Well, what are you waiting for?" he questioned the pokemon, raising an eyebrow. "Go get him." Charon puffed out his cheeks, unsure of what he was more upset with, the fact that his TM had been stolen or that he was being forced to retrieve it himself, but quickly began chasing after the pumpkin.

Grayson watched as Charon hobbled after his thief, the corner of his mouth twitching up in amusement at the sight; it was all about the little things in life. "We should probably go help out," he mused slowly, though when he looked over at the rest of his pokemon he gave a low chuckle at the similar looks of disinterest. Their violent new teammate wasn't doing too hot-- pun not intended-- with the rest of the members. That was fine with Grayson, he wasn't too big on the whole 'team trust' and 'teamwork makes the dream work' idea, just so long as they followed his orders; which thankfully they did. With Tartarus and Magikit on both his shoulders, Morta back in his shadow, and Styx by his side the group slowly made their way after Charon. They were stopped before they get far, and with a soft yawn Grayson indicated for Styx to take out their obstacle.

With the fleeing nickering of the Ponyta still in the air Grayson turned his attention to Styx to treat her wounds, smacking his lips in irritation when he realized that he had nothing to give the ghost for her burn. "You'll just have to bear with it until we get you to a pokecenter," he concluded before he tilted his head to the side, awaiting her thoughts. "T-that's... fine with me. It only flares up when I move too much," Styx assured him before she took in a breath, steadying herself. "Let us continue." With a sharp nod Grayson began moving once more, groaning when he found himself increasing his pace in order to keep Charon in his sights. Eventually the group caught up to the Litwick in an alley, where he had managed to corner the Gourgeist. Before anyone could react Charon's wick was alit and he spat out a flurry of embers at the pumpkin, instantly taking care of the pest and rescuing his TM.
"Good job." Stepping past Charon Grayson expanded a pokeball, empty, and tossed it casually at the form of the fainted Gourgest, he wasn't one to waste a good opportunity. As the battle drew to a close Grayson only blinked, his true feelings and opinion masked behind a face of pure indifference. Without a word he approached Styx first, quickly healing her of her wounds once more. "Are you trying to get yourself hurt?" he asked sarcastically, though he didn't wait for an answer before he turned around sharply to face Charon, who was really struggling. He eyed the Litwick with disinterest, watching as he panted heavily and stared angrily at the ground, but it clear he wasn't too concerned with healing him. "...Kit." Magikit turned his head to stare up at Grayson curiously, then slowly turned an inquisitive look back to Charon. "You really think he's worth healing up?" Grayson sounded mildly amused at this possibility, but at the same time he drew out another potion and squatted down to get onto Charon's level. "Fine, if you really think so."
With his expression slipping back into one of neutrality Grayson sprayed Charon down, seemingly oblivious to the sharp glare the candle gave him throughout his treatment. Once finished the teen pulled himself to his feet with a mix between a groan and a sigh, his attention turning to movement just outside the alley, again. "If you think you can get through this without flinching, there's another pokemon waiting for you," Grayson drawled, inclining his head towards the Bronzor who was languidly making its way past them. Charon folded his nubby arms crossly, but after a millisecond of thought moved quickly to catch up with the animated plate before it could get too far.

Grayson didn't seem all too impressed after Charon's battle, but at the same time he didn't seem disappointed either; enough so that he didn't need prompting to heal him. Afterwards Grayson leaned back against a wall and began pulling out the last two TM's for Charon. "Alright, get over here," he waved his pokemon over before dropping down to begin applying them both, one at a time. When he'd completed his task the teen straightened back up to his feet, tilting his head from side-to-side as he regarded Charon. "How do you feel?" he questioned the Litwick. Rather than respond, however, Charon looked down at his arms in awe, clearly amazed at the new power that flowed through him.

Grayson waited, semi-patiently, for Charon to acknowledge him, unable to help but to roll his eyes at how impressed he seemed to be with himself. After a while the male grew bored and with a bit of shuffling began to make his way out of the alley. He'd only just turned his back onto the Litwick when the candle looked up sharply, his eyes narrowed. In a split-second decision he began to create a green tinted energy between his stubs, doing his best to make it as big as possible before lobbing it directly at Morta, stunning the Gengar and sending her back flying.
"...Just great." Uttering a curse underneath his breath Grayson turned back around reluctantly, one eyebrow raising in mild curiosity as he watched Charon prepare another attack. "So this is how you repay me?" he questioned with a tilt of the head. When Charon failed to respond the teen simply sighed before he stepped back, allowing for Styx to take the floor. "Guess that means we've got a bit more training to do." Charon's cheeks ballooned out with anger and, with his fire flaring up, he sent forth another attack, this one aimed at Styx. The Frillish twirled to the side, elegantly avoiding the attack, and then disappeared from sight. "Lit!?" Charon looked around wildly, trying to locate the ghost, only to stiffen when he felt a presence behind him. Almost as if he was in slow motion he turned to find himself face-to-face with Styx, who greeted him with a torrent of bubbles that sent him flying.

With a long, drawn-out sigh Grayson looked over his team, displaying only mere indifference at the fainted Charon but frowning when he looked over at Morta. At the same time he was aware of the three pairs of eyes set in his direction, only Magikit's holding an ounce of fear and confusion. "Eh, don't worry about it." Grayson reached out to idly scratch underneath the kitten's chin, eliciting a hesitant purr from him. Tartarus, as always, appeared to be ever unconcerned, the events that unfolded between it only sparking some mild interest; it'd never seen a pokemon attack one of its peers before. The battle had been unsatisfyingly short, unfortunately, and now they were left to deal with the aftereffects-- or at least, Grayson was. Tartarus had no desire to help.
It was Styx who brought the group back to their senses, gliding over to Morta first to check her for injuries and try to rouse the pokemon from her involuntary slumber. After watching the two for a bit Grayson turned his attention to Charon and returned the pokemon to his ball without a word, though afterwards he heaved yet another sigh; this was just going to be more work for him.

With Charon taken care of, for now at least, Grayson turned his attention to Morta, who'd only just now begun to regain consciousness. "Oi, get up." Striding forward the teen nudged his pokemon with the toe of his shoe, his expression as always blank. Morta gave a grumble in discontent before she slowly began to rise, body aching in areas where she'd, not only been attacked, but landed unpleasantly on the ground. Once she'd managed to get back to her feet Grayson retrieved her pokeball, which immediately caused the ghost to frown. "Don't give me that look, you did this to yourself," Grayson pointed out, almost casually. "Letting him catch you off guard; you need to get your s**t together. I won't keep you around if you keep dragging behind like this." Morta's eyes flashed with anger at this news, but upon meeting Grayson's bored gaze she simpered and turned her head away, more or less accepting his words.
