Arilee had turned to go find water, only to see Ava faint out of the corner of her eye. Almost before she could even scream from fright, smiling and apologetic hotel workers were there, bundling Avacyn up and taking her quickly to the nurses station.
Something is very wrong. The thought gnawed and worried at Arilee as she followed and then stood outside the small room, pacing nervously. She knew for a fact that Ava hadn't had anything to drink. And they hadn't even started dancing enough to get over heated. She risked a quick peek into the station and saw far to many people inside. There was no way that all of those people had been boozing it up that hard.
Time seemed to drag and Arilee was feeling worse and worse. The room began to spin and then Arilee found herself on the ground, blearily looking up as someone tugged her mask away roughly and bolted.
What. the. ********. She waited a moment for the dizziness to pass and did her best to sit up. She was... tired, but she didn't feel as badly before. Her mask was gone. Looking around, she saw others having masks torn away. Hotel employees seemed just as confused as she was.
The tiny bits of information clicked together and she felt herself snarling as she struggled to her feet and began to shove her way into the nurses station.
"Ava! Are you in here?"
As soon as she found her girlfriend, she was going to find a reasonably private place to power up. Then she would push Ava through and send her to safety.
Then... then she was going to come back and ******** kill someone if any of her friends were somewhere in the hotel being drained or hurt.

Honestly. Billy was only there out of requirement, and he wasn't enjoying any bit of it - it was the same old Negaverse game. The same old song and dance. Then he heard someone call for Ladon - they were in masks, so how could anyone tell who Ladon was unless he'd removed his mask--? But then he hadn't time to wonder, when it seemed the facade was over and the battle begun. Billy, now Bismuthite, made his way to Wolframite's side, took a light grip on the lieutenant's wrist, and made to pull him to the back wall - away from the fight. Observing as out of the way and unseen as they could.

Jonah's HP: 10
Jonah didn't like the idea of sitting there. Of course leaving would solve something. They would no longer be exposed to whatever it was that was making them feel ill. He was not the only one feeling this way, he knew. There were others passing out, and the young man who sat across from him looked as if he were becoming affected as well.
“But...”
He didn't have any time to argue. Something erupted just then, and the panic which before had been controllable suddenly shifted to paranoia and hysteria. Something wasn't right here. This wasn't simple fatigue. It didn't seem as if it were a gas leak either, now that people in strange attire were appearing out of nowhere all around him.
What the hell was going on?
Jonah made to stand up again but swayed on his feet, falling back into his chair a second time. Consciousness slipped away, but he stubbornly clung to it, not wanting to be even more defenseless than he already was. He needed to find his grandfather and his little sister. They were in danger!
And yet... he couldn't make himself move. He was in danger too. Fatigue or fear or a little bit of both kept him right where he was, staring with wide eyes at the young man across the table.
“We should... this is... I don't know what's going on but... we need to get out of here or find somewhere to hide!”

Lucasta HP: 20
Lucasta noticed it immediately when the atmosphere changed. She thought there was a part of her that had been expecting it, but she'd been too tired to adequately prepare.
She'd been drained, she realized. The appearance of Negaverse agents seemed to prove as much in her mind. They'd all been drained. This party had simply been one big operation, and they'd all fallen victim, including her. If only she'd realized it sooner, if only she'd known, perhaps she could have found a way to put a stop to it before things fell apart.
That was expecting too much, of course—and thinking too highly of herself. She was but one lone cat in a room full of Negaverse agents and tired Senshi.
Lucasta's hackles raised as soon as agents began appearing. She forced herself to her feet, fluffed up and angry. There was no point in remaining hidden now. The hotel staff had more to worry about than a cat in their midst. In any case, she doubted they'd do much more than run. Humans were notoriously cowardly in the face of those things they didn't understand.
She left the cover of the buffet table, leaving the mask where it'd rested beside her under the tablecloth, as there was no point in carrying it around any longer—if there'd even been a point in it to begin with. An idle curiosity at best and an unnecessary distraction at worst.
Lucasta sprinted forward and latched her teeth into the ankle of the first Negaverse agent she saw.

Aquamarine HP: 40
“No more time to chit-chat,” Lovely announced.
He'd stayed in relatively the same spot all evening, being ignored by Ilian and doing everything in his power to change that. As a result, he was in a foul mood. Luckily things changed for the better soon enough, and it was time to get down to business.
Lovely transformed in seconds, leaving his civilian identity aside to face the party as Lieutenant Aquamarine—an identity he was still becoming used to even these several months later. He scowled at the plastic toy sword in his hand, but given the quiet message they received and the fact that many of the people here had already been drained of much of their energy, he didn't think a toy sword was going to pose much of a detriment to his ability to subdue the enemy.
“Well then... who should it be?” he wondered, scanning the crowd of panicking individuals. He completely ignored the presence of fleeing hotel staff and civilians, focusing instead of the Senshi and Knights that began to appear.
With the rate that they were popping into existence, Aquamarine suspected many of them had already been there.
“Let's see... eenie... meanie... miney... moe... catch a tiger by the toe...”
Marlin had found himself growing more and more concerned as more and more people started to pass out. One or two people he could have put down to alcohol, could have stretched it to perhaps three or four - but this? This was a veritable stream of people all passing out and being carted off somewhere.
When a young man wearing a purple mask two tables over slipped over and fell to the floor, Marlin had gotten up and followed as he was carted off to the Nurse station. He had made up some story of missing a friend and coming to see if they had been there and had been startled to see just how many people were in the station.
How did that saying go? Once was chance, twice coincidence and three times a pattern? Because based on what he was seeing in the Nurse station they had edged well past pattern and were into conspiracy status.
He excused himself from the Nurse station with an apologetic comment about perhaps being mistaken and had edged away to see if he could find out if there were weird goings on, on one of the other floors, wishing as he did that he wasn't feeling quite so tired and then all hell had broken loose.
He hadn't seen the cause, but had caught up in a mass of panicking people as they tried to stampede en mass towards the exit - at least most of them seemed to be, although he thought he caught a glimpse of someone who was either in a very good approximation of a senshi outfit - or was a senshi.
Either way it bore investigation, not least because Marlin smelt a rat and because Chloe and Steve were somewhere amongst the people here.
Struggling out from the crowd he managed to slip into an abandoned room. It was Falias who stepped out of the room, white mask left abandoned on the room floor, his green eyes widening as powered he was able to sense what Marlin hadn't - the number of dark auras in the hotel.
It didn't bode well - he still remembered DestinyCon - large numbers of Negaverse auras never boded well.

Kirra’s smile dropped away again, hurt by the boy’s harsh words. She should have watched it, and now he wouldn’t like her and that was terrible! But she’d already said sorry! Her first day to make friends and she’d messed up! But then just as suddenly it seemed all was forgiven and the red-haired boy was recommending ice creams after all. Even if he didn’t want to hold her hand, it was still okay because he’d said so.
“What flavour is blue lemonade?” she asked, bright again. “Does it taste blu- what are those kids doing?”
The falling children startled her, and she spun around at the thumps, craning to see where the other kids lay amongst the balloons and on the dancefloor. What was this, a new game? Or were they sick? They couldn’t be tired, she wasn’t tired!
Before long, lots of people were falling over, and it was quickly starting to get scary. The staff had stopped spiriting the other children away, and were now just stealing their masks while they lay there, which she thought was really mean. Grown-ups were running out of the room, too, and she couldn’t see her cousin.
“Is it midnight now?” she asked Briar. She’d been told to stay in this ballroom, but this wasn’t very fun.

For Briar!
Gigi lay in the nurse’s station for a while, only getting up when it became clear that there were far more fainting victims than places to put them. Even the people who came in helping their passed-out friends were passing out. It seemed like there was a full-blown panic in the hotel now, and it didn’t take long to spot them - dark outfits that were neither formalwear nor hotel uniforms. She shuddered as her tired mind fitted the facts together into a dangerously familiar pattern.
Moving away from the crowd, Gigi backed herself up into a sheltered corner behind a door. She clutched her coffee-bean pen in both hands, concealing, and pressing it against her chest. She was so tired. But she had an eight-year-old to look out for. With one last check to make sure she was unseen, she took a deep breath and powered up.
As Sailor Subamara, she felt more awake than she’d felt all evening – since slipping her mask on, in fact, though the exhaustion still lingered, slowing her reactions, her decisions. She might actually be able to do some good here, she realised. If everyone else was as tired – as drained! as she was, then her magic’s caffeinating boost might help restore a little of the alertness that had been stolen from her allies.
She bit her lip, peeking around the corner into the panicking sea of people in the hallway. Dark auras tainted the hotel on all sides. The priority was finding her cousin and getting her clear. After that, she’d have to see what she could do to help evacuate everyone else. She was not going to let this be another locked-room bloodbath, especially when there were so many people here, and mostly civilians.

Her mother and brother had gone out to some family party while Ava had stayed behind and would bundle up with Netflix and some popcorn. She had a few shows she wanted to catch up on and she wasn’t really feeling festive anyways. It was going to be another year where she didn’t know where she was going in life. Both her civilian self and her other self. She’d reached an impasse in her life and it was depressing her. She was still attending school but eve that felt dry. Ava flipped through the movies until she found one she wanted.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Ava glanced at the phone on her nightstand; it hadn’t rang in a very long time. Her hand reached out as it continued to ring but paused, did she answer? She grabbed onto the phone in one quick motion and flipped it open.
“We…help…draining…”
“What? Hello? Who is this?” She knew this was a senshi, only senshi had this number. But there was so much background noise and yelling that she could barely make out what whoever was calling her was telling her.
“Umbre…Agents…”
“Umbre? What does that even mean?” The phone made a loud clanging noise as it was dropped to the floor and more noises and shouts came through. Ava held the phone back from her ear.
“Umbre hotel!” More muffled noises before the line went dead. Someone had called her for help. Umbre hotel rang a bell in her mind, hadn’t she read there would be a large party? Someone had invited her to go, but she’d refused. Ava threw the blankets off as she got out of bed. She didn’t know what was awaiting her, chaos definitely but who was the enemy? She paced her room a couple of times before making up her mind. She powered up and left her home in a hurry in the direction of the Umbre hotel.
It didn’t take long for the sound of screaming people to reach her ear as Phoenix got closer and closer to her destination. People were running out of the hotel and screaming in terror. Phoenix decided it would probably be best if she went in from another entrance and went through the back. It wasn’t hard to figure out where the heart of the action was, the noise was enough for her to follow and find herself at the entrance of the ballroom eyes wide open in shock. She didn’t even know what she was looking at, Negaverse agents, fights and senshi that were passed out with some being dragged away. What now?

Evren simply wandered around in the commotion. She looked a little concerned as she realized she didn't even know where she was in this place... She just continued to walk around calmly as everyone else was panicking around her. Guess Evren just wasn't picking up that something dangerous was going on.
"Yeah, it's nice that-" Before Silas could even finish his sentence, Kaida had crumpled to the ground unconscious. "Kaida? Kaida!" He leaped out of his cot and went to her, giving her a gentle shake to wake her up. Outside, he could hear some kind of fantastic ruckus going on, and while he wanted to investigate, he wasn't going to abandon this girl while she was unconscious. If she didn't come to soon, though, he would leave her a note. He had taken to carrying a pad of post-its and a pen around at all times in case he needed to send an emergency ring mail, but being able to leave notes anywhere had its other conveniences, too.
"If we need a distraction, being noticeable won't hurt." But he suspected that idea was going to go down like a ton of bricks. He had a history thus far, or a future history, of having this end rather awkwardly. "I think things are heating up, at this point there's not much more they can do to pretend things are normal." He added, though that was more of a statement of the obvious than a selling point.
"If there is a cat that would be pretty useful... might be able to tell us if we have anyone else powered up in the area before we announce ourselves. "And hey." He added jokingly. "If we really need to convince the joint to clear out I can let Asterion go wander through the wet bar." He noted, with a wink to show he was kidding.
"OK if I were a cat... where would I be in this mess?" He was guessing either up high or under a table, someplace safe but not entirely under foot.
"My lady, any night can be made for fantasies." His eyes showed his own disappointment as her hand slipped from his fingers. It left a warmth there but he didn't notice as his gaze locked onto her face.
"You should come with me then." There was a deepness about his voice. Jasper wasn't paying attention to around them as he stepped towards her. "We both need to get out of her unharmed and I could not forgive myself if I just walked away right now." Unless someone pulled a gun out then it was every man for themselves!

"When this is all over..." Delilah started as she began to pull Hannah away from the lobby, "Remind me to smack you across the back of the head."
Delilah was working them both towards the back, the direction people were coming from. She was looking for an emptier spot as she did so, stopping only when they were away from being walked over. "Not good...." She sighed and looked towards Hannah. "You are going to join, aren't you?"
Delilah though was also digging through her bag. She had felt her phone vibrate and by the time she found it, realized the name. Mei. "It's the agents." Delilah finally said flatly sending back a message just to let the woman know she was alive. "This isn't going to go well."

Quenton set the text to a group message so that it would send the same the first few civilian numbers he had he could find.
Are you at the New Year's Gala? Staff targeted cats for removal, even therapy animals- illegal, suspicious. Droves passing out. Must be an enemy.
The music and crowd din were so loud. He waited for the stair to clear, not a long wait with so many tired and preferring the elevator, and ducked into the empty hotel maze of flights. A quick check confirmed usual angels of surveillance, and he walked calmly out of view while planning paths and trajectories. He transformed, leaving one ridiculous outfit behind for another. Its a risk to transform, if there aren't many others here. But not acting for fear of the consequence ...? No.

Cora (guardian cat, in feline form): 20 HP
Gaze on the ground Cora listened the black cat talking, tail uncomfortably twitching by side of her. His words, they actually hurt a bit. She had already apologized her behaviour. Did he really have to hold grudge and talk to her like that?! He is just like Leopard's Eye..... No, don't you even dare. Don't dare to think that idiot now. Geez.
"My vision was blurry..." Cora muttered, barely hearable. Not that it really mattered did he hear or not. Maybe it was better if he didn't hear her. At least he couldn't another comments. She kept her gaze on the ground, idly extending and withdrawing her nails against grass beneath her, dwelling in her sour mood and not really listening his ramblings... Until Faust's call summoned her back to reality.
"Coming!" sing-song voice called back before the fluffy guardian trotted towards him, following his lead.
Just below the window, she sat down to watch Faust's leap before attempting the same herself. Don't worry, Cora. It will go just alright. You're a cat, you can do it. Okay, maybe you haven't done this very often lately but you're still a cat. With those thoughts, she took a position, tensed her body and leapt upwards. Front paws extended, she managed to get a hold with her claws....
... for like two seconds. A surprised, feline-like sound escaped from the kitty when she fell.
"Hey, wait!" she called to Faust but he was already in the midst of the party.
She tried second time, this time concentrating more on the task. No luck. Not with third time either. Or fourth. This was really getting annoying by now.
She made one more attempt, this time in her human form. It was a success! Cora wanted to scream some cheers but no, no time for that now. After returning to a small feline shape again she sneaked in the ballroom, following the sound Faust was making. At least she was loud, which in this case was only a good thing.
