Note: Arcana is maxed outArcana gave one last sobbing look back over her shoulder as she finally followed her mother, Kamiki, into the air. There was so much grief and fear that Arcana slipped into a sort of numb shock. Her father killed by her "brother"... the fires springing up - it was just too much for the already withdrawn, overly emotional mare.
If there was one bright side, the heat from the fires made it easy for even one with flutter wings to ride the hot updrafts to safety in the cliffs.

The collission with the four-winged mare was delightful. She heard a resounding THUD, felt her flesh give way to her sharp horn (even if it was a parting graze), and knocked the more delicate mare over onto the ground. She shook her whole body with delight as she forced the mare over. She may not always bear this size - the size her brother Diogenes always possessed, but when she used it, she felt OH so good. So powerful.
But when she looked down at the mare as she fell to her side, she was in for another delightful treat. Fires. Fires had begun to spread in this territory, and she heard and smelled the fur singing. "How does it feel?" She said between bared teeth, "Tell me, mare. How does it feel?"
She knew that the fire wasn't part of the plan. And yet, the cruel mare couldn't help but exalt in the fires... Even if the heat was getting distinctly uncomfortable...

Lamia had a death grip on the mare... for better or for worse. She refused to let go, and so as the mahogany mare threw her, and in not letting go, Lamia rolled over.. Her awkward, bony limbs not handling the jarring roll well. She flinched, her jaw knocked as they impacted. But her vicegrip sunk her sharp teeth deep into Cataclysm's shoulder with the force of the impact.
Her eyes blazed brighter in anger, but her mouth full of flesh, she couldn't speak. It was old flesh. Not the delicious, juicy flesh of foal she craved. But this wasn't a banquet: this was war.
She hoped her mother saw her power. Saw her dedication.
But then, what was that? Out of the corner of her eye she spotted fire. At first she thought it was the fires of her own hooves, but no... it was elsewhere....

Chemosh circled around his cousin, seeing one of the winged opponents, one who had been farther back coming for Seance again. He curled his lip, while he was confident in his abilities, defending from an aerial attack was more irritating than not. He would have to find some way to fix that…He turned to Seance with a crooked smile " Yessss cousssin, that sssoundss like fun~let usss hurt them" He was waiting for the mare to come closer, her wing beats slightly disturbing the smoke around them, making small ripples in shadow that Inkling had made. With all luck she couldn't see them clearly - He waited patiently, his eyes unblinking as she came closer, closer… He then reared out of the shadows with a hiss, opening his mouth as wide was he could, aiming to take a piece out of one of her wings, aiming to ground his prey. Inkling Raised a delicate eyebrow as one of the stallions crashed to the ground " Ooo, that had to hurt…" Her ink swirled around her as she turned to find the other charging forward straight at Taraxippus. She came out of the shadows alongside him, exposing her black fangs as if she meant to meet him head on but as he reared she turned about, lashing out at Canaans exposed underbelly with her great scaled tail. Planning to knock him to the ground as well as wind him. " Oh, certainly, don't give up~" She murmured " This scene is far more interesting that way" She grinned, her eyes glinting with a madness that was uniquely hers.

Note: Taraxippus is maxed outTaraxippus whinnied a derisive laugh as the spotted stallion crashed - hard- on the ground as he dodged his attack. He had telegraphed far too much. Inexperienced. Inept. This was precisely what the corrupted unicorn had expected of this herd.
And strong sense of command and control flowed through the stallion as Inkling - the storyteller, the collector - someone Taraxippus predicted to be a chronicler but not an active participant joined the fray, defending him directly from the wind stallion.
And, for a moment, with the agressors engaged - leading the charge rather than being a mere foot soldier (as it was supposed to be), Taraxippus took a step back and surveyed the battlefield. He needed to access the circumstances; see the big picture.
And suddenly his exaltation and sense of control shattered.
Fire. Fires were tearing through the herdgrounds. The herdground he was planning on ruling - it was spreading with all of the speed and devastation as the wildfire that it was.
No. No that was wrong. That wasn't part of the plan. He wanted to rule these lands, not destroy it!
And there was more... The skies were no longer teeming with conflict. Many of his herdmates were missing. He spotted a few laying on the ground, defeated.
No. No no no! He snarled. How were they losing?! Surely, this couldn't be his fault, though doubt already began to gnaw at him. Maybe they should have had a more organized plan of attack. Maybe they should of armed themselves with poisons. Maybe they had been overconfident.
They were losing... They hadn't been strong enough. He had underestimated this large herd in their own territory.
His mind raced. He needed to gain control of this disaster. Spin it.
The fires were a threat to all of them. It was destroying the territory, and it could kill those fallen comrades who lay defeated on the battlefield. And that b*****d Firestorm was nowhere to be seen. Coward. They were doing this on his behalf.
"THOSE OF FIRE AND SHADOW.... COME TO ME!" He bellowed as loud as he could. He needed to gather his forces. He would need to leave before the wildfires blocked the only egress point accessible on hoof. And most importantly, he needed to show a strong, powerful front and not make it obvious that they were retreating, but instead own this fire, and make his intentions seem different.
Nymphalidae Taraxippus is calling all of his forces. You can choose to have your soquili hear or not/obey or not. CitrusCupcake Taraxippus is calling all of his forces. You can choose to have your soquili hear or not/obey or not.

Nise-e was struck hard in the side and she gave a shrill whinny as Diogenes’ tail slid across her coat, leaving a trail of blood as it did so. But she did not falter, or tried not to at least. She had a single thought and mind to keep going. To not give up. And she twirled around him in the air to strike back with her front two hooves with all the power she could muster. Even if it wouldn’t be enough. She did not care in the slightest.
But that’s when she smelled the smoke.
Fire…
“Fire, she mumbled quietly, ears and nose pricking forward to try and find the source.
She flew higher, then, for just a brief moment. Mindful of Diogenes just below her, she knew he could strike again at any moment if he went up on his hind legs.
“Fire! She cried out towards everyone, yelling fire repeatedly louder and louder, “FIRE!”
Her herd members needed to know! They needed to get somewhere safe!
She zoomed as quickly as she could towards her fallen, broken familiar and landed by his side. His eyes were closed and she could barely make out the rise and fall of his chest. She had to get him out of here. And as she gathered him up carefully, tucked between her wings safely so as he wouldn't fall off as she flew, she turned towards Diogenes’ shouldering, insane, dangerous gaze.
“You ever so much as come near me or him again I will hurt you,” she hissed and glared at him, “I will hurt you more than you could ever hurt me or him. This I promise you.”
And that was a promise. A promise she would keep. She will learn to protect others. She will learn how to fight and to heal. Not just for herself, but for her fallen friend.
Kamiki For Diogenes. If you want to call someone to aid her in her quest to get to safety, and to attend to a dying Xander that would be great.

Megaera is Maxed OutMegaera shrieked in fury as the white beast - her own herdmate - flew back at her in attack! Had she been a deeper thinker, she wouldn't have believed it. But Megaera was never very bright. But she did know anger.
She was knocked back, towards the waterfall, as Legion slammed into her. She could see her daughter, Psyche, at the cliff... she could see her son, Infenum... her unconscious daughter, Calliope, being taken away - thank the spirits...
And Megaera had one, very crystal, very clear thought. "We should not be here!" She screamed.
"Psyche! Infernum! My children!" She shouted in a mix of lament and fury.

Infernum may have been a big, bulky stallion, but he was nothing compared to the elder wind.
He migh have well have been a bison on the railroad tracks in the face of an approaching train. He went sailing over the edge of the ledge, even as he heard his mother's shouts, she was robbed from his view.
He snorted, lashing out with his hooves, but he was facing the wrong direction, and before he knew it, he was falling. He must have had cracked ribs, because his wings were't flapping like they should have been. Not with the same force. His side hurt, his pride hurt, and he was barely able to slow his fall enough to not hit the water below with enough force to hurt him worse.

Wynter Fury could see but it was very difficult. The shadowy blanket that stretched to offer cover for her opponents didn't give one who was trying to penetrate the inky blackness a whole lot of advantage. She was going in blind as it were. It was an unsettling feeling to describe. As Fury strained her vision to try and locate the place that Seance hid behind she realized that something else was coming out of the shadows directly at her. Large white eyes, seemingly open and accusing was all that Wynter saw before realizing a new opponent had presented himself before her. That was all the warning that she received before a shrill whinny was torn from her throat. Pain lanced through her and Wynter paled as she realized what had occurred.
Her left wing was caught in the mouth of a stallion that seemed to be blacker than the air around them. Steeling herself against the sensation of the sharp, searing pain along her wing Wynter tried yanking her wing free to no avail. The stallion had found good purchase.

Chemosh felt his needle like teeth sink deep into flesh, bone and sinew, feathers filled his mouth. He had been successful! Using his weight he kept her there and with a great yank of his head, released the bitten wing and tossed her to the ground. He turned to meet his now grounded opponent when Tara gave a huge roar. His ears pricked back to hear the words as the blood of his opponent dripped from his jaws. He wanted to call everyone back here, where he was…His eyes gleamed - " Bad luck for you little winged one…the whole party isss coming here, and they're not the friendly sssort" Tara had been right in assuming that Inkling wouldn't have normally participated, but rather recorded, However- sometimes one had to be part of their own story and protect the future plot lines. She saw an impressive range of emotions fly across Taras face as he realized the danger they were in, the fires were all around now, smoke billowing around and choking those on the ground and those aloft. He called for his family to come to him, luckily she was already here. Her ink scrawled pictures in the air of shadowy flames and equine figures fleeing for their lives " The flames of hatred do not care who they consume." She said, spreading her wings that seemed to be no more than shadowy skeletal remains and slowly, like dye spreads through water, darkness spread through the membranes of her wings.

There seemed to be a brief moment in which Tsunami felt utter calmness flow through her. She had finally come home. There had been a delay wile she had been a wreck but that had passed. Now once again Tsunami felt as if madness was trying to shatter everything in her life once more. Figures continued to battle around her position. She was still standing guard over the unconscious for of Stormfall. Her gaze never wavered. At an angry sounding yell Tsunami turned her head to see the blue flutter mare standing on the cliff once more. A small tic of her mouth was the only indication that she was pleased to see the mare limping. Apparently her horn had caught more flesh than she had realized.
Feeling the need to exchange words Tsunami spoke, "I'm glad that hurt. As for what you've done to me nothing directly to me but let's see: you have invaded lands that don't belong to you and engaged in battle with those that live here. If that isn't enough I believe that you are partially to blame for my mother's current state. Do you deny any of this?"

Note: Cataclysm is already maxed in stats. Cataclysm's vision was red with rage. She felt her wing wrench, it could be broken; she wasn't sure. But they rolled over the ground; so angry and in the zone that she almost didn't notice the burning embers on the ground, bushing up with the rocks and dust in the struggle. Little dots of fire and pain as they crashed into the ground. The mare was still on her, her teeth still sunk deep into her flesh. Instinct began to take over and Cataclysm began to rear and buck wildly. Her muscles strained with the effort, sweat beading down her face as the temperature around them began to raise at an alarming rate.
Tisiphone roared in triumph as the spotted stallion fell. She turned to assist her daughter when her eyes fell upon the fires whipping up around them. Fear gripped her chest as she reared up in surprise; despite the flames on her foot it was not the same with real fire. Wildfire could sear flesh and the smoke could stop her breath. They needed to leave, and soon. She heard Tara's cry in the distance and she stood stonelike rigid for a moment.
She should head her Alpha's cry, but at this moment she was more concerned with her daughter. "Lamia!" she called. "We need to get back to the swamp. Now."

KAMIKI, CALLIOPE, & SPELLBOUND have FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours. Sabin Duvert To Arcana / Coming to assist Spellbound and Calliope (unconscious)
Kamiki was relieved to see that Arcana was following. "Keep going, I will meet you up there," she said to her as she scanned the burning lands below. She saw Spellbound, Arcana's brother and her and Azure's child, trying to help an unconscious Calliope to shelter. Making sure Arcana continued on her path to safety, Kamiki unfurled her wings and went to Spellbound's aid.
"Let's get her to the mountain top," she said, though another wave of sobs choked her in her throat as she saw her son; he didn't know about what happened to his father yet.
Spellbound felt his heart sink as smoke began to rise around him. What was happening? Everything was falling apart.... it wasn't supposed to be like this! He had landed on a rocky outcropping, hoping to tuck Calliope behind one of the large boulders so he could go back to trying to help others; but the flames were growing fast and he wasn't sure if this place would be safe for her; he couldn't just take the chance and leave her there to burn to death!
Then his mother was beside him; usually so beautiful and put together the purple stallion's hair was frayed and ragged and her eyes were red and bloodshot, tracks of tears already formed in the soft fur around her face. "We have to go now," she said, already assisting Spellbound with Calliope's unconscious body.
Spellbound gave a resolute nod, shouldering Calliope with her and escaping to the rocky mountain peaks.

Nayci Leaving combat with Nise-e Diogenes watched for a moment as the little Flutter took the air, seaming to retreat. Let her go, Diogenes thought to himself, as it didn't matter to him. She was hardly a threat, and just wasting his time anyway. He heard his Alpha call to him a short ways away, and went to answer his call.
He thundered off in that direction, noticing the fire beginning to spread but not paying it hardly any mind. His giant hooves crashed over the burning bushes and branches, the flames licking and singing the fur near his hooves; but he marched on. He wasn't here to battle fires, he was here for his Alpha.
When he saw Tara, he increased his speed, rearing to a halt by his side and pawing at the ground, ready at his command.

(( Stormwild is calling for a retreat into the mountains.)) (Stormwild has already maxed stats)
She had to make a decision. She raced over her headlands, her heart sinking as she saw the battle. But despite that, the fire.. the fire was growing at an alarming rate. The dry conditions had made the whole lower part of the mountain range a perfect kindling; and the wind from the Thundering storms brought gusts but no water; causing the fires to wind up the trees and spread with an inhuman movement.
This. This is why the Spirits had granted her wings. This is why it was so important. The land... the land would grow back. But the fire and smoke were going to claim more lives than the attackers at the rate it was spreading. "To the mountain peaks!" she called, unfurling her wings and racing as fast as she could around the lands, calling for their retreat. "FALL BACK to the mountain peaks. Now! We have to go!"
