He still remembered how his first few days in Halloween had been spent hiding in alleyways in the streets, lost and frightened by the sheer number of creepy figures that he had seen wandering the town. He hadn't had any idea of where he was, or who any of these people were--Lutz hadn't even been aware of his own state until the second day, when he had tentatively removed the blanket that he had found himself draped under and peeked down to find that his body resembled that of a marionette's.

Endings weren't always pretty. But this one was. She watched the glowing red ball of fire that was the sun setting from her spot in the tree. It was an amazing sight to witness after an exceptionally terrible day and it calmed her nerves. Gabriel Santiago didn't mean to get enchanted by the voices but their laughter was so alluring, so as their small party was making it through the woods she was steering them towards the voices. The dream felt so real as she slipped towards the chattering lake and released her hold on hellrisen's arm to sit beside the lake. "Do you hear-r them, hellrisen ?" She asked softly but for the moment seemed content to stare over the lake.
The voices soon called her forward to look into the water and so she did, without a single glance to her party memeber. In the water what reflected back at her brought forth a gasp. Memories. Her memories.
Why? Was the only question that ran her mind as she stared into the water and dipped a few fingers into the water, watching her memory play out.
One stone, two stones and then another. Lute giggled happily as they skipped across the water and rang the bell in the center. Staring up to her father she spun a small circle before falling on her bottom. Cursing her legs mentally, since they were the reason they were here to being with. The local boys were making fun of her for not being able to run as fast since walking was new. "Nn, it's hard to stand with such broken feet." Pouting up to her father he blushed when he giggled. "Your feet are not broken Lu-Lu bell...they are different like mine and like your mothers. They are better." He grinned and picked the little ghoul up to sit on his shoulders. "You might try and keep it up until you can run as fast as papa, do you understand?" Lute's little cheeks puffed and she nodded, "Yes papa, Lute will try try trrrry again!" It was a like trail of repeat and error but by the end of her second year she was running with the adults. Singing and playing just like the others, no longer to stumble and fall and no longer aware of her differences.

Unable to pull her self from the onslaught of memories she slipped away again into one. Watching and listening as it played out. Her pink ears twitching as it swirled to life in the water below.
Watching the other Satyr party and drink she knew she was different. A lot different. None of their past times was she fancied with so the idea of school her father had given her, gave her hope that she could further remove herself from the typical Satyr culture and behaviors. She forever wanted to be different ...as least different from them. Cake, eyecream and pink shiny stones...what could make a ghoul happier? Nothing. Lute was beaming as she unwrapped each going away gift from her family. They were all so thoughtful even for drunkards. Taking a break from gifts she lead the party in the first eyescream shot and giggled as her cousin demanded a cheers with their fudge filled glasses. Her party ran long into the night and while it ended with an upset stomach she would do it gladly again.
Happiness for their kind was indulgence and that day had been pure bliss.
On a shake of her head the doormouse ghoul pulled from the lakes enchanting chatter and quickly withdrew her hand. Her gaze going to her party partner in worry. Had it gotten to him too?
Face your demons Doing this fooor now. xD When he does his third just have him grab her and run them out into the treasure trove, then we can post opening the chest and lvling up before getting out of here xD

It seemed so long ago that he had first gone to the haunted house as a field trip and training exercise. Even so, he remembered the events quite clearly. Red had turned into a behemoth of a monster, tainted by insanity, though they hadn't known it then. Hunters and student alike were trying to take her down. He couldn't see anything. A foolish move to try and kill Caelius had rendered him blind and deaf, if only for the time being. He could feel Mitsu's fur as she guided him through the chaos. Then.. at some point, everything went quiet. He heard something crumbling. The battle was over. Training was intense. It always is. Today he found himself sparring someone older and more experienced than himself. It was rough. He wasn't doing so well, and as always people were expected to go all out. It wasn't taking long for him to be wearing down. It was to harden him, make him better. Pain is weakness leaving the body, after all. There was certainly plenty of that here. And soon the final blow was struck. He felt his consciousness slip away before he dissipated. He was far too young to really remember her when she vanished. When she died. Shadowstep only knew a few things from what others said. How she was a gentle soul. She was a good cook, and her favorite flower was the orchid. Perhaps that was why she had the opal orchid pendant that he now owned. It was the only thing he had of her. There were no pictures, so he didn't know what she looked like either. It made him wonder what she was really like in person. He'll never really know.
