Atari didn't notice at all Esca's hesitation, and sat happily against the back of the couch with his knees drawn up comfortably, the heel of his boots at the edge of the couch.

"I...read the books this is based off of...They're good, but really long..." Esca nodded, letting out a slow breath as she nibbled on her cookie again, resting her cheek against his shoulder.

"Oooh," Atari offered softly, a giggle as he shifted to look to Esca. "Want to watch something else then?" He didn't care what they watched either way, really. He simply wanted to spend time with her! And the cookies.

Esca shook her head. "Oh, no! I like the movie. The book is just very long." She giggled,blushing a bit. "See, he describes everything and goes into such details on pasts and what not. It's a little much."

"Okay!" Atari giggled, shifting to hug close against Esca. He blushed softly, but it wasn't enough to show. "Is this the kind of movie that makes you fall asleep?" He nibbled against his cookie as he watched after her, certain that if it were, he'd be out within half an hour.

"Mm...Maybe? It's a little slow on the start, but it gets to be really exciting later..." Esca nodded and pulled away to lean forward to get another cookie before leaning back again, resting her head against his shoulder.

"If I fall asleep you can nudge me back awake," Atari giggled, smiling as he snuggled closer to Esca though he kept sure to keep from encroaching in her personal space any.

Esca nodded, smiling, before she lifted her head, looking up at him. "Atari? Do you like coffee?"

"Coffee?" His ears perked and he smiled shyly to her. "I've never had coffee before," he admitted, dusting cookie crumbs from his front. "Is it like chocolate milk?"

"Not really, but..." Esca looked down at her hands, examining her nails. "But I have a coffee cake in the fridge..in case you get tired of cookies. And it tastes like coffee in the frosting.." She smiled, blushing a bit.

"Ooooh," Atari purred, his eyes lighting up. "I'd like to try that!" He blushed, and covered his mouth to muffle a giggle. "When you feel like getting up for cake I mean."

Atari giggled a 'Kay!' and hugged against Esca again, purring softly as he kept snuggled to her more, his eyes back on the movie screen.

Esca smiled and leaned against him, only moving when the fellowship got to Rivendell. "Okay, let's get cake," she said, flailing a bit before she pulled back and got up.

Atari bit his lip and fidgetted with his fingers as he watched Esca move away from him, his heart sinking some as he averted his gaze to his boots and shifted to wrap his arms around his knees a moment before shifting off the couch to follow her into the kitchen slowly, shyly.
