Never Again...Herald remained silent as he heard Emma. He wasn't as sure as she was that he wanted a family. He couldn't stand kids. He honestly didn't want anything to do with them. Nevermind the fact that he didn't consider himself any kind of good rolemodel for children. After a moment he slowly pulled her on top of him so that she was laying on his chest, enjoying the feeling of her body against his like this. "Perhaps someday," he told her. Though even that was being generous in his mind. Will I be bound in chains

Emma moved slightly, resting her chin on her hands as she looked down at him "Well yeah, I think I would make a pretty cruddy parent right now." she joked with a small giggle.

Never Again...Herald looked down at Emma as she rested her head on her hands. "You would be a fine mother," he told her as he put one hand on top of her head. He wasn't just saying so; he was sure of it. He could see that Emma was kind-hearted. After all, she had saved him from madness. At least for now. Herald knew there would be more challenges coming in the future, which was why he had been so hesitant to allow Emma to care for him, and to care for her back, but in the end he couldn't help himself. He wanted her here with him, even though it might end up hurting her later. Was that selfish? He wasn't sure. He wanted her to be happy too; he knew that much. That's why he had done all this. Maybe it was because even if he was killed, she would be taken care of and have a safe place to live. He wanted to make sure of that. Will I be bound in chains

Emma smiled towards Herald "Thank you. I am not really sure though still... I guess I am just hesitant with those sorts of things." she said. Her biggest fear, if she ever did have children, was accidentally hurting them in some way. "I can't remember my parents or life before... that... so I don't know how to raise... little people..." she said, making a face as her ears pinned slightly.

Never Again...Herald wrapped his other arm around Emma's lower waist as he pulled her up to him so that he could kiss her on the lips, still keeping his hand on the back of her head. "It will come, I'm sure," he promised her. "No one expects you to know right now."Will I be bound in chains

Emma nodded as she stared down at Herald before placing arms on either side of his head and kissing him again. After a few moments she pulled away and looked at him again, looking like she was about to say something. She stopped herself suddenly and looked away with a slight blush on her face.

Never Again...Herald noticed her blush and cocked an eyebrow. "What?" He asked her, genuinely curious to hear what she had wanted to say. Will I be bound in chains

Emma shook her head "It is alright... too soon for that anyway..." she said, mumbling the last part. A few seconds before, Emma had an urge to tell him three words she wasn't sure though about Herald's feelings for her though and if it was a good or bad time to say it.

Never Again...Herald looked at Emma for a moment longer before he nodded. He didn't want to press her. He kept one arm around her as he thought about the impending fight they would surely have against Divine. Despite trying to focus on the here and now he was still being distracted by it. This was the calm before the storm and being here with Emma had given him something to fight for. Will I be bound in chains

Emma laid back down on Herald's chest, quickly going back to enjoying her current time together with Herald. The things about the future continued buzzing around in her head for some reason. She had a few questions still but thought it would be best to stay quiet and not overly bother Herald.

Emma's ears twitched slightly as she looked at him "I know." she said "Which is why we need to talk to the others and spring into action soon." she said. "I kind of want to kick that stupid bird's a** if I get the chance. He really ticked me off in our last fight." she said with a small pout.

Never Again...Herald nodded as he listened to Emma. When she talked about the bird he cocked his head to the side slightly. "Oh? What about him upset you so much?" He asked curiously. He had seen the bird during his brief trip to the World Dyed in Black but hadn't much interacted with it. He didn't even know whether it was sentient or not. Will I be bound in chains

Emma's ears pinned slightly "He was annoying. Same with his abilities. I was in an enclosed area when we fought so it was really difficult escaping his abilities. I almost lost it..." she explained.
