As the light returned, his shadow grew from beneath his feet, his form twisting around him. Efflo strained to try and see it, but the moment he tried, the looming presence vanished, leaving only his regular shadow behind.

He'd made it to the next part of the tunnel but as he walks, the firm floor gave way to liquid, warm, smelly and horrifying. Occasionally something firmer bumped into him, and made him shiver.

The deeper he ventured, the weirder things got. Whispers echoed all around him, angry and attacking his ears. Efflo covered them, but it wasn't enough. He hurried ahead as fast as he could.

He caught a flicker of light ahead of him, and he broke into a run, eager to be rid of this foul place. He climbed out of the tunnel finally, and stared, incredulous.

He was right back where he'd started.
