"Glad I'm not the only one.." He said with a soft chuckle. She was getting the hang of grabbing these shards, "Yeah, they don't make any sense." It did seem pointless to listen or string them together.
"It's nice to meet you too, Amir Rose." Tiek wasn't sure if there was reason to meet others, but it didn't seem dangerous. If anything, more information to be gathered. That would help calm these insufferable questions.
Speak of the devil!! Another shard flitted by. Grasping it, a new stream of words came to Tiekash.
SUNDAY SPECIAL.
The mission, to find five shards was complete. He disliked the idea of leaving his new companion, Amir Rose, alone. "I'll wait until you get the fifth... Then maybe we can both go to the shrine and present them to the goddess?" SHARD -- 5

They kept winking out of existence, leading her to the walls, dancing before her eyes.
She was cold, and they were warm, and so Licraesa took it as a sign that they were one with the goddess. Maybe she was hearing her memories through them, and the thought was a comfort. It would bring them so much closer together, this act of serving, and that was all that mattered.
It was that simple.

Another blinked out, and a live wire sparked around her, crackling with light-- electricity, apparently.
Licraesa didn't touch it.
She had a feeling it might hurt.

It was a little curious, maybe, how she knew things.
As Licraesa encountered objects, signs, places, institutional knowledge returned to her, floating into her mind and snapping into place.
A gift from the goddess, perhaps?

Finally. Her fingers wrapped around a crystal, and so Licraesa pulled it close, holding it to her chest, and the heat spread across her hand and up her arm and--
It all died in her throat at --'s words, and the sickening snap of a neck--
Licraesa shook her head abruptly-- she didn't want to linger on that memory (who was it-) at all. There had to be others, to chase, with brighter eyes and sharper tones and warmer moments.

Amir Rose glance around, now curious then ever if since it would seem they could all hear random things from these fragment. Turning her eyes back to him, she chuckles before she reach out to touch a fragment that appeared right before her.
Only to realize that she was actually able to touch it.
Smiling she slips her fingers around the fragment as she pulls it close to her heart, listening tot he words just because she was curious about them.
"What do you want..."
Utterly confused, it was the only thing she could describe the way she felt at the moment. Pulling out the other four fragments she looks back to Tiekash before she relaxes "So what has your fragment been saying to you?" she was only curious because it would be interesting to know if any of them were the same.

It came upon her like a serpent, the vibrations winding around her-- and -- whipped her head around so fast she nearly-- Red eyes glared at the walls--
It was a horrible feeling, to know that you'd forgotten something important. These memories shared by the goddess only made her ache.

The grey, shadowy girl held the last fragment close. It was time.

Huffing, Tiek tracked down Amir Rose not far from where he had left her. Pleased, he grinned at his companion. His body had changed, becoming more discernable with two triangular ears appearing on the top of his head.
He returned in time to hear her question. With a nod, he responded, "A lot of weird, weird things... Like... Steak, Cola, Death, Buried. It was odd." He couldn't recall all the words, and it didn't seem like such a big thing to worry about.
"Amir Rose, you should go turn your shards in," His yellow heart buzzed in excitement, "It's amazing."

Tiekash noticed her again, the goddess. For a moment he was tongue tied, but eventually worked up the nerve to go to her. He was afraid, afraid of being rejected again.
This time, though, she wrapped him in her embrace. It happened so quickly. A terrible scream and then the scuffling sensation of other bodies pressed against his. And the hunger. Hunger for mother's milk...
Then it was gone, and her voice filled that space "This is old and gone. You were never meant to hold such a thing."
She released him and Tiek took a moment to understand. Looking at his hands, he felt the warmth, protection, and understanding. Though what he understood, he didn't know. The Goddess was there. She would make it right.

It gets darker, and Licraesa isn't sure if she's worried, but she has a more solid form, now, and a name, and that is more than she had when she'd awoken this morning (what is a morning, what is the passage of time, time is an artificially constructed idea, we are arrogant-), and that was good, in her book.
She walks through the halls of the home of her goddess, and cradles the mystery of what she used to know in her metaphorical arms, coaxing her mind, idly dragging her fingers along the walls and--
The (sunshine, cockatoo, lemon) eyes. They see her.
With an air of caution and a careful gait, slow and cautious and hesitant, full of wonder and-- oh, her wings touch Licraesa's arms and with it comes a sense of familiarity, of home, of something warm.
When she pulled away, it all came crashing down, and with it the thud of her own (mustard, egg yolk, wasp) heart caught in her throat.
"That can't be everything, can it?" she asked, pleading. "It can't all be like this."

The grey-shadow surged forward, again, not yet ready to leave.
"Can't you tell me anything mo-"
The dark gets darker, and Licraesa experiences vertigo (a sensation of feeling dizzy, often associated with heights, and) it creeps up her legs and surrounds her arms and devours her. Her heart beats once-twice-thrice, and she is warm. She is warm and content and the world is huge but it doesn't concern her at all.
She closes her eyes and the warmth is love-hope-happiness, the warmth is love-excitement-anxious, the warmth is love-are we ready-yes we are.
The warmth doesn't stay. The darkness lifts like a curtain and with it comes the draft and she covers her ears with her hands and she squalls like an infant because she is one, and her hair even as a newborn is fire-bright red and her eyes are amber-brown and her parents love her but it is the worst thing she has ever experienced and it is the only thing she has ever experienced.
Licraesa hiccups a sob and feathers cascade around her shoulders, and selfishly (selfishly) she presses her face to her shoulder and she desperately wants to cling but being near the one who woke her (blessed her, sought her) is enough. She takes the memory away, and Licraesa is thankful.
The goddess giveth and the goddess taketh away.
Licraesa accepts the blessing as the goddess pulls away, and bows deeply, intently, with a somber face and a somber mind and a somber heart.
The memory was hers but it was not hers to keep. That was how it worked.

Amir Rose blinks as she looks Tiekash over for a moment. The change was actually surprising as she looks back up at him "Okay so everything the fragments said to you was just as confusing. Go figure." trying not to stare she nods as she glance to the portal that he came from.
"I think I will soon, I'm just enjoying this place and don't want to leave just yet." she found herself shrugging before she push her hand through her curls "You have to admit, its better then fog...right?" wrapping her arms around her waist, she tilts her head to the side.
