Igny was growing tired of this game. She sent one more over the edge, scrawing and squeaking in pain.
It was only then that she hesitated. Was this the right thing to do? She could feel their pain. It seemed wrong.

Marati's continued wanderings had taken her far from the ruins that were the...well...Ruins. Before she knew it the countryside expanded before her, heavy with fog and brimming with promise. The girl clutched her new weapon to her chest then, looking around to see where to start - the bridge, naturally, seemed like the best idea.
She moved upwards easily.

The Bridge, her destination, rolled out before her. The girl looked beyond it, trying to see past it and, upon seeing nothing obvious, started to edge her way across it. Slow and steady won the race, and the last few steps she took were bouncing with joy. Now, onwards!

The summit was so close; she could see it. It was better than the dank of the Ruins, and she was determined to see this through one way or another. Before she could go any further though, there was something taking a dive at her - Harpies, her mind offered helpfully - hoping to protect their home.
Marati tried to leap out of their way but failed, their claws coming to snap at her shoulder. Luckily, she managed a decent hit in with this proximity...

The Birds were getting agitated, but so was she; she had been cooped up in a room with a Yamaha for a long while, and now it was time to stretch her legs - and her arm. She avoided the use of her weapon entirely this time, instead enjoying the feel of beak-on-fist with a fairly solid punch.

The yellow-hearted girl switched the spike from one hand to the next, diving it right into the chest of an attacking Harpy. That seemed to do it for them, the remaining birds squawking before flying off. There was a moment of silence as Marati stood and waited for any sign of something returning, or perhaps another attacking creature, and when none came she carefully moved forward, towards the summit.
The view, as she suspected, was absolutely breathtaking. She took a deep breath, taking it all in. She could feel that something small had changed within her, and she welcomed it.
