Sally looked at Marceline curiously as she approached them. She tilted her head. When Dashner introduced her, she nodded and waved just a little, holding her hand up. "Nice to meet you."

Vinnie groggily shambled into school, her night filled with vivid dreams of the circus she was forced to join. In fact, she had barely slept at all; not a good start to her first official day at Monster High, by any means. She hadn't even remembered to grab her gore-ientation folder, which had her schedule and locker number in it... Vinnie may as well have been wandering aimlessly in her own Dreamlands.
She slumped against a wall and clutched her forehead, desperately trying to regain her sanity for a moment. Where was her first class? Try to remember...

Dashner looked over at Vinnie. "I'll be right back, guys."
He walked over to the ghoul slouched against the wall and offered her his hand. "Hey, need a hand?"

"Attention all non-adult entities!" Ms. Sue Nami had cried when she burst into the door of Dead Languages. "This is Rorrim Bludworth! He is your new classmate. Follow all school protocols and do not let his new, distractingly-shiny presence cause disruption in your learning. That is all!"
Ms. Sue Nami spun around, dashing Heath Burns in the face with a bucket's-worth of water before flowing out of the room, leaving a mortalfyingly-embarassed Rory in her wake.
"Er....hello?"
"Ah, Mister Bludvorth." Mr. Rotter glowered down at him. "Take a seat next to Mister Rosvell. Today, we will be discussing the delicate languages of the ancient Mesopatamian zombies. I hope that you all have loosened your throats in preparation...."
And, that was that. Seated next to Roswell and in front of Ronan, Rory felt a lot better. It was like he was insulated by soft, cushiony friends. Trying very hard not to attract Mr. Rotter's ire, Rory tried to squirm around and see who else was in the class.

"Ah-HA!"All four kids jump from the outburst as none of them saw Mister Hackington, the Mad Science teacher of Monster High, approach them from around the corner of the school hall. He leered over them as he looked from one to the other."The first class started ten minutes ago! Even the new kid is in class! And yet here you four are, hanging out in the hall!"Oh no! Mister Hack was notorious for this! Feared, even! He leaned in close to the kids and grinned."De-TENTION!"

Marceline idly flipped through the pages of her Dead Languages book, passing more than once the chapter focusing on Mesopotamian zombie dialects. Her mind was still on Tombcoming... she'd never been to a dance before, and was somewhat obsessing over what she should wear. Her eyes flicked upwards at Rotter's mention of a "Mister Bludvorth", and scanning the room she spotted the red-haired mirror witch settled in the first row next to Ronan. So mother allowed him to attend Monster High after all! She sighed, her face curling into a dazed smile as she began daydreaming... Tombcoming, with Rory..."Miss LaGhede!" Rotter's snarl snapped her back into reality, as he loomed over her desk. "As one of my most fluent students, I'm sure you know the proper conjugation of 'distract' in Mesopotamian Zombie..." A ripple of giggles bounced through the class. Marceline slumped into her seat, cheeks turning pink. "I'll have to get back to you on that one, sir..." She murmured, tipping her hat down to cover her face.

One medium, and then craft a final project out of that. It was a daunting task, a very big decision to make because it would determine a very large part of their grades for Art class for the year.
Layla lost herself in thought as she wondered silently as to just what she might like to challenge herself with this year. Last year she worked with both clay as well as crystal, sculpting both and receiving pretty good grades.
But this year, this year she wanted to try something no other student had thought of.
Perhaps not in the school's history.
That was when her mind drifted to what her mother might think interesting to use in a form of art, and that turned her mind to her homeland -- and then the answer hit her.
She felt eyes on her and she turned her own amber gaze to Kai and smiled and silently mouthed her own decision to her art beastie..."Ssssand...."

Hellene stayed up close to the rafters, flapping her wings as silently as possible as she watched Mr. Hackington hand out detention slips. She didn't need this kind of trouble, not so close to the tombcoming dance and right on the heels of sneaking (accidentally of course, drat that Gryff!) into the Headless Headmistress's office.
She clutched the pre-press copy of the New Salem Hexaminer to her breast, the paper crinkling faintly. Her story! The circus expose! FRONT PAGE NEWS! She wasn't going to talk about it until lunch, when the paper hit the stands, and then she wouldn't be able to stop talking about it.
Mr. Hackington was walking away and she flew off in the other direction to Journalism class. No one would mind if she was late just this once, she had the best note in the world!
"Sorry I was late, I was busy making front page news in the local paper!" she whispered to herself, smiling.

Dashner wasn't phased by the announcement that he had detention. He just shrugged with an apologetic look to Salley, and went to his first period class, Dead Languages.
He strolled in, and it wasn't a surprise to the class that he was late. "Mister Vawke! What a surprise.." Rotter said, with no surprised tone.
"Yes sir..." He replied simply, before taking a seat next to Merabell Ice. He browsed the class room... Until he saw Rorrim. His eyes widened.
He tried not to jump up and shout, but he figured he was in enough trouble already with being late to class.

Still bummed about Ronan basically hating her gut, she sat boredly in Clawculus. Mister Mummy gave them worksheets to work on during class, that would be due the following Friday.
She sighed, wondering how she would get it all done in so little time.

Sally took the detention slip, confused about it, but dared not to ask. She watched Dashner hurry off and just tilted her head. As everyone else scurried away, she turned and walked off to her first class. World Hiss-tory. The best way to learn about a new world, right? She certainly thought so. She even remembered seeing it when Dashner showed her around.
She stood up straight and started to walk down the hall, walking away from the craziness and back to class.

Nero slumped in his chair. It was rare that he found himself too tired to participate in class, even though he sometimes stayed out pretty late at the clubs. A quick stop at the Coffin Bean and he was generally good to go. And this was one of his favorite classes, Advanced Boosic Theory II.
Not today. Today he's barely managed to drag himself out of bed. Kai had to push him into the van, they got stuck in line at the Coffin Bean and had to give up before even getting anything and they got to school just under the wire, barely long enough to get to class. Kai had to race off to avoid a late slip and that left Nero struggling at his locker. In the end, he'd just given up and left all his books behind.
He looked at his pen, willing himself to pick it up and take notes but he just couldn't lift anything today. It was like he was all lifted out. Getting the pen onto the desk was hard enough, he didn't think he could take writing with it too.
Nero starred at the clock, willing time to pass faster and yet dreading having to pick his notebook up to get to the next class. This was going to be a hard day.

Rory couldn't believe it. It seemed like this class was completely made up of his bluddies, with no regard for any differences in age or tenure at the school! Was it going to be like this in all of his classes?
Rory looked down at the slightly damp schedule Ms. Sue Nami had given him. Physical Deaducation next....eep. Rory hoped the coach was accommodating to students who might possibly have an inclination towards shattering during certain hacktivities. Ogrestra class...probably less dangerous, though there was always the possibility of somemonster managing to hit a note that could make him crack into a million billion pieces! Rory started sweating. What would he have in his afternoon classes? Clawculus...reasonably safe. Monster Civics...very safe!
The rest of the list seemed to be okay, until Rory looked at the last class on his list.
"Mad science!...." Rory blurted out loud, without realizing it.
"Vhat vas that, Mr. Bludvorth?" Mr. Rotter was suddenly right on top of Rory, who jumped and leaned backwards from Rotter's death breath.
"Er....Machdsciyence?" Rory took a stab in the dark at affecting a Mesopatamiam Zombie accent. Mr. Rotter raised an eyebrow.
"Very good. Your pronounciation is hexcellent. Now you vhill have no problems asking vhere the restroom is if you ever happen to be in ancient Mesapotamia."
Mr. Rotter strolled away, and Rory let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in. He hoped there weren't any other close calls today.

*BRIIIIING!*
Before Dashner knew it, the lunch bell was ringing! He got up his things and met his buddy Roswell Grey in the hallway. As always, Roswell was eager to get to the Creepiteria and eat.
He had made plans with Marceline that him, Roswell, Marceline, Rory, and Merabell all sit at a table together. He still could barely believe that Rorrim was actually going to Monster High!
Dashner, Roswell, and Merabell were all waiting near the entrance for Marceline and Rorrim. "I'm STARVING!" Roswell exclaimed for the fifteenth time.
"You're ALWAYS hungry," Dashner and Merabell said at the same time.

Ronan gathered his belongings and headed to lunch, one could hardly be expected to study on an empty stomach after all.
He approached Rory and smiled softly. "I am glad to see your mother finally relented." He looked around. "It is.. a lot to adjust to yes?" He'd not been here much longer than Rory after all, and was still a little overwhelmed by his surroundings.
