Titaia - Well there is a reason they call "Luck" a Lady. She always smiles at just the right time and with such a gift as this...We're burning this place till it collapses. *The normal side of the Meister was able to get a light joke off before her attention was refocused to her injuries...they were indeed grave and needed constant tending. Without medical care there was little chance Titaia would survive this. Iron Maiden was at the tip of the sword was pointed at them and seemingly she/Miena was having a spaz attack of some kind. It was interesting to look upon but soon an attack of something happened...it took her a moment but the crazed Meister could figure it out. Being crazy did not mean stupid or was a hindrance. She just didn't see reality the way the rest would. The Meister didn't fall for the trap but she couldn't see those spikes. The sane side of Titaia poked at her. Seems the woman forgot something. She didn't need her eyes to see, the woman only had to listen. Being a Master Meister as well meant she had been able to prefect this, the woman didn't even have to close her eyes. Timing the use of Martin perfectly she sent the spikes flying int all sorts of directions including back toward Iron Maiden herself. The fire of Martin looked like they began to engulf the spikes themselves adding more light to the area. Either that or Titaia was seeing things again....it could happen. The fire had flown from the blade and it began to set the very ground ablaze. It was begining to look nearly mythical with the way the fire and the darkness itself were interacting. The Darkness was growing but the fire was thus eternal for the time being. Titaia walked confidently among the flames.* Titaia - You know using such things doesn't work on me. Such tricks are naughty and not very sportsman like.
*The red head could only smile a little bit. She had not expected Devin to act like that she could see the reasons why he would but at the same time there were issues with that as well.* Jaci - Devin, as much as I applaud you for being so forth coming with that, I think you have forgotten my bleeding ability. If you were below Mary as she climbed it would drip onto you causing you more injuries. *There were a couple other things as well. Jaci being a nurse and the fact that it was too quiet for Mary to be around...it would mean they crazy girl had already made a break for the ladder to get out of the tunnel. With her achluophobia this didn't surprise Jaci at all. Her partners mental health was something that was concerning to the nurse.* Jaci - Besides I can't, I am a nurse and the injured must be evacuated before myself. That is just how things go...and I also think Mary already hightailed it up the ladder...

Mary had stopped when Jaci had asked her to. When the weapon returned with her report of seeing the ladder and light, the meister grinned and hurried down to the ladder, but turned around halfway there. "You two coming?" she called back to her companions. But, seeing the two debating on who will go first, Mary shrugged and hurried up the ladder.
Once the sun light hit the girl's face, she was to her feet on solid ground, dancing and twirling around, enjoying it's warmth. After a moment, Mary peeked down the hole where the two weapons still were. "Jaci! Come on!"

"You're just as much a cabbage as she is..."
Devin was not quick to move to the ladder. He didn't want to climb, because it would take far too long. When he decided he had no chance of winning the arguement, he began thinking of other solutions. All that came to mind was extremely reckless, so really his options were either reckless or agonizingly slow. Devin was not one for slow, so it would be an easy decision.
"Well, I was only trying to avoid you seeing my technique for reaching the top."
As he spoke, Devin's right forearm transformed to his sword form. Quickly upon finishing his sentence, he swung his arm up and sent himself to the ceiling where he transformed most of the way back, but kept himself attached hanging upside down. He stayed there for all of one second before jumping for the ladder, which he grabbed with left hand.
Devin's arm in Weapon form was more resilient than in human form. It was why he chose to throw himself with that arm rather than the good one, because the other arm was going to have to grab the ladder.
After he was on the ladder, Devin looked down at Jaci to see her reaction. Though after thinking about it, Devin decided she likely did not see a whole lot. She was looking right into the light. Devin continued up the last ten rungs of the ladder to escape the tunnels where he moved away from the hole and sat down in a patch of grass. ____________________
Martin was unaware of most of the details of the current battle. It was not necessary for him to know, because he was busy increasing and maintaining the intensity of his flame.

Reane absorbed spikes into his body; Miena could not. The universal Inheritor ability involved turning one's body into spikes. Miena didn't mean to show off, but each returned spike was deflected by momentary spikes on Miena's body.
The flame against the darkness wouldn't work. Miena didn't care to explain. Deathfall and Nightmare wagered on Madness. The other Iron Maidens had no use for such tricks. With Parasite blood still racing in Miena, her manipulative tricks lacked potency. Her most efficient fighting needed to be done directly.
"Sylci. She gave me Iron Maiden." Feeling sick, Miena kept holding herself. This flame was annoying. Somehow surviving, keeping Reane away, and killing these two started to sound difficult. "Ugh! Inheritor is rich kid syndrome! We knew he'd neglect us! I didn't do this! I wouldn't! Reane brought this to us! He used Iron Maiden! Myara... She caused a problem she couldn't solve..."
The darkness acted in sync with Miena's Soul Wavelength. Much like Dyote, the darkness moved on her command. Erratically, in response to the persistent fire, Midnight Spikes launched from the ground, walls, and ceiling towards Titaia. They hardly proved threatening. They didn't seek to kill; they didn't need to, at this rate. A hall glistening in darkness meant an eternal Iron Maiden. With Miena being the key, the darkness would become a prison. Reaching such a point meant hell. Reane had assisted in keeping Miena instable. A normal Miena would never mess with injured enemies for so long. Iron Maiden sought suffering above all, even in compromise. This had not changed all this time. All Inheritors willing to accept Iron Maiden had to possess sickening qualities. It had become a prerequisite. No Iron Maiden could win or lose without suffering.

*Well...the nurse was right again, it would seem. Sadly, that did little to inspire her to think she was doing a good job.* Jaci - We're coming Mary, just hang on. *Jaci couldn't help but chuckle at the name calling. Even though at times it bothered her she wasn't one to do anything about it. Although it was not wise to call Jaci something similar to a food group. The red head could easily turn it around, she often did. The Sword just probably found her annoying anyway, it wasn't like she was burning any bridges.* Jaci - Even so, cabbage is good for you once in a while Devin. *She watched as the Sword Weapon made his way up the ladder. She couldn't see everything but she was impressed at what she had seen. It was then she noticed he stopped and looked back down to her. Least she thought he did. Why he would bother was unknown to Jaci. There could have been a number of reasons why the other Weapon did what he did. As soon as Devin was out of sight Jaci began to climb the ladder. At the top one of the back up forces helped the red head up and out of the hole. She looked around campsite base and she could smell blood in the air. Her brown eyes narrowed slightly...this was not a good sign, at all. Turning to her partner the Swallow began to walk toward the camp. Jaci was sure this was going to be a rough few hours.* Jaci - Mary...bring me my bag, I have work to do.
*The Master Meister heard Martin but before she could comment the crazed began to feel something was off. She stopped moving forward and her eyes gazed upon the surroundings. Iron Maiden was going nuts in the corner and somehow Titaia was happy she and Taia had such a better balance relationship...this person was making Titaia look sane. Looking around and even though she couldn't see anything she could feel that something was a miss. This was not a good sign.* Titaia - Taia...I think we are in trouble... *More spikes came from out of no where. She could tell they weren't precise enough to kill but that didn't mean she need to move out of the way. In a hurry too. Jumping out of the way of the spikes while making interesting faces at the close calls and whenever she got cut. The raven haired Meister didn't acquire anything more fatal than what she already had but more places for blood to leak out was not a welcome sign.* Titaia - You really need to work on your aim, otherwise all this play is boring. Then again playing with you now isn't much worth it, is it? I don't think it is no more anyway. *The dual identity Meister went on the offensive and charged at even more schizo enemy. Did she think this was going to end it? Not really no. But it would show that she was serious. Titaia was either going to kill Iron Maiden or was going to do her damnedest to take the freak down with her. Drawing the flaming blade upwards as she closed the distance between the Meister jabbed him forwards. It was then she remember that he said something...oopsy...Titaia ignored him.* Titaia - Sorry Martin...I have been trying to keep our body from loosing more blood. I am not sure how much time we have left. We'll have to finish this up quickly...I pray.

"That pesky voice in your head is me. And I hate your darkness. It didn't kill that other woman and it won't kill this one! I'll finish this myself. I'll kill them all for what they did! KV, Mudman, Goliath, Serah, Ars, Maims, Srcat, Grias... Who are you, Miena?! You aren't real! This is my body! I'm sick of you using it!"
The flame burnt her, making Miena dramatically scream. Whatever abilities she had wouldn't matter soon. Giving Reane control would mean her end.
"How...! That means Reane did it... I couldn't send him to hell fast enough..."
The darkness began swallowing the entire hall. Within seconds, the deathtrap would be live. Because of Reane's persistent behavior, the hole Miena formed from earlier stayed open. Miena desperately tried to close it. Her inability to do so signaled her fading control. The darkness would give her all she needed, but having an escape route in it defeated its purpose. Failing to close it meant too many different things. Iron Maiden was losing it. _________________________________________________________
This was the last thing Lynette wanted to do. Silver Fang acted as the channel. Lightly, she stabbed her blade into Ty. A quick transfer of Soul Wavelength would keep him alive. After giving him life enough to survive, she retrieved her sword. Soul Ignite destroyed the Midnight Spikes stabbed into him. The students had been saved.
Where Titaia and Martin went, a black hole started to appear. Iron Maiden in this new form had problems. Gothic, lonely, and miserable, somewhat like Dyote, this Iron Maiden looked content to stay down in this underground forever. The irrational fear of trapping Titaia and Martin with Iron Maiden scared Lynette. This wasn't a trap meant to escape; Iron Maiden wouldn't even kill with it. This was everlasting darkness in the worst of ways.
"Ty... You fought a Canum... That scythe... I'm glad you survived." Lynette had to catch her breath. Rushing in to Titaia and Martin would be useless if she got in the way. She knew much better. Her Soul Perception had to stay attentive. The students had to stay safe and Iron Maiden had to die down here. The process to figuring that all out wouldn't matter, so long as it all came true. "Canum escaped... Suppose we'll find him later... For now, focus on staying alive..."

*Alice couldn't say anything as her meister screamed. It wasn't the pain of the spikes that caused his scream, but the lifeless eyes of Venus that stared back at him. He had never seen a classmate die. A classmate give up hope. He thought that he had lost them both, and with his arms pinned down he couldn't save anyone. He could only grit his teeth in anger for the lack of his own power*
*But that soon ended when Lynette made it to the scene. She helped everyone out with the spikes. The pair soon learned that while Felinar had passed on, Venus was still alive. The shock from losing her partner effected her vitality terribly. They both understood that*
*As for Alice, the spikes reduced her power output but she could still fight. Ty had to be injected with Lynette's Soul Wavelength in order to fight off death and then had the spikes removed. The brunette had definitely been through a lot since he ventured into these tunnels*
*Lynette said something that was rather interesting. She said that Ty had fought a Canum. Neither one knew what that meant, so Alice decided to break the awful silence*
"Uh....Miss Beckett? What's a Canum?"
*Once the spikes had been removed from Ty's shoulders, he used his own strength to back on his feet. His body looked ragged. While most of his wounds had been attended to, they still needed time to heal. Adding onto that was the two shoulder wounds. He didn't know how he was going to do it, but he had to get back into the fight with Iron Maiden. He needed it*
"That doesn't.......matter for now. Miss Beckett.......could you please.....direct me to where Iron Maiden might be hiding? I.......I have to get something back that he took......and I'm not leaving until I have it."
*Ty blamed himself for Felinar's death and Venus's wound. Because he wasn't strong enough to defend his squad from a surprise attack, bad things happened. He wasn't fit to be called a hero. But he could at least give the Weapon a more proper send-off to the Afterlife than this*

*After the flaming strike hit their target, the gender confused Iron Maiden it let loose a scream that made the Meister cringe. What the hell did she hit? There was no way that Titaia hit a vital organ with the first shot. The raven haired one though had to place a hand to her ear. That was not a noise she was used to hearing.* Titaia - I think she hit a pitch not known to man. Oh my ears! *Things had stated to take a turn for the worst as she took a few crucial steps back to try and get refocused. Iron Maiden kept using names that meant little to this side of the Meister but the other was taking note...if they managed to survive this anyway it would make more sense later. The darkness started moving...that wasn't good.* Titaia - Uh-oh... *Even her maddened side knew what was going on. There might be enough time to land another attack and find someplace to retreat to...they only had a few seconds after that, she wasn't sure what would happen. The Meister was unsure of what would happen next...she was still bleeding out after all. Quickly judging her situation the woman opted to back off for a moment. after the attack she would come back and finish what she had started. Titaia couldn't think of a way to counter this attack so getting away from it somehow would be the best. Using her sane half to locate a hiding spot the crazed moved toward what looked to be some place out of the way. Titaia made little note of it before because it lacked importance but it surely was now. Swiftly, the woman made it to the noted point and with few mirco-seconds to spare. She was ready to jump back into the fray the moment the opportunity showed itself. As said before till either one of them died the fight was far from over.*

Mary continued to dance around in the sunlight soon after hearing Jaci say they were coming. It wasn't long until she saw Devin come up, then her partner. Once the female weapon spoke though, did the meister stop and smile. "Okay!" She then skipped along to retreive Jaci's med kit, returning with it within a few moments.

"A persistent devil scythe... The DWMA could use a Canum..."
Lynette stopped to calm down. Her focus was returning. Judging on what she saw up ahead, Titaia and Martin didn't opt for the self-sacrifice. This could mean trouble. There was no way Lynette would've let them die just to trap Iron Maiden. Not trapping him there meant something else, though...
Ty willed himself to his feet. If anything, he showed the DWMA's courage. Hurrying off Dyote and Andel seemed a mistake if Lynette allowed Ty to go on. The truth was, if Iron Maiden entered another stage, no one in the underground would survive anyways.
"Titaia and Martin are still fighting..." The sound of Divine Spikes echoed to every part of the underground. Lynette got up in a panic. All the darkness faded. The Iron Maiden from earlier was back. "I can't send you to die, Ty. Please, wait... Make sure Alice is ready." A quick communication to the surface signaled a warning. Iron Maiden would be attacking there soon if they continued to wait. This "Isao" Biciul brought up had been located. The Weapon was in a spot between Lynette and Iron Maiden. Clearly, Isao acted as a buffer. If it meant the life or death of Titaia, Lynette hoped Isao would make an exception.
"I have to go... Wait five minutes then follow..." Lynette commanded. "But..." Five minutes meant the fight would start. By no means did Lynette expect to end it in that time. It would give her a chance to re-analyze the fight if Ty came. Very well, Ty's survival rate would be unbearably low if he fought. Glancing at Venus, Lynette understood: being unable to stop Iron Maiden meant Venus's death. It also meant Titaia's, Martin's, Ty's, and Alice's. The DWMA needed to leave soon. The fight could have been lost now. "...Run, if you must. Take Venus, Alice and go. Iron Maiden will kill you... I can't be the survivor, Ty. Our deaths are not worth yours. Please. Do not follow me just to die..."
Leaving, hopeful that Ty would follow her directions, Lynette went down the tunnel. The fight could've been over already. This Iron Maiden possessed unheard of power. This was the true Iron Maiden... Delphinus did something to bring this out. Now Lynette feared dying here and leaving Biciul alone at Myday. The consequences to this fight now meant much more. The students had better escaped...

A soldier walked into Dyote's tent, making him lift his head up. "Time to leave, Dyote Tristis." "Iron Maiden is dead?" "No. We are evacuating. Follow me." ___________________________________________________________
Vex knew Andel hated having her injury public. Ignoring it probably wasn't the best decision, but Vex sided with his Meister when he could.
Waiting in his tent for a while, Vex eventually got out to find Andel. Vex didn't know most of the students escaped. He didn't know what was happening with Iron Maiden. Andel had been spotted near a tree. She could've moved at any second. Vex felt lucky to find her. Walking up, scratching his head, he got ready to speak. A soldier patted him on the shoulder. The command given to Dyote was delivered to him. After saying it, the soldier turned to Andel. "Andel Rasui: Please, come with us. We have been commanded to evacuate. All injuries will be tended elsewhere. Fort Forerunner is now a danger zone. We must leave immediately." _________________________________________________________
The black hole underneath Titaia shattered. Miena wagered too much on one move. She underestimated Reane for the final time.
"Stupid, stupid woman... Now you're underneath my heel."
Iron Maiden emerged from the darkness in a new soul. This soul carried power. Looking up, Titaia and Martin had been spotted. "So this is seeing souls! I can see why people like it!"
At the palm of Iron Maiden's hand, a collection of Divine Spikes released outwards. The new light pierced the darkness. Because of the overwhelming power, the Divine Spikes would shatter the underground.
All along the ceiling of the dining hall, Divine Spikes erupted upwards. They resembled Infinite Spikes in this dreadful way: Iron Maiden could use the two together. It didn't matter now if he was combining them. Divine Spike wasn't meant to attack furiously like this. The chain and power of one Divine Spike was enough. Casting all these should have broken its limit. Reane truly had become the Iron Maiden. All of the Inheritors absorbed into him, giving him anything he wanted. His soul could withstand it.
"Divine Spike, Divine Spike, Divine Spike, Divine Spike! Go! Pay them back! I'll show them the real Iron Maiden's suffering! I'll make them remember Goliath first!"

*Jaci had already been walking and her assumption that she and Mary would be the only ones unscathed...was correct. Just not in the way she had expected. Taking the bag from Mary who had gotten it quickly they walked with the caravan. There was no need to give her directions. As Mary followed her, Jaci made her way to where the medical site was. She would need to get her instruments ready quickly.*
*Andel looked up and opened her eyes when she was addressed, her eyes narrowed at being called injured...she didn't want to admit to such a thing not in front of Anna Maria. Sadly though with out the cover of her blue jacket any hole in her shirt would reveal the young brunette was turning black and blue...the Meister could have very well had internal bleeding. She had after all suffered through an explosion. This was not getting better. Seeing Vex she gave him a nod. Before turning her attention the man that woke her up. Yeah, Andel had fallen a sleep for a little bit but her body needed it badly. She was still worried about sleeping though...what if she didn't wake up?* Andel - You needn't tell me such things, all I needed was the sign to go. *Standing up she had a few problems, it was obvious. While she was sitting her body got used to not moving, her adrenaline was gone...she could feel the pain now. Hissing lightly, she walked over to her tent where she had Anna Maria staying. Calling to her younger sister she woke the girl up and the younger Rasui made her way out. Holding her sister's hand the Meister turned to her partner. Andel was probably going to be relying on Vex a good deal. After a quick glance she noted the elder Meister, he seemed to be doing fine even with his few injuries. Dyote surely had it easier than she would. Andel wasn't sure how far she would be able to go before her legs gave out and she would need help. Starting to walk rather slowly in the direction they had to go she spoke to her partner.* Andel - Hey Vex, I'm going to need you to watch me for a little while...I think I may have some problems.
*Getting out of her hiding place was easy and the woman was able to out pace the spikes for a short period of time. She was then up to blocking them as they continued to catch up to her...she was struck more and more leaving more wounds, more places for blood to escape and she couldn't keep up with it all. Titaia would surely bleed out at this rate.* Titaia - Remember? Why would I forget the one who binged on junk food? *It was time...Titaia had wanted to make sure the one before them had no more tricks than this. Seeing nothing really change even in this state meant there was little this one had to offer...all everything was now coalesced into one. Only shear power increased. Impressive but nothing that stop the Master Meister. As far as she was concerned, she had seen better. It was time to take Iron Maiden out forever. Isao was in place and she had nothing to worry about. Even with Lynette drawing close... The Meister's breathing was heavy and she had been holding back from coughing up blood but she couldn't stop it any further. The crimson essence drew a line upon her face from the corner of her lips downward...she felt her end was drawing near... it had to be, either that or the line in her mind between sane and crazed had blurred beyond recognition. It didn't matter to her if she lived or not...she was going to take them down with her if that were the case. Moving swiftly the woman placed more of her strength into Martin. The Meister was closing the distance between her and the mad man, cause it was a man again. She had students, friends, colleagues...all of them were on the surface. All of them now in danger. Dodging, blocking spikes Titaia drew back the fire covered sword for another blow. Even if Iron Maiden countered this one there was a nice little trick in it...a trick her sane side was able to play as she was the one in control of their soul.* Titaia - Hey, spikey! Have some fun with this. *Her aim was to kill...if this didn't stop him she didn't know how much more she would have in her but she would keep trying till she died.*
*Isao had seen Lynette coming for a while. She stopped to take care of her own and where he wished she would stay tending to that...he was wrong and she began heading his way. He promised Titaia that he would stop her...that he would keep her from harm. What the Master Meister had in planned was her secret that she had not shared with anyone... Dropping down from the ceiling as the teacher grew closer the young weapon halted her progress.* Isao - Forgive me, Miss Beckett...I cannot let you pass.

*Ty could only grit his teeth and clench his fists. He felt that he had something to do. Felinar died on his watch. Getting out of here and leaving his soul to Iron Maiden sickened him to no end. There was no honor to be found in running away from the enemy*
*But he couldn't ignore those in his party any longer. Alice was wounded and Venus was traumatized. The brunette couldn't put their lives on the line for him to find redemption for his actions. They were his friends, so he had to get them out. He hated the call that Lynette made so much, but he couldn't challenge it*
"...........Very well, Miss Beckett. Five minutes and we'll get out of here."
*He was hurt. It felt terrible not to be able to stop this freak where he stood. It was then that Serah's words drifted into his head. Power was absolute. If he had the strength, he could have killed Iron Maiden himself. But he didn't, and someone else died because of it. He shouldered Felinar's death even when no one asked him to*
*Alice saw her friend suffering in his own way, and decided to talk to him once this whole ordeal was behind them. But she made mention of what a Canum was. The weapon partnered with Serah was a Devil Scythe. And he was still alive. Did that mean Serah was still alive as well? That remained to be seen. For now, she just wanted out of this hellhole*

Jaci should've noticed what was going on. Aircrafts were beginning to disperse. The evacuation had been called. Medical attention had to wait. What uselessness it would prove if Iron Maiden emerged to kill them all.
Devin, Mary, and Jaci should've been commanded to leave with the rest of the teams. Denying following could be classified as insubordination. ___________________________________________________________
Vex wrapped his arm around Andel's not-bolted shoulder. Keeping her up took two arms. He realized how much he underestimated her injuries at this point. "I got you; this is easier than watching. Hey, we really leaving? I mean... No, that's stupid. You saw Death Scythe, right? He got his a** kicked even worse than when we saw him. There's no way we can beat this guy."
Talking himself out of being a hero wasn't hard. Vex saw soldiers boarding one of the many aircrafts. They looked gliders of some sort. With Anna Maria still following, they had to leave while they had the chance. Vex knew Biciul's failure meant an entire failure. "Hold up; I need to get you comfortable..." Vex knew Andel could still walk, but he expected her to tire out soon. Giving her that shoulder to lean on now felt appropriate. "...All right. Good? Plane is right there. Let's go." _________________________________________________________
Dyote felt deathly ill leaving comrades behind.
Seeking Biciul wasn't hard. A sloppy patch-up job of his major injuries would let him drag along. Although most of the DWMA had gotten into leaving, Biciul stayed outside, near the tunnel Iron Maiden meant to escape from.
"Follow me in there." Dyote commanded. "Insolent student; so you go in to die? You cannot use a Death Scythe like me. You, yourself, are helpless." Biciul replied. "So let them die? They fight and perish?" "Yes. They chose this." Biciul did not turn and look at Dyote. Instead, he turned to the aircrafts to depart. "I need them alive! We cannot let them kill themselves!" Dyote shouted. "It is too late for that. I suggest you follow me or pay the consequences later." Biciul said.

"Then die."
Iron Maiden welcomed whatever pain this woman had to dish out. Her final attack offered much obscurity. Never would it work against Iron Maiden. Few things would, granted his strength.
A hand to hold the rapier's handle; an arm to the hand.
Iron Maiden seized Titaia's sword arm. Indulgently, he added force by pulling her arm to heighten her attack's intensity. The burning blade could cut, pierce, or burn whatever Titaia wanted. Iron Maiden insisted it.
The attack deserved a moment to reflect on. Iron Maiden acted.
His free hand touched her chest. Spikes activated all throughout her body. The internal spikes need only pierce what was necessary. Countless spikes stabbing inside Titaia's body had to end this.
Iron Maiden kicked Titaia back, ripping the rapier from her hand. Immediately, he internalized numerous spikes inside the rapier. Disgusted with it, he tossed it off to the side to let it die off.
"What I am feeling is pain. It is a familiar pain; it is a pain meant for sufferers. I, the torturer, must oblige to it. Without beckoning to my weaknesses, I am as delusional as you believe me to be. I judge this why you and Biciul despised me so. Our Kishin will permit only Misery. Insanity and Order will be reduced to trivialities." The Legion died. Now Iron Maiden was alone. "...You took it all from me. I have nothing left. I see no other option but to seek Delphinus..."
Iron Maiden never took his eyes off of Titaia and Martin. Their souls needed to give up. Until they did, Iron Maiden would kill them a thousand more times. "I will send you to the Academy in pieces if you resist any further. Give it up; you lost. Rest. Die honorably." _________________________________________________________
Leaning against a nearby wall, Lynette couldn't believe this. She confirmed this boy was Isao. Seeing his unique soul helped in his identity. At some point, the DWMA line had to be crossed. To his back, Iron Maiden prepared to kill everyone. Isao would just remain here, under an order, and choose to die for Titaia.
Lynette didn't have much of a chance against Iron Maiden, but she had no intentions of standing around. The others were escaping. Isao could escape with them if he left now. Lynette knew she could give him enough time.
"Stand aside, Isao... You cannot die here. Titaia would never want that. I have to fight... I must. Please... You do not have to die with us." In Titaia's condition, she left behind a buffer. It worked enough for Lynette not to help in time. The Divine Spike frenzy stopped and Iron Maiden's soul mellowed out. It closely resembled how Lynette viewed Iron Maiden the first time seeing him.
The window Isao had to escape in wasn't big. Even with the stalling, Ty, Alice, and Venus didn't have much time to retreat. Lynette had to think creatively. The Canum scythe got away alive. Knowing the Devil Scythe, the Meister using him wasn't strong enough. (Any Canum capable of fighting alone would not have lost to a student like Ty.) Iron Maiden cast Infinite Spikes indiscriminately. Somewhere in the fire, the Canum should've been attacked. Lynette needed the Canum's return. With how faithful the Legion was, Iron Maiden's only mistake was his reckless Infinite Spikes.
And then there was Delphinus.
Lynette needed Isao to move. He was asking for Iron Maiden to kill him if he continued acting so loyally. Believing Titaia would make him wait here like this when she, herself, neared death did not seem reasonable. Isao didn't offer to help. He needed to be smart, preserve his life, and run.
