Leon was still waiting for that glass of pinot to slide his way.
"Oh hello awkward pseudo- family conversations, how are you?" he mocked into his empty drinking glass. "We really must stop meeting at gatherings like this." he continued. "No really, I'll hump someone's leg for the damn wine bottle right now."

Lex was walking past, noticing that there really was quite a lot of racket coming from this vicinity.
Then he took a look at why, shuddered, and decided that no; he really didn't need to check this out. A whole group of Hunters gathered around a dinner table...probably not the healthiest of environments, really.
He'd just go study Norse or something.

Otto flinched lightly at the nudge to his ribs. Bah, he'd sass Gingersnaps all he wanted, Eva! All the sass. Always. He leaned back, idly eating away at the roll and looking over the dinner that was laid out. A lot of booze was reeking through the air, and sure enough, the drama was beginning to take hold of those who'd given themselves to alcohol. Well, it had been peaceful for much longer than was usual. He had that to be thankful for. He could pipe up with a passive aggressive quip to attack those around him, but he kept his mout shut. It was none of his business anyway. He didn't even know what was going on for the most part. "S'over there, Fussybritches." Otto muttered to Leon, pointing at one of the many bottles of wine.

Harrison edged the green beans over closer, helping himself to a scoop while Jerry was making a mess and shooting laser eyebeams anywhere but Sasha.
He mixed it in with the mashed potatoes, and got several generous spoonfuls of the canned turkey. Through focus and determination, his plate started to look more and more like a food moutain. He ate while he built.
"I'll drink to trust," he said between bites, taking the glass Ro poured for him and putting it alongside his cider. "And great partners. And having the best job in the whole ******** world. Because when everybody goes on with their shitty lives, it's because of us."
The superpowers and global travel were a bonus.

Hell-o sweet dry nourishment, leave it to some anorexic kid to point it out to him. "Thanks, Jailbait." he quipped back in reply and lunged to grab a bottle of pinot and pour a healthy amount into his container before showing it to the other dinner guests. "Anyone else want?"

Leon received a very heavy glare from the teen. Otto huffed and leaned back, taking a big gulp from his glass of orange juice.

And then things took... a turn.
Wash sighed. Did he want to pick up the pieces? They were both drinking, so things would probably just escalate. He wished Jerry could just let it be. He wished Sasha hadn't found that whiskey- she just wasn't quite herself, and unfortunately it wasn't helping things. He didn't want to destroy their friendship - didn't want to hurt him, but he didn't know what else to do.
He let one of his large, warm hands enfold Sasha's knee, gazing down at her. The woman who had endured so much, and come out of it just a little broken, a little twisted. Hadn't they all? It amazed him how small she was, how strong and yet how fragile. She didn't need this. He just wanted to protect her, the only way he knew how.
"I'm thankful for you," he intoned carefully, voice deep and eyes calm.

Rep instinctually flinched at the sound of broken glass, even drunk, set to pounce at the threat of battle. But no, it was just Jerry, and he frowned. "Watch what yer ********' doin'" he growled, irritable at his own skittishness.
And then the drink was talking and he rolled his eyes. It was probably better to avoid getting involved. For a start, he was too ******** drunk and would probably smack Jerry at this point for ruining a tenuously tolerable dinner. Instead he paid as much attention as he could to the altercation while carefully and systematically stealing whatever he fancied from the table, and sometimes, when he got away with it, from Harrison's plate. Might as well get some food down before the table got kicked over and there were ******** tears before bedtime.
He held out his glass to Leon. "Aye awright. Here's to petty arguments."

Solia saw you Lex. She. Saw. You. She also was seeing quite a bit of tension in the room but Solia was simply doing what she did best. She was smiling and trying her best to see the light of the situation. Still, the vanishing life trainee had a slight pout coming over her features. Carhop Calvalier Text to Lex: Come back~ there is tasty food and booze! Plus everyone together is funnnnn~ ---------—------- Marcus was rolling his eyes at some people. Petty, even on a holiday. Still, he would be damned to let them drag him down, he did that well enough on his own thank you. He lifted his glass here and there to the various toasts. He could agree with the majority of what was being said. He was also trying to wait for everyone to say their part but- then was a sudden movement from Marcus as a memory went through him. You didn't drink water for the fallen. Water finished, he held his glass out to Leon. "I blame you for making me and Cass get a taste for it."

Eva hummed thoughtfully at Leon's offer. Well, she didn't...hold her alcohol all that well (or at all), but it was Thanksgiving! And a little would be alright, right? After Marcus piped up with his request, the young woman followed by lifting her own empty glass.
"Please!"
She somehow managed to remain wonderfully oblivious to the tension around the table. Such as how Eva operated, apparently.

The wine was at least at a good age in Leon opinion. It at least had some age on it. The cup of Marcus's was filled to a half inch from the top with a grin. "Its an acquired taste but a pleasant one." he assured the moonie, glad to be the one to introduce it to them. The glass from Eva was filled with care down to the very last drop . The petite huntress seemed far to inexperienced for a full glass, but 3/4th still felt like enough to him. "Just make sure you pace yourself, alright?"The grin however fell flat once the highlander wannabe came in sight, glass outstretched and waiting. But the grin came back in full force as he tilted the bottle at the ginger. "Alright. Heres to Petty arguments." he replied back, in an off tone. And placed barely 5 milliliters in the glass for the infamous Deus troll. The grin fell into a dark scowl as he continued to glare venomously at Rep. "My argument with you however, is anything but petty." The promise that they shared about inhibiting a mission was never forgotten by the life trainee. "Talk to me again cretin, and I will do everything in my power to see you asleep, forever. To petty arguments." He exclaimed loudly, toasting high in the air.

When Hazel heard Otto's 'thankful prayer' she gave him a mocking smile, "Oh, shut up, Banana!" she began laughing as she threw a green bean at his head. "I'm sure you can cram a lot into your big ol' mouth!" she teased back. Looking over to the black haired chick next to Banana, was a person Hazel couldn't seem to recall. "Uh... Well, I'm trying to making a turkey, but everything is just kinda melting off of it. What's your name?" she looked at her dead in the eye.

Otto smirked, batting at the green bean that had been tossed at his head. "You call me banana one more time, I dare you..." He still hated that nickname, but this banter sure beat paying attention to the drunkards at the tabl--- Leon was giving Eva booze."No." Otto smacked a hand over Eva's mouth. "Are you nuts?" Was the examples around them not a sign? Please Eva... stay sane. Otherwise Otto would have to babysit.

"Thanks, that's a good amount." She grinned at Leon, and then settled back into her seat, turning back to look at the other girl and the creation on her plate. After staring at it for a few moments, she lifted a hand and gave her a thumbs up. "Aww, I think it looks good! And I'm Eva."
She lifted her glass then, and had been about to take a sip when she suddenly found her mouth blocked off. The young woman pouted up at Otto, her protest muffled by his hand.
After a moment of contemplation, she childishly licked the palm of his hand

Sasha tensed immediately at the musical tinkle of shattered glass. Her shoulders straightened, her chin lifted. She was intoxicated, but not enough to shift her completely off center - just slightly askew. Sasha had acted in ways she oughtn't, said things she shouldn't have - these things could be attested to the alcohol. Poise was important to her, especially in public situations, and the alcohol had made it a little easier to be snide, snippy.
She wanted to run. She wanted to bolt out of the door, far away from Jerry's accusatory passive-aggressive remarks. Far away from Rep, from all of them. Sasha slid back her chair, intent on taking her leave - and then there was Wash's hand on her knee.
She wilted just a little. It was almost as if he'd known that she was ready to leave, ready to escape. Sasha stared down at his hand for a long moment before she lifted her eyes to meet his. Her mouth wrenched slightly to the side, a strange little half-smile.
Then let it be; cher. Let it be whatever you want it ******** it.
Covering his hand with hers, Sasha leaned over and pressed a kiss to the corner of Wash's lips before tucking herself back against the table.
"Would you like some potatoes, Rin? Wash?"
