Olan would have hugged him, but Marco was still driving. Any distraction might have caused an accident or something.

Marco was so glad he had Olan with him. He knew if he didn't have Olan he would have just killed himself when the prison revolted.

Not much time passed when Olan noticed that someone was following them. It looked like a patrol car of sorts.

Marco kept looking behind him. He was really worried now. Maybe taking Olan with him was a bad idea. He could be getting the other killed.

The patrol car pulled up next to Marco's car and the officer inside motioned for him to pull over. Olan could see the officer's glare. The man didn't look very happy to see one of his supposed allies and a prisoner together.

Marco pulled the car over. He kept a hand on the gun by his side in case there was any trouble. "Yes?"

"You seem strangely nervous," the patrol officer said. Well, that was what Olan thought he said. He tried to keep hidden, but he couldn't help but try to listen in to the conversation. "What is that rat you have with you? It looks like it should have been shot, like the rest of the scum."

The officer raised an eyebrow, but appeared to back off. "Do you have a permit that allows you to cross borders with it? Or at least for you to have it at all?" he questioned. "There are better alternatives for... pets."

He handed him their passports. "Here they are."

The officer checked the passports and then reluctantly gave them back. "Fine. Proceed," was all he said. He gave them one last glare before getting into his vehicle and driving off.

Marco let out a sigh of relief and drove off. He couldn't wait till they were safely far away from here.

Olan stared aimlessly at the road, noticing the sky becoming dark. He figured they wouldn't reach their destination (wherever it was) until maybe a few hours. It wouldn't hurt to sleep.
