Wolfwood tried to avoid being caught but he didn't try too hard, afraid he might kick Menolly on accident. So, instead, he flailed his arms and made all kinds of noise before he was finally dragged under. A second later he popped back up, spluttering and coughing once again while he looked around for Menolly.

Menolly popped her head above water, smiling she blinked the water out off her eyes. She shook her head a bit to get her hair out of her eyes then swam untill she had firm footing to fully regain her breath. She looked back to Wolfwood and oh so innoncetly waved.

How can she look so innocent when she just pulled a Jaws on me and dragged me under? Wolfwood thought idly, smiling a bit and shaking his head. He wasn't going to let her get away with it but he was content to wait it out for now. Patience was key when plotting revenge.

Menolly figured the splashing was taking a break, so she decided to figure this whole swiming thing out. Always staying close to Wolfwood, she just had fun. It took her a few tries, but she finally got floating on her back down; however, she quickly turned her self back to being vertical.
This water stuff was really fun, and so was splashing Wolfwood!

As Wolfwood watched and waited, it became clear to him that he didn't have the heart to get Menolly back for the splashes and the dunks. Instead, he offered to help her learn to swim. "Turn over onto your back and float."

Menolly stopped what she was doing instantly and listended to what Wolfwood had to say. Turn over onto her back? Well, she thought, if Nicolas says to do it, then it must be okay. The only reason for even the thought, was because it felt odd to her. She learned about animals, nothing with wings layed on its back. However, she was not animal, so why was she even thinking about?
Pushing off from the bottom, she propelled her body up and tired to get onto her back; however, she over did it a bit and dunked her head. Once she shook her head and tried again, this time managing to float.

Wolfwood smiled and moved up next to Menolly, stretching his arms out underneath her to give her some support. "Alright, now gently kick your feet," he told her.

Menolly was relieved to feel his arms under her and relaxed more. She listened intently on his instructions then began to follow them, kicking her feet slowly without much force, like was she would do if siting on a desk with her feet hanging down and was bored enough to start kicking. No sharp, strong movements from her feet, not that her movements at anytime could be concidered sharp or strong.

"Perfect. Keep kicking your feet just like that," he told her, all the while slowly lowering his arms and letting her float on her own.

Menolly just just that, kicking her feet the same. It still felt strange to her, to be on her back like. She was starting to feel a bit tired, and hungry. It would take her a bit longer before she mentioned it.

Wolfwood smiled and watched her as her kicking started to propel her through the water. Then he swam after her, deciding it'd be a good idea to be near her in case she panicked or anything. "And now you're swiming. Easy, huh?" ^^

Menolly giggled, this wasn't so hard, "Yeah, easy!" Of course, when she tired to turn her head to look at Wolfwood, she got water in her noise and had to flip so that she could cough and get it out. Shaking her head afterwards, she looked at Wolfwood, "Oppse." With a little laugh she decided to ask, "Are you hungry?" Well she was, but she wanted to check on him first.

When Menolly started to cough, Wolfwood rushed to her side and patted her on the back, helping her get the water out. And when she let out her little laugh, he smiled and hugged her lightly. Knowing full well that she was asking him if he was hungry because she was hungry herself, Wolfwood nodded and suggested, "Why don't we go back to my house and get something to eat?"

Menolly hugged him back, glad for the hug she got. At his question, she nodded and reponded with an excited, "Yeah, that sounds great!" Hugging on to him more, she was glad to be able to get make that hunger go away now.

The demon pae chuckled and gave Menolly a squeeze, amused by her enthusiasm. "C'mon then. I'll give you a piggy back ride," he offered, letting go of her and crouching so she could climb onto his back.
