Madison scooped up a set of bandages, tucking them in along with her first set. You could never have too many bandages. She then checked the safety on her trapping gun, making sure she had a sufficient number of the tightly coiled net packets available to her. That plus Kouki of course, plus her flashlight and a small canteen of water and a few tasteless ration bars... yeah. Yeah, that'd do.

Oh, wait, maybe she should put in a compass too... but she wasn't sure how to read a compass.

Maybe she should stop low-level panicking.

It might help, Kouki said, meekly.

Yeah, yeah. When Ennea came back to her, she gave the pink-haired Hunter a small smile. "Yeah, now I've got two sets. And this," she added, tapping the capture gun tucked into her obi. "Ready as I'll ever be, I guess... though I wish I could take about twenty more bandages. And some of those pill-things from after the Haunted House." She didn't really want to experience that horrible chill again. Ugh.

The crowd just kept growing. Harrison hadn't seen this much of the organization together before, and everyone was busy with equipment and goodbyes. "Guess we're all headed to the same place," Harrison offered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "So. Uh, you know. Good luck out there."

"Yeah, uh." The awkwardness was back in full force. Jordan wasn't quite sure how that had happened. "You too." There was a lot he wasn't saying, questions he hadn't asked. Things that would come later, if they had a later.

He probably shouldn't - no, actually, to hell with that, he did not give a ******** who might be looking or not looking; he put a hand on Harrison's shoulder and kissed him lightly, no more than a short brush of lips, but he felt better for not having suppressed the impulse. "Don't die," he said, and grinned.

Tedan grinned at the offer of bandages and quickly grabbed a roll for himself, sticking it into a pocket. "Hey, no one's planning on dying here," he assured Gale, giving the other trainee a thumbs up. There was no way he was planning on that outcome. No way. He didn't think Bix was either, or anyone really.

Glancing from one to the other of them, he murmured, "If they want us to get in teams again ... you guys wanna stick together?"

Harrison felt himself blushing, even though he knew it was stupid.

"Yeah," he managed his own grin, "You neither."

Yes, Vanessa was actually smiling. Clearly the apocalpyse was coming. If not from this mission, than just from the fact that the eternally serious Life trainee was actually giving someone a legitimate smile. "You're welcome, of course. You've earned such praise." Don't worry Wilson, Volt is just as confused and happy as you are. In fact, he was humming in her mind, his worries washed away by the fact that his Hunter was actually pleased with someone's results for once.

Vanessa glanced back to Aleister, her smile shifting into a more commonly seen, almost-smile. "I thought as much. I was Epsilon-Three. I thought I remembered you from our awakening." Her memory had not failed her, apparently.

To Aleister's most peculiar question, Vanessa's expression melting into one of vague curiosity. "I suppose so. We'd need to train until all of the fat we got from said cake came off afterward though. Some celebrating would be understandable though." Oh, someone was suggesting something fun? Clearly Vanessa does not understand the purpose of this idea. Please explain to her how it would help them survive.

Volt, on the other hand, was silently headwalling at her lack of enthusiasm toward the idea of feasting on cake.

Rep texted Clerise back with a smirk. He knew she'd understand his tone at least, she of all people always did.

To Clerise :
You too, you crazy b***h. ;D

He looked baffled for a moment, derailed from what the hell he'd been doing before, wandering off in search of Harrison, intending to demand the guy watch his back in the fights to come.

Finally he found him and incidentally Jordan and his smile froze.

And then vanished completely.

Allan chuckled as Mercedes thanked him and ruffled her hair as she went up to grab the bandages. "Just doing my job, now get out there and make your taichou proud." Trainees were seriously just like kids, it actually made him sad to see them going off into battle, but then again, everyone had to grow up.

He shed a single tear just thinking about the day that the trainees would leave his bosom to go into the wide world, all on their own and-

- "Um, Allan-taichou sir, they're doing a quick debriefing, one last word, for all division leaders and assistants." The Sun Hunter seemed a little jittery, and for good reason.

The Sun division lead gave the trainees a smile and a wave before he was off to join the little pow-wow off in the distance, hopefully in time before three of the division leads manage to take each other out before the mission had actually started.

- At this point all division lead/ assistant NPCS have pulled out very quickly, though it shouldn't take long before everyone is ready to go...

Still nervous for the mission as Tori was ready but hearing to what Allen was offering for them to use was a good idea none the less not to pass up. "Come on Reine, lets go get some of those bandages that Allen is offering for use to use as one can never be too careful," Tori said as she encouraged Reine to follow her over to were Allen was and took a set of bandages for herself. Feeling slightly better that she had some bandages and put it into her pocket next to her little note book for safe keeping. "Thank you Allen-Taichou," Tori said to the sun lead.

Harrison had really meant to talk to Jordan. He wanted to give him a proper lecture about how he shouldn't hang back, like he did at the last lair. And if they got the orders to retreat, Harrison wouldn't wait around for him, and Jordan shouldn't either.

That people were going to die, and sentimental stuff was just going to get more people killed.

But with Jordan standing there looking back at him, Harrison lost his nerve. He didn't want to say any of that stuff. The grin faltered. ...The hell with it.

He pulled Jordan forward and covered Jordan's lips with his own.

His mood instantly lifted at the mention of cake. Cake? Cakecakecakecake? Anything sweet sounded really great at the moment, but too bad he was probably going to die or at least severely injured to the point of near-death. [Sounds lovely.] I know.

It was still weird to see Vanessa smiling, but Wilson didn’t mind at all. “You look really nice when you smile. You should smile more often,” he commented, smiling. His smile turned quizzical at the mention of training. Why would they need to trai—Oh. “I don’t think that should be a concern. We pretty much train every day, right?” At least, they should be.

Deryk gave a rather nervous grin towards Mercedes and Molly in turn. After seeing the leaders and assistants whisk away, he fidgeted in place a little longer. They were probably going to get started pretty soon, which did not sit well with him.

Looking around, he managed to spot Wilson within the area.

"Ah. H-hey. Good luck out there. Let's all try to get out of this alive. Yes?" he offered his fellow death trainee.

The second kiss surprised Jordan, but it was a good surprise. They didn't have much time left, so it was shorter than Jordan would have liked; but something in him settled at the wordless confirmation that this was okay, that neither of them minded other people knowing about it.

When they drew back, he said quietly, "Be careful out there." Anything further seemed mushy, or maybe unnecessary; there was still sorting out to do, but they could do that afterwards. "You ready for this?"

There was a loud whistle to catch the trainee's attention as Allan waved to them in the distance.

It was time.

He wanted to look away, he wanted to look away at the start, but some cruel twist of nature meant that he could not. And then Harrison..everything simply slowed to a halt for him. He'd been the stupid gullible idiot, strung along as much as necessary, too oblivious to see what was going on.

All his ******** life he kept people at arms reach and he realised now it was for a /reason/. This was long past a twisted fluttery stomach and somewhere into the region of what he could believe was actual pain. How the ******** could he have been so ******** stupid?

He wanted to leave. It was his first instinct always, when he couldn't cope. Quit. And he couldn't cope now, ******** hell he couldn't cope at all.

He turned on his heel and put as much distance as possible between himself and them. As soon as he had his back to the entire gathered group, only then crossing his arms and closing his eyes against the inexplicable tears that threatened to make him look a ******** fool in front of everyone.

He just needed a minute.

And then there wasn't even THAT

He had to take a deep steadying breath, man up and move the ******** out. It felt almost impossible.
