Recovered from his tumble, Otto dove into the fray again. This time he managed to take out four 'Hollows' as he threw Tenya forward. He was open to attack while he waited for the boomerrang to fly back to him, receiving minor damage from swarming undead.

Jude just kept plugging along his brain mostly shutting down as he just let himself get lost in the desire to survive the onslaught. A few converged on him and it seemed then that he just really let loose. Hitting one down then another and the next until they practically exploded off of him and he simply charged at the next one.
Something about this was almost cathartic. Dealing out pain instead of feeling it. It was nice.
Yom offered a small happy giggle. She wasn't going to complain! The charging up was nice and the fact that he wasn't really sad at the moment was a bonus!

Another of them came forward, startling Sydney because his chin was hanging by a thread and he was reaching for her with a mostly skeletal hand. He scratched her as she fumbled with her crossbow--

"THAT'S THE SPIRIT, SQUAD MEMBERS. DON'T FORGET TO USE YOUR SHIKAI," In the not too far distance, Allan could be seen swinging his weapon and, yelling a few choice instructions. "Focus your energy on your weapon and then BAM." To emphasize his point, he sent a few undead scattering with what was either his charged attack, or simply another fancy move as per usual. The Sun Hunter might as well have asked the trainees to use the Force, with his extremely helpful and inspirational instructions.
There were also a couple of other choice words that was drowned in the distance and the roar of hundreds of creatures reaching for the Sun Hunter - though most by now seemed to be trying their very best to slowly limp the other direction - that sounded something like fragments of the words "Shinigami" "The Will of the Spirit King" "Soul Society" and possibly "pet cat".
The ground was also shaking a little more than earlier, though it might have been a result of thousands of undead trampling the ground or Allan and his assistant's rather enthused attacks, or very possibly it might have been a warning to something else. USING A CHARGED ATTACK - If you have enough charges for a charged attack, you can either save it for later OR use it now. Roll the charged attack and disregard all other dice roll mechanics. If your charged attack hits, you manage to knock out as many undead as you hit for damage in your charged attack. If you miss, then you don't hit anything, and proceed as usual. - Otherwise, other attacks can proceed as normal, trainees can attack with discretion.

As Wash reluctantly shrugged on their 'uniforms' (gratefully hiding his shameful manties from sight), their new leader started...well. Carrying on about more random s**t.
He was only half paying attention until the guy suddenly summoned a portal and everyone started swarming in. VERY late to the party, Wash was one of the last straggling hunters to jump through - which turned out to be a good thing, as there seemed to be a veritable army of corpses teeming to destroy them all.
He batted off a few with Sally, but one of them clamped down on his other arm.
"AUGH!"
What the ********. Well, ok. Ok. Just. Ahahaha...Ok. Sally was torn between laughter at their bizarre new boss and the sudden gravity of the situation.

He knocked one down only to get distracted by their 'motivational speaker' because he was trying to figure out what he was talking about. Jude got hit three times wincing with each hit trying to push them back. Augh. Stupid. Everything is stupid.

It was about now Rin noticed that Rep was very likely getting himself killed in his seething rage. A choice he wasn't allowed to make. Byr swinging she raced down the trail of carnage William created and gave several zombies encroaching on his personal space a powerful smack with Byr's blade - taking out six total in her charge to aid Rep.
"Calm your s**t a*****e!" She scolded Rep loudly, Byr drawn to go again.
"You are no use to us dead." She continued but less loudly as she tried to squeeze between him and an encroaching zombie. She tried kicking it backwards - not taking it out but giving her a chance to tighten her grip on Byr again. Better make the next swing count.

Yom let out a sudden happy sound as Jude geared up and used his charged attack hitting one then another and then the next. He just wanted to take down as many as he could. Just ignore the 'motivational' speaking and just keep hitting all the things. He was motivated enough to do it on his own, damn it.
Jude huffed a sigh as he pushed one away at the end of his attack.

Perhaps Saya was really getting this shikai and spirit business. Prompto, her large curved dagger, felt lighter in hre hands, swinging him around with a momentum she was starting to learn to follow with. Sparring had been one thing, a battle was another sort. She heard one coming up behind her, her fingers unlocking the crosbow handle to point and shoot as she turned around.
This time was a really lucky hit, or hits to be more accurate. She spun her large curved blade around, hitting a series of four undead with a surprising accuracy. Unfortunately, accuracy and speed didn't go hand in hand, several attacks getting to her before she finished the round.
Sorry Prompto! She apologized, the fear barrier he was putting up, as Marcus said, was taking much more damage than she would have liked.
She could hear the struggle in his voice, affirming that he was fine.

Otto didn't have room to raise his weapon. Trying not to panic, Otto fled from the swarms of zombie things. Easier said than done, as many of them swatted at the retreating trainee, adding more scratches to him.

Jude had taken a glance around and then saw Otto had been struggling. They were supposed to look out for each other after all at least that is what he used as an excuse for the odd surge of protectiveness that came over him as he moved closer to Otto's location and moved to fend off the undead that were still trying to get at him. He said nothing as he simply attacked the foe in front of him.
Otto owed him nothing. He was just doing his job.
