How the hell--well the little pig WAS a life hunter, so he supposed it made a little bit of sense... But the big black man found himself heading over, regardless, standing on the other side of Ralph and leaning back against the wall. "Get lost going to the portal?" he asked the other male quietly.

He knew this wasn't going to end well. The second Lars's obnoxious voice had cut through the air he knew exactly how Ferdinand would feel about it and had moved back to the Sun Division leader to work his quick subduing. Not that John was foolish enough to keep the man wrangled in for too long, just long enough to watch the 'children' run around after their escaped critter.
But then Ferdinand was moving and John....John didn't follow. The last thing he needed to do was give Lars the satisfaction of having it seem like he was backing the Sun Division's Lead up. Not that he didn't agree with Ferdinand's rage - he hadn't known Roy, but he could tell it weighed on the other man. John patted Liam on the shoulder and shrugged a bit. Someday Ferdinand would just reach out and throttle Lars completely.
He just hoped it wasn't in front of all of these people, though the taunting look it seemed the Mist Hunter was throwing around would be pressing at that line. Still, he didn't move to play hero just yet.
If the line was pushed, yes, John would step in and break it up before anybody got so much as a bruise that wasn't from Ieyasu jabbing someone in the Solar Plexus to ground them.

Fifteen years ago, Ferdinand had been the same Sun Hunter, eager to jump into the fray, loud, someone whom Liam easily remembered as the kid who always made John cry. Time had passed. People had changed-
- For the most part. If there was one thing that changed the least with the passage of time, it was the memories.
"Fifteen minutes, for any Hunter still preparing." The Death division leader muttered. It was going to be the last night for many Hunters this night. No, he was personally escorting them to suicide, though how many were fooled by his long speech and glossed words he did not know. The mission was a thinly covered veil to describe using Hunters as distractions. Using them as bait.
Which is why, as he looked from the Sun division leader to that Mist Hunter - Lars - he made eye contact lastly with John before turning his back away.
After all, in fifteen minutes, there would be no difference between kings, queens and pawns.

Eliza frowned at the amount of talking going on around her surely there was no reason for so much chatter to be going on. What if something happened and no one heard it due to all the sound everyone was making. Looking out at all the people she narrowed her dark blue eye's slightly. She was not used to being in crowds as large as this so many hunters in one place made her edgy. Those horsemen where up to something bad and they were going to stop it. They had no other choice they were the only defense to protect the human world from the creatures. She looked back at the group she was closest to. why could none of them understand her need to be quiet?
Sighing she tried to listen through the sound that everyone was making. she couldn't gather information that she needed to make her own decisions about what was happening with all of this noise. She was starting to get a bit angry at her own inability to understand what to do with all the people around her. though this was only shown by the slight twitch of her brow. Wait... Only 15 minutes left? she wasn't stupid she knew those going through the portal would be going to their deaths. So many of them.... Out of two hundred how many of them would be left after this night was over.

At the announcement, Velda paused, and then hunched down slightly, more fiercely focused that before, though she did take a moment to scoot closer to her nearest heat source. She took a small, flat rune from her pocket and worked on placing it properly inside the toy's casing.

Heidi couldn't help but just stare at Velda even as Liam gave a very clear announcement. She was prepared, she was ready. ...Did..did she just..? Heidi quietly stepped over to peer down at Velda's little upgrade. "..Huh. Interesting." She bent her knees to get a better look without intruding too much. "You know, I brought you a souvenir from my last mission. I brought it with me though! Do you still want it before we...uh..." She glanced Liam's way. ".. Go?"

"I err. I didn't get much sleep either." he grudgingly admitted. He'd spent an embarassingly long time just staring at the ceiling and thinking about how he /should/ have been sleeping rather than tossing and turning and generally fidgeting. "I was surprised cause I normally sleep like a rock."
He felt his stomach clench at the announcement of fifteen minutes to go. Fifteen minutes, it felt like such a short time and set him almost on the brink of panic. But he couldn't lose his cool, he was no longer a trainee, this wasn't that first mission, he had to be immovable. He took a deep calming breath and nodded to himself. "I think adrenaline will probably make up for us both." he gave her a reassuring smile.
There'd be plenty of time for sleeping later.

From where he had arrived, the young man was letting his gaze go about the cages. For once, his hair was down, those golden eyes slightly closed as he leaned against the wall. The buzz of talk around him was shocking, and he tried his best to ignore it, mostly because, hell, there wasn't much he could do. Alexi was a Life Hunter. Though he could protect himself pretty damn well, he was mostly here for barriers and healing. Hence the bandages and barrier dagger resting at his hip. Hell, the young man knew whatever the ******** they were about to do was suicide. Honestly, he didn't care. He was ready to make this happen. He was ready to protect his fellow hunters, and at least TRY to keep them alive...and himself....as long as he could. Twirling the weapon in his fingers, he simply let himself mull.
Glancing around, he waited....What would come next for them? Was there much else left but for the mission to occur?

Fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes and the mission would start. Aki looked around, mayhem and chaos seemed rampant. Out of the corner of her eye, the girl was aware of a couple hunters wrapping up relationships, handing out gifts, saying goodbye. She didn't have any goodbyes, didn't have any farewells to say or anything really. Aki was prepared to go. In the end, she was a hunter. She fought. She looked around for Nico but could not find him.
"Has anyone seen Nico?" She shouted out.

The announcement of time made Ralph cringe. With a lack of weapon charges, he was pretty much a sitting... Pig. Well, at least- WHY WAS SHE SCOOTING CLOSER?
Piglet let out a tiny squeak as he felt the gap close and a warmth by his arm, sweaty palms clenching as he tried to look forward and pretend like everything was okay.
Shut up Simon! Ugh. Maybe Runic hunters had it better after all. Speak of the devil. "Uh... Yeah. I got lost." Piglet mumbled in that quiet, unnoticeable fashion. Which was a total lie. He'd actually been in the middle of beating the elite 4. "Heheh."
There was a look of rage that slowly developed on the life hunter's face as his weapon continued to pester him like his mom often did at home, until it finally looked like he'd pop a blood vessel."GODDAMMIT SIMON WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP?!"
Oh.
He'd said that out loud.
Immediately his sweat caked hands covered his chapped mouth, eyes widening to the size of saucers. Oh what had he just done?

Fifteen minutes. Jared had fifteen minutes until his final mission. He could spend those fifteen minutes doing a whole bunch of things. He could continue to be mad at Lars and sulk the time away, but Ferdinand *insert "my hero"* had taken care of that problem.
He could continue with mindless chatter about something or other with any Hunter around, trying to make these last anxious moments a little less worse.
Or maybe, he could spend the last fifteen minutes praying for repentance for all the terrible things he'd done in life. All the people he'd insulted, all the crass jokes he'd cracked, all the women he'd - oops. Keep the thoughts PG 13 there, bud.
Then, he saw Heidi. He'd seen her around a few times on the island, but never had much interaction with her. That was about to change.
He strode over to where she was kneeling by Velda, grabbed her around the waist, and dip kissed her. Maybe he'd go for a ten minute repentance prayer, if he wasn't shoved off and slapped.
Which would be totally worth it.

All Pepper had to do was wait. This wasn't anything new to her, but all of the excitement energized her and the anticipation made her fidgety. She couldn't stay still at all, right now.

He should have teased the guy about it, but Clint, almost shockingly, burst into laughter, instead. But seriously, that--that reaction, he thought, tears threatening, that'd been beautiful. RIGHT in front of his leader!! "Holy s**t, man--" Then, because he'd actually made him laugh in his last fifteen minutes, he decided to do something nice. "Don't tell me to shut up, I'm already shut up, dammit!"

Good. It wasn't just her at least.
But the announcement... Damn. She thought she had more time. She shot him a fleeting panicked look. Please don't make me have to cut the ears off your corpse tonight. Okay?
She sighed resignedly.
"Hey Dave." She spoke after the long awkward pause.
"I'm still not done learning things from you. So... uhh... if you die. I'm coming after you and dragging you back kicking and screaming." Her following glare... well... she seemed to mean it.

Pigpig's outburst startled Velda a bit as she popped the casing back together with a sharp snap. Eyes wide she turned to look at him in concern. She thought about it for a moment, and then leaned over to place the Runic Tamagotchi in his hands, with a whispered, "For plus 3 Luck."She gave him a quick peck on the cheek before she got up to make Heidi give her presents. Sadly this was not to be as she was now getting dramatic makeouts. Velda pouted slightly, but decided to leave her be, as there was Henry now, with a bundle of clothes and an irritated look on his face. Sexy Cocaine Should Piglet use the tamagotchi, just post quote me for the GM'd effect!
