I'm learning Mandarin. I can say single words pretty well, but remembering all the tones when you have to string them together in a sentence is still kinda hard. I should listen to my lesson tapes more often.

I grew up speaking English and a Language I created when I was seven (gosh it was the dorkiest of dorky languages ever, it sounded close to Finnish though 0.o)
and my dads side lived in Colorado so I got to pick up a few Vietnamese and Spanish phrases and words, then my moms fam is Swedish and has Finnish friends so I learned quit a bit of that before finally giving up.
now I study chinese at home full time (Mandarin Dialect, sometimes Canto)
^_^ I am mostly Irish though, which is weird when I speak Chinese LOL

crying i use to be able to speak it when i was a child, but not anymore. i was so young, i don't even remember which language it was. this is one thing i can NEVER forgive myself for. crying

Im taking Elementary Chinese right now =3
We are learning how to speak and write Mandarin.
Ive always been terrible at learning languages, so Im hoping to do well in Chinese since I have always wanted to learn it...and Im in this class of my own free will haha.

im fluent in mandarin chinese, can write and read too..but i dunt understand other dialects apart from tat^^

i can speak mandarin pretty well for someone whos never grown up in asia(thats what people tell me xd )
but i can't write or read a lot of it. i can only read the really simple words like 1-10,you,me,hand,heart,etc. i tried learning it, but it's too much >.<
i should have learned when i was younger lol
