"Researcher?" Izaya repeated, his attention brought back to the lovely young witch before him. "Ah, well, you could say that...but I do more observation than research. I find that books don't usually hold the kind of information I tend to seek out." Like seeing the look on someone's face after he'd stolen and then given back their pokemon.
"It's my favorite hobby, as well as something of a career, I suppose. I'm more of an info broker," he added, neglecting to mention that his services were put toward the benefit of a single organization these days. "What about you? Do they have politics among you nobles on Grande Île?"
He nodded at her statement. Luke had been the same way when he'd first met him. These blissfully naive aristocrats stood out like sore thumbs in this city. It was a wonder they hadn't been robbed or taken advantage of yet. "I'm sure. It must be very different from your homeland, this place. I'm assuming you came alone, judging by the lack of attendants at your side?" He glanced about them, as if searching. "At least it's a opportunity to learn more about the wide world and the inhabitants of it. Plus, it beats being stuck at home, sheltered and coddled like a prized possession, wouldn't you agree...?"
As he'd been only using what he'd heard about nobles to feel his way through the conversation so far, Izaya guessed Natalia would know more about the circumstances he was speaking of better than he did himself. When she added the title 'Sir' to his name, however, he couldn't help a laugh. First he was dubbed a superhero, and now a knight? If only this poor girl knew. "You're welcome! Very well; Natalia it is. On the condition that you'll address me the same, informal show of friendship, of course. I can assure you, 'Sir' is far too high a title for someone of my standing - in any region."
Darn; he'd been caught staring. She was a perceptive one, this noble. Perhaps such skills had developed in order to secure as much information about the outside world as her sheltered household would allow. Recomposing his enigmatic smile, he tilted his head slightly. "Mmm? Oh, you have a keen eye. I can't say about the one leading in the purple gown, but the lady in the blue and gold happens to be an old acquaintance of mine. Now that you bring it up, she is actually one of the few individuals I'm aware of that originated in Grande Île. Why? Is she familiar to you?"
He hesitated, sensing the blonde witch's interest in the couple. As much as he wanted to go over and demand answers from Asch himself, he knew that wasn't wise at the moment. "I would introduce her to you myself, but alas, we just had something of a quarrel prior to the dance. She must be quite perturbed with me at the moment; I couldn't bear to have her transfer that contempt onto you by association with myself."
Just then, the hero stopped, catching sight of more red and green. And he had just been thinking of him, too. What were the odds? "Well, well! If it isn't Luke fon Fabre!" Yes, he'd suggested to Luke not to mention his surname, but under the circumstances, Izaya just felt like blowing his cover. Maybe Asch or Aila would show a little life in them at the mention of the name instead of just shuffling around like the undead. Plus, if any Rockets were familiar with the aristocratic family and took it as a hint, maybe they could get some thieving work done before the night was up. Nakura hadn't forgotten Mieu.
As the music stopped, the hero gracefully led the witch toward the fairy boy. "Now, here's a fellow aristocrat I can introduce you to, though you may already know him. Natalia, please meet Mr. Luke fon Fabre. As I recall, he too arrived from the Grande Île not too long ago. Perhaps the both of you were acquainted once upon a time...?" Without bothering to ask, Izaya reached for Luke's free hand (the other presumably still in Rosie's grasp) to take Natalia's in a handshake - or a hand-kiss; whatever these nobles were used to.

(Frost/Xander/Punch bowl)
Lasi didn't really get it; he was being helpful! Why did the strange metal man not want the delicious cakes? Oh! Maybe he hadn't realised what the bat was offering him. Humans did tend to jump to odd conclusions sometimes; maybe he was afraid of an attack. The Golbat toddled closer, though wary of the staff, opening his 'friendly' grin wider. Look! I bring cakes! He looked a little hurt when Frost called for his trainer to come and 'control' him, but that just meant he had to try harder... Or something. Maybe offer to Frost's friend too. Ah, that worked. If Frost saw his friend with a cake, he would want one too! Humans were fickle like that... The pink bat began switching his offering from Frost to Xander and back. If anyone else showed an interest, he'd offer to them too! Perfect!
---- (Near tables, near punch bowl)
Tambrey was pretty content, or at least consigned, to sitting where she had ended up, watching the dancing and goings on upon the dance floor. She'd been toying idly with her cup as she watched, unknowingly disfiguring it and causing it to become misshapen in her grip while it turned. Her attention was roused, abruptly, by Frost's call to control her pokemon. At first, it didn't really register. Pokemon? Only Lasi was here and he couldn't cause much... Oh. She'd looked in that direction. The bat was... approaching with an open mouth. Seriously? Lasi was attacking people now?! She stood up sharply... too sharply... And instantly regretted it. "Ow..." She wobbled, closed her eyes, then opened them again, feeling a little more steady. At least now she could see that it was just an unwelcome, slightly disgusting, cake vending... She tried to make her way back through the crowd and tables to the punch table. "Hold on! I'm coming! Lasi! Stoppit!" She called, sidestepping to avoid a couple of people. "Excuse me, sorry..."

(PUNCH BOWL!)
There were quite a few people gathered around the punch bowl, and none of them familiar, at least that she could tell with the costumes and things. "U-um... e-excuse me..." Izumi squeaked out, standing meekly waiting for someone to let her through to the beverages, barely audible over the music. This could take a while.

The darker twin looked befuddled by Umbreon's chastising. (what team)...?> she asked quietly. Mairu protested cheerily. She pounced on Umbreon's back playfully as he walked, or at least tried to before slipping off and tumbling head over tail. In an instant, though, she was back on her feet and hurrying to catch up with the others.
(whose)...?> Kururi wondered. (enemies)...?> It seemed unlikely that Team Rocket's enemies would look for them at a Halloween costume party like this one. After all, wasn't everyone here - trainers and Rockets alike - just around to have a good time?
Mairu giggled. She batted a paw at his tail as she chased after him, Kururi watching her curiously.
(nicer than Izaya)...> Kururi added. (Izaya can die)...> She, like her sister, really didn't concern themselves too much about their trainer's fate, as long as they could still be a part of Team Rocket. He wasn't a very good trainer as it was. (your trainer)...adopt (could be ours)...>
Mairu clarified. she cried, running up to his side and making a leap for his ear every few steps as she and her sister frolicked about him. real run!>
The girls stopped when the eeveeloution turned to regard them, though Mairu, having finally caught up with Umbreon, fell to the floor after leaping once more for his ear. They didn't seem concerned in the slightest by whatever was worrying Umbreon.

@ Dancers, Izaya, Natalia Luke attempted to act according to Rosie's advice, gradually loosening his movements to suite the rhythm of the music. He felt silly, but he wouldn't be able to say without lying that it wasn't fun. He was interrupted, however, when someone suddenly called his name - his full name. He turned to the responsible party in both confusion and irritability and narrowed his eyes at the face he saw. That... whatever-was-his-name. The creep who'd try to buy Mieu. Suddenly his wrist was snatched, and he immediately jerked it away, "Hey, hands off." Ah right, he'd been a bit ignorant of personal space boundaries last they'd met as well, hadn't he? It wasn't until he heard the name that he realized there was someone there other than touchy-creepy-weirdo, and green eyes immediately locked on the witch. "Natalia?!" What in the world was she doing there? _______ @ Asch, Izaya Indeed, Aila presumed, it had been an evening for thought for the both of them thus far. Izaya's exclamation of Luke's name drew her attention; she'd intended to keep an eye out for the boy before she'd been distracted. Eyes narrowed in a vague sense of suspicion. What was he doing bringing such attention to the fon Fabre heir? It didn't seem that Izaya would be so altruistic as to call the noblewoman's attention away from Asch for Asch's own benefit and nothing else...

@Aila, Izaya, Natalia
Naturally Izaya's shouting got Asch's attention as well, and his eyes slid in that direction with Aila's. However, he didn't make it obvious as he didn't want to attract attention to himself.
Asch pulled Aila closer to himself and leaned in as he spoke quietly to her, "Quel est cet imbécile fait?" His eyes remaining on the group in question now. However, he knew that Natalia could understand them, and didn't want to chance her overhearing him.
However, this was convenient. Perhaps, with the revelation of The Idiot to Natalia, Asch would now be off the hook.

Luxury bit her lip. She wasn't sure how much she should say, or really wanted to say. "Just... Because." Was all the grunt answered. She wouldn't tell him about the abuse she'd suffered growing up. She wouldn't tell him about the bruises from the playground, the bruises from her own brothers. She wouldn't tell him about the midnight skating because it was the only time the park was empty and it was safe.
She wouldn't tell him how much she hated men.
Instead, she just shook her head after he short reply, and mumbled something about not caring about being wanted before her world started spinning. Is this what dancing was? She'd only seen dancing in movies... and those were movies shown at school. This... this was real life. Was dancing the same? Seemed kind of the same. And Shadow seemed to know what he was doing, so she followed his lead and prayed she wouldn't step on his feet. Or hers. Or both.
"Thought you didn't dance?"

((rosie, sheena, luke, dancers)) Charlotte slid further into the dance floor at Rosie's friendly challenge. She had never taken a dance lesson but it was always fun when she allowed steps to flow. The music playing was actually quite helpful towards that and soon she was moving around without a care, dancing and music always seemed to do that to her. Footloose and fancy free Charlotte giggled and faced the Rosie and Sheena specifically. It was her turn to challenge the other. "Come on girls show me what youre made of." She playfully gestured with her hands to 'bring it on'. Rosie's spirit certainly was infectious, Charlotte was just beginning to get into her party flow.

"Alright. I can live with that," he answered, somehow understanding her desire for secrecy. Not everyone wanted to share everything about themselves. He could respect that. No point in dragging down a perfectly good atmosphere, either.
"I don't. You're the one who was dancing," Shadow replied with a laugh as the song came to an end. "Pretty light on your feet, too." What had she been mumbling before he'd given her a twirl...?
"Sorry...were you saying something before?" he asked, wondering if she'd said what he'd thought she'd said. "You don't care about being wanted...?

(Presea)
If the girl had asked to interview Shizuo he would have only agreed to do a few questions anyway so it might have been a good decision to not ask. But on the other hand he wouldn't have gotten mad or annoyed at her either. But he couldn't read her thoughts nor did she ask so the zombie dressed man was completely oblivious to that.
The question to dance surprised him though. Not many would ask him to dance(unless it was a certain troll...) and normally he was the one turned down when he asked other(not something he did often though). "Sure, why not. It is a dance after all." he said after a moments thought then waved a hand towards the dance floor in invitation.

(Izaya, Asch, Alia, Luke)
Natalia bounced Nakura's words around her head as she thought of how different the man was or wasn't with the people she had thought of before. "I see of sorts. I am glad you have found something you enjoy as a job, not many find that." she said with a slight nod. She knew quite a few nobles who didn't want to inherit family positions because they found the jobs to be to stifling and not to their taste. "Yes they do. The upper class seems to enjoy creating more and more politic situations practically everyday at times in the years."
The blond got a slight wistful look on her face. "It is indeed very different then Grand Ile. Even somethings that are mostly the same has a different reel to it." It was most certainly almost like being on vacation to another world she supposed. "I came alone yes but I have a few friends that have been here in Kodo for a bit and I plan on soon catching up with them." Maybe... after all Luke didn't seem happy to see her after the first initial second.
Nakura's words about his position brought a small smile to Natalia's lips and she gave a a quiet chuckle. "Very well then. It is a deal." She hadn't really given him a knight title but because of habit with dealing with the people of her home has assigned that to him out of need to address him with out over stepping social boundaries
The green eyed teen looked back over at the two in question for a few seconds then looked back at Nakura. "They both seem familiar in different ways. Though the one leading is the most familiar.". It ever so slightly annoyed her that she couldn't place why the person seemed so familiar, especially since it was at the tip of her tongue. "It's is quite alright, I have met her earlier during the party, at least for a short time." She didn't feel the need to add the fact that she hadn't really talked to the woman either.
When the song ended and the superhero talked about Luke, two red spots appeared on Natalia's cheeks, whether from annoyance or embarrassment it was unclear. Add in the hurt and sadness that flared up in her eyes again and she most likely looked rather out of it, though she quickly pushed back the physical reactions. By the time Nakura lead her over to the red head she looked relatively normal. "Yes we have met. Many, many times."
It was puzzling however that he had changed both his costume and his theme. She wasn't aware that you could even do that with your theme. "Don't looked so shocked Luke, you saw me not five minutes ago and made it perfectly clear I wasn't wanted." No she would not put her hands on her hips and scowl at him like she used to when they were younger. More curious and confusion though was the fact that Luke seemed different from earlier already...

That Golbat was adorable. Xander kept his laughter in at Frost fending off the bat pokemon while he was just trying to be helpful, knowing it wouldn't be a good idea to laugh just yet. When the rather disgusting food was offered to him however a chuckle escaped him. "Thank you but no. Maybe one of the others would like one though." He told the Golbat with a bright smile. Poor Frost was probably going to end up in the shower for an hour when they got back though from the way he looked.
He was about to tell Tambrey it was fine and that her pokemon was just trying to help out but got side tracked when another person walked over. Xander had never seen her before so maybe she wasn't a part of 'Rocket though. "Hello miss." He said to the blue haired angel with a wave. After that he side stepped so she could get to the tables easier. The step just so happened to bring him closer to Frost too...

@ Shizuo
His acceptance had caught Presea off guard. It took a great deal of restraint for her not to blurt out "really?" at him. Though she did fail to mention she wasn't the greatest at dancing. That is, she may have done it once when she was younger, standing on her father's feet. Did that count as dancing? But a glance about the dance floor told her it was ok that she didn't know how. It looked like many of the others didn't either, and they were just moving at random to the music. She could do that.
"Thank you." Why did she thank him? It was just a dance. Hesitantly, she took his hand to dance with him. "Are you from around here?" Idle chatter was ok, right?

@ Dith, Dancing trainers
Mau nodded at Dith's introduction. But as the angel... the... robot angel? As she left, Mau watched with unabashed amusement as the larger man excused himself and went to have words with a big bad wolf.
It also seemed more people were joining the dance floor. Standing here may be in the way. Oh well.

Why had Natalia looked so wistful while talking about her homeland? Hadn't she left it for a reason? Maybe she was just visiting. He would have to ask her later, when less distracting matters were at hand. "It's good you have friends here. Lukey-chan didn't seem to when he first arrived." For all he knew, Luke might have been one of the friends she had been referring to.
At the blonde witch's mention of the neighboring couple, Izaya glanced back at them. So, Asch was familiar to her, was he? That certainly explained a great deal; not to mention that she'd seen Aila earlier. Natalia's emotional display at the mention of Luke's name only served to support the informant's theory, while the female noble's first, hurt words to the red-head finally confirmed it.
Neither Aila's nor Asch's reactions escaped Izaya, who had, of course, been watching for them from the beginning. He couldn't overhear them, though he doubted he would have been able to understand them even if he could. Their body language and subtle changes of expression were enough, however. Clearly the pair were associated to one or more of the nobles the hero had addressed, or at least knew who they were. The pieces of the puzzle were coming together.
"Ah, so you do know each other?" Nakura commented, sounding relieved. "Wonderful! I'm sure you have a lot to catch up on, so I'll leave you two to yourselves - "
What was that obnoxious yelling about? Glancing over to the refreshments, the hero grinned at Frost, who was bravely fighting back a pink Golbat with a mouth full of half-chewed backed goods marinating in its saliva. What a perfect opportunity for a heroic rescue!
"Hold on, innocent civillian! I, the magnificent Human-Lover shall save you!"
With a wink and a salute to the reunited aristocrats, Izaya lept up onto the nearest table and launched himself toward the snack area as if he planned to fly - only to topple forward on Asch and Aila. Mostly Asch.
Accidental (and idiotic) though his actions may have seemed to an average party-goer, the hero had fully intended to crash-land where he did. The agents' sorry excuse for dancing was making him sick, and Nakura had strategically aimed to land on the cross-dresser in the hopes of seperating him from his partner.
Also, the grunt knew better than to invade Frost's personal bounderies while the poor, neurotic man was trying to beat away a pokemon with a staff. He just wanted to add a little more to his mental distress was all, along with using the motive as an excuse. The superhero would probably never make it to the punch table in time, nor did he have any intentions of actually directing the delightful bat pokemon away from Xander's date.
With the heavy dress Asch was now sporting, the grunt figured he wouldn't be able to get away so easily. That, added with the assumption that Asch wasn't likely to keep a sword near him while dancing with a partner made Izaya fairly certain he had caught the teen off-guard. Now all he had to do was get the red-head alone, and to do it all before Shizuo took any real notice of the commotion. Or before anyone else really figured out what was going on, particularly Aila, which would be considerably more difficult.
Attempting to grab Asch's wrists behind him, Nakura mentally weighed his own speed and additional years of experience to the trained skills and honed reflexes of the slightly-younger seventeen-year-old. Tricky. If only he could be sure of where the young man's pokemon were, and how many of them were present...but no time for that now. He leaned close to the 'princess's shoulder while they were still on the floor, whispering words no one else would be able to hear.
"Do anything stupid before we get a chance to talk like rational men, and I'll pulling your wig off for all your 'friends' to see. Complete with backstory." The backstory part was just a bluff, truth be told. He still only had guesses, but he'd figured out the gist of what was going on, and he figured that would be enough to concern the red-headed Rocket. Maybe if he spilled what he'd learned, the others would fill in the blanks. Why Natalia had mistaken Asch for Luke, for one.
He didn't have his switchblade on him thanks to the security at the door, but he always had his words. "Let's get up slowly, walk to the bathroom, and chat calmly in there. You may be my superior in rank, but we're in public and this isn't a mission."

"Heh." Hayes ducked his head slightly, running a hand through his now hatless hair. "Aulus held up a pajama suit, so." He shrugged, studying the other blond with a faint grin. "Had to think fast. Did I just hear you did those wings for Claire?" He indicated the .. well, third-but-not-usually blonde with a motion of his thumb and a more-than-cursory glance at the glowing props, interested now. Knowing Faleen, she wouldn't have just hooked up a bunch of glowsticks.
Dani tipped her chin down and gave Aulus a 'really?' look under the brim of the hat. Then she laughed and swatted him playfully on the arm. "Trust me - if you got him to come out to a place like this? You don't have anything to worry about."
Her brother glanced over. "You telling him lies?"
"Just embarrassing truths." She made a shooing motion and turned back to the scarred man. "So motorbikes. I might be up for a ride some time if that was an offer," she grinned. (Behind her, her sibling rolled his eyes.) "But here's a question. Are you-" Dani pointed at him, almost but not quite poking him in the chest, "-a dancing kind of guy? 'Cause that's what I'm interested in right now."
Hayes caught Aulus' look and shrugged. "Have her home by eleven." He'd determined his partner to be a decent sort, and as an added bonus knew where he lived.
"Dork." Dani plunked the fedora back on his head.

Continuing to dance with Aila, has horrible as it might have been in the superhero's opinion, Asch continued to watch The Idiot, Natalia, and Nakura. However, the red head's eyes widened when the latter launched himself in his direction. Instinctively he pushed Aila out of the way, whether he needed to or not, and was then promptly tackled by the insane "human lover".
Hitting the floor rather uncomfortably, Asch growled at his assailant. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" Although he could have easily fought back, he didn't, and narrowed his when his hands were pinned behind his back. Attacking a man in a dress. Izaya had stooped to a new low.
"You know nothing," Asch hissed back at Nakura, calling his bluff. "You're going to pay for this." This said as Asch pushed himself up slowly as instructed, a deep scowl on his face. However, Izaya would hear a warning growl from an unseen Pokemon in his ear. There was at least one of Asch's around, and it was not pleased or amused in the least.

Izaya was genuinely surprised. While Asch had shown hostility towards the mere laughter of a blonde trainer earlier on in the dressing room, he wasn't even fighting back now. Was it because they were in public? Older though he was, the hero held no illusions that he was any stronger than the teen. It was enough trouble training his pokemon, let alone his own body.
"Hahaha! Spoken like a true hostage. You're right, though; I know nothing. Which is why I need you to fill me in~" the grunt replied cheerfully, adopting a matching smile on his face as Asch slowly rose to his feet. If the audience figured it was all just an act, someone was less likely to say something against it. However, that didn't make Nakura any less aware of the growl in his ear.
Well, at least he knew where Asch's pokemon were now. At least one of them, but from the sound of it, that was all he really needed. After all, 2/3rds of Izaya's pokemon party were off gallivanting somewhere while the remaining one was still inexperienced in the way of battle. Throw in the fact that Asch's dark-types would probably rip him to shreads before Izaya could reach down in his boot to retrieve his pokeball, and that only made the idea all the less attractive.
For now, though, the red-head was listening, and that was the hero's main goal. As they headed towards the men's bathroom, the informant not bothering what they looked like in their costumes, he pushed open the door with his shoulder and led the princess in. "No doubt I'm going to pay for this, but I'd at least like it to be worth it. I think it'd be in your best interests to tell me what I want to know, too."
He released the teen, but remained by the door - maybe to try to block a quick escape on the part of the agent (unlikely) or to have a near-enough escape for himself (more likely). Pulling off his own mask and wig, Nakura turned to Asch in all seriousness. "Judging by the look on your face earlier when you were frantically searching for a new disguise, I'd say this Natalia is pretty special to you. Why else would you be so concerned with what she thought?"
He checked his reflection in a mirror absently. "From what I gathered, the young Luke fon Fabre bears a striking resemblance to you for whatever reason. Unless you were twins seperated at birth, Natalia doesn't seem to be aware of this resemblance. So my question to you, is - " Crimson eyes turned to meet emerald ones. "what is your relation to them?"
Examining his nails, he added, "I can help you, you know. Aren't we on the same team, after all? There's no need to be as stubborn as your partner."
