Pardon, pardon! I keep forgetting that the sticky icons don't change for new posts.
I like all of this (yes, I've read it, I promise) But one small request: Regarding the queen's heart, might I wind up with it for some marginal time? I don't plan on doing anything with it but getting rid of it as quickly as I possibly can, and lamenting that all of the inks in the bag have turned reddish brown, but I'd greatly enjoy it winding up in the bard's satchel, either by accident or trying to hide it.
Also, who is falling in love with what? That arc of conversation seems to have died out without any resolution. And do we have a magic user? That could explain why the Queen doesn't die when her heart is removed. Or, of course, we have the dream defense.
My character is going to either be madly (hoplessly, too) in love with or utterly loathe the Queen. If we go with the latter, can the bard draw on her while she's dead?
Also, I'm not sure if I've done this or not, but I'll assume I've not.
Name: I've no idea... I may just keep Bastien, since that's my user name and all. Names come last, but I'll have one soon. for my character, the name is actually important, since that's what he'd be called by. That or Bard, though that would usually only be used by the royalty. Sex:: M Court/Thieves: Court Personality:: [The Bard] has impeccable manners, and is quite the courtly gentleman, though he is to speak mainly in double entendres and puns. He's fond of music and literature, which is why he took the job he has, but is also a proficient dancer and general entertainer, which he learned on the job from some presumably deceased jester. While he loves writing, reading, and playing music, he hates other aspects of his job, such as tutoring the young king (which I'm just kind of assuming he has a hand in) and entertaining the nobles. He was a fairly easygoing guy, but getting performance has grown to irritate him, so now he's rather jaded. He's rather confused by his upbringing as a gentleman and his post as a fool (as he sees it), and often has difficulty deciding which to act on. He likes writing on the castle walls in places where no one will see it. Appearance: Working on it! List three [3] ideas you have for you character: 1. He's either going to hate or love the queen, I think. As long as no one has issue with that. 2. He could possibly leave his bag laying around, prompting someone to try and use it as a hiding spot for the queen's heart temporarily, while they raid the snack bar or something. Much gruesome hilarity to follow. 3. He could get caught drawing a particularly unflattering caricature of a noble or the Prince behind a tapestry and nearly get killed.

I'm running on sleep deprivation from the past two days so I'll see if I remember everything I was going to say while I was catching up >.> So Tatiana and the Prince will get into an argument, perhaps instigated by the heart because Tatjana locates it but the Prince insists that he will be the one to steal it (because he's so proud of his abilities.) Their argument will result in two things: 1. (a)Their cover will be blown and they split up to evade the guards. Tatiana is caught by the Queen's Knight and imprisoned, leading the Duchess to free her... (b)Their argument draws attention, maybe even their duel causes a commotion, and in order to keep the Prince from being capturing Tatiana draws the guards off on her own while knocking the Prince from the room or something, because even though they have been fighting they are still close friends and she doesn't want to see him captured. The Duchess can then still free her... The Prince, then, while evading capture will have to hide the heart -or- could lose the heart temporarily. 2. (a) The prince realizes that he has to hide the heart so he can escape and decides to put it somewhere that he judges to be relatively easy to retrieve when he returns - that place being the inside of the Bard's lute. In the commotion of the Queen's heart being stolen and the Knight chasing thieves, the Bard would be distracted enough for the Prince to get the heart inside. (b) In escaping, the Prince will throw the heart up into the air among the guests to create enough chaos that he can escape from the Knights. In this chaos the Bard will retrieve the heart, either by using his music to soothe the crowds or by charisma. I understand that you're very busy with the Halloween event, but I just wanted to let you know that you'll be the final co-host to post your form with your Avi and your ideas for your character. Whenever you're ready (even if it's a week from now) we'll go over them right away and sort it out with the other ideas. I have the utmost confidence in you! Remember that the most important thing about the Ball is that it's for fun, for both guests and hosts, so you never need to worry about if you'll be able to 'do something right' because there is no right or wrong. I do want to clear up any doubts or confusion: The Queen's heart will be an "object" and not a literal heart. It will be a magical theft, and stored inside of a locket or jewelry box, or another small item such as that. The Queen won't die because this is a dream world. Instead, while her heart is stolen, it will affect her emotionally -- however Spotted feels is best for her character -- not physically. Another reason for getting character ideas out and in the air is because I do want to do a practice RP, but it will be smoother if we have an idea of our characters first. It will be a basic hangout RP based on the same setting as the Room will be with the same characters. Either when Epcot is ready with a character or after the Halloween event I will post it. Until then, feel free to try RPing your character in some of the Ball RP events! Also!! I want to do something with our room soon in Barton, but I haven't decided if it will be a holiday thing or if it will be just for fun. If you guys have an idea of your availability for such an RP'd even please post it in the Character Profiles thread that Spotted set up (so it doesn't get lost in all these pages) and I'll take a look at it. If you have ideas for what sort of RP'd even we should do let me know! Right now I'm thinking of doing something for christmas in December, but it can't conflict with existing Ball events. There will be some contests but nothing so big as the Ball, and the setting won't be exactly what we've planned (because I don't want to spoil anything from our beautiful room setting) but will be a medieval castle with a forest near-by for our thieves~

Kind of like Tangled whee The plot's really developing and is turning out much better then when we were just starting getting ideas on it! So,once we're finished with characters what will be focusing on next? Setting again, backstory, etc.?

Brilliant! I love this idea. And it really does fit in with the dream land theme. But, I do want her[Ze Duchess] do eventually reveal her nobility to everyone..... Even though, for the sake of her family's name, no one knows until then.
That is, if there's still room for planning ^^'

We'll wait to sort out the Setting until we get a few drafts and sketches from artists based on the ideas we've shared so far. That could be as soon as a week from now or it could be a month, depending on the results :3 Once we've settles on all our characters we'll compare all the "what I want to happen" and see what we can link up and where. Ideally, there won't be anyone not getting something they wanted to happen. If we can make it happen by "crossing the streams" with other hosts then that would be best, since once the ball begins it can be difficult to achieve certain ends, but if we can't link it all then that's alright too. Then we move onto the plot itself and we'll work off a plot outline. We'll keep it as simple as possible to allow for the greatest amount of flexibility with guests and scheduling. That should take a little while to finish, but once we're done with that we'll see where we can fit in the Setting and Contests smile

of course smile When I said she'll rescue Tatiana I was referring to your post where you mentioned she'll reveal her nobility to do it? unless my lack of sleep is confusing me and that's not at all what you were talking about.

Would they be invited to the castle for a special event or what? I've been confused on this for a while.

Yeah, it'll be a party of sorts hosted by the Queen (officially) in her castle~ The rest depends on the main plot; if she's aware of the other rooms and we're actively trying to make ours as great as the others, if she's oblivious to the fact that we're all in a dream, or even if there's an ulterior reasoning behind the ball!

That's sound great! So question: I want to be actively involved in crossovers, and I thought, maybe I could go visit and make my "ball" better than "their ball"...? Anything? I've also got this idea that my heart could belong to the locket, and I must wear it around my neck at all times, and the Prince just swipes it during the feast (second day?) And I love the idea of the bard taking the heart, maybe trying to give it back to the queen *coughcough secret crush coughcough* or keep it FROM the queen because he hates her, however you want Barrel. I was thinking for my character, while she's "empty-hearted" *badjoke* she can be all lopsy and light-headed, fainting all the time... any other ideas?

You know, that could be how the Prince gets her heart! The Prince will be in disguise at the ball. Once Tatiana discovers the connection between locket and heart, he'll convince the Queen to dance with him. He's disguised, so she won't recognize him, but maybe if she hasn't danced with anyone yet it would be extra "Ooh" for guests to see that something is about to happen. In their dance he'll take the necklace in the sneaky, slight of hands way that thieves have, and disappear into the crowd. As she'll be in the middle of the dance floor the chaos that covers the Prince's escape (and eventual loss of the heart) can begin there. With the locket being bound to the heart, this is how I see it working: Like the philosopher's stone in Harry Potter, whoever has the locket will have the heart - but only if they want it for honorably intentions, which will be a switch since everyone would suspect the Prince wanting it for dishonorable intentions. That will also tie into the Queen's heart being returned! When the heart is in the hands of others, it won't be able to be returned by anyone who wants the Queen to be strong again, or in love with them, or any reason that could be misconstrued with even slight self gain. Instead, when the Boy King gets the heart it will be after he's tried to maintain control of the court and failed, and he realizes that he was a fool to be arrogant and believe that he could rule without his mother's help, and when he admits that to her (maybe in some tearful scene of needing his mother back) the heart will be returned to her?

So the Boy king tries to take control of the Court while he has the heart or does he just assume since the Queen is in bad condition due to her heart being taken away by the Prince that he can just control the court himself?
